Update: Sarge was adopted on November 4th! What in the world was electrical tape doing on this sweet boy at the time of his rescue? Only God knows what these angels have endured before making it to safety. It is impressive that so many, like Sarge , still believe in love and people despite neglected, cruel, or absurd backgrounds. Sarge is a warm-hearted boy with a very charming demeanor. He is a chocolate & white Cocker Spaniel with an easy smile. He is neutered, 5 years of age, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Sarge enjoys other dogs. Regular grooming and good coat and ear hygiene is very important for Cocker Spaniels. Please only consider him if you are willing and able to budget and plan for periodic grooming.

Please snuggle with me.

Update: Quinn was adopted on October 1st! As adorable as they come, Quinn is a affectionate puppy enjoys cuddling. He is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, neutered, about 5 months of age. He needed us for rescue when his owner lost her job. Quinn is reportedly good with kind, older children. We know he is also very good-natured with other friendly dogs. While he is crate-trained, he reportedly is only partially housetrained, so a steady routine (and plenty of patience) is needed to help him complete housetraining. Quinn's ideal adopter will have knowledge about, or experience with, the Corgi breed.

Adopt me and I will share my joy for life with you every day.

Update: Bosley was adopted on October 1st! Bosley is a jubilant puppy. His heart sings with love and enthusiasm. He is a super cute, brindle Boxer, neutered, and 7 months young. Bosley has natural ears, which we find most attractive. We are grateful to see that fewer people are unnecessarily cropping ears and tails just to create artificial looks. Boxer knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred. Please be willing and able to provide basic dog training for him. Bosley debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We know very little about his background, except that he reportedly lost his home due to "being too big for apartment."

I want to belong to you and know that I am loved.

Update: Gin was adopted on October 1st! Gin craves attention and she has developed a little dance on her hind legs to ensure she catches your eye. She is a gorgeous young lady debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Gin is a snow-white Lhasa Apso mix, spayed, and about 3 years of age. She is compatible with other sweet dogs. Please plan on regular grooming for her and budget extra accordingly. We rescued Gin from another shelter when she ran out of time there.

I want to belong to a person or family who will love me.

Update: Annabelle Lee was adopted on October 24th! Annabelle Lee has the majestic confidence of a lion. This baby rabbit is outgoing, very friendly, and sure-footed. She enjoys people and goes after her daily salad greens with gusto. Annabelle Lee is a Dutch mix bunny, about 4 months of age. She is spayed and ready for adoption today. She needed rescue because she had been abandoned outdoors, where she had no chance of survival on her own. We believe Annabelle Lee would make a wonderful little sister for another spayed female bunny. Please let us know if you would like to set up a 'bunny date' so your rabbit can meet her in a neutral setting to ensure they are a lifetime match.

I would have been eaten by a coyote.

Image
Update: Redford was adopted on February 27th! Redford did not stand a chance fending for himself in a park. He is only a baby, and tame rabbits of all ages are virtually helpless prey to the coyotes, who are effectively lured into neighborhood parks because of people who ignorantly or cruelly abandon their bunnies outdoors. Redford is one of the very few domestic rabbits fortunate to survive outdoor abandonment. A kind person caught him and brought him to Nevada SPCA for care (he was approaching starvation). Redford is an exceptionally handsome Dwarf mix, about 7 months of age. He is now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He craves affection and attention, but being picked up scares him. You can ask for Redford by name at Nevada SPCA. He is one of more than 70 spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption today. He needs and requires an indoor lifestyle where he is a loved member of the family.

I need you to make a lifetime commitment to me.

Update: Kingston was adopted on September 30th! Kingston is a super cute little boy who loves attention and being held. He is a Shih-Tzu and Terrier mix with adorable, front-folding rose ears. Kingston is neutered, about 5 years young, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Kingston enjoys other sweet dogs. Please plan on regular brushing/grooming for him. We found him at another shelter, so we are mystified why he lost his home. But as regular readers of this blog already know well, the vast majority of companion animals losing their homes have done nothing wrong. Please come meet this spectacular little boy today.

My precious babies and I were stuffed in a box and thrown away.

Image
Update: June was adopted on October 17th! It is a deeply sad reality that it is necessary to look in every dumpster and roadside box. There are frequently angels crammed inside, disposed of callously and cruelly. June and her four 5-week old babies were thrown out with the trash. One of our staff found them before they were hauled away by a garbage truck. They had advanced upper respiratory illness. We had medical care provided for them, but only June and one of her babies survived. June is nearly a baby still herself at just 18 months of age. After her recovery, we had her spayed, and she is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. June is primarily white and medium-hair, but she has lovely Calico markings around her face. She is a petite girl, humble and unassuming. She gets along well with other sweet cats and we believe she will do best in a quieter home. Please ask for her by name in the free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms at Nevada SPCA. She and the other 200 spayed/neutered c

Adopt me and I will bring sunshine into your heart.

Image
Update: Darla was adopted on October 8th! Darla is a radiant puppy with an angelic personality and easy smile. She has a Shepherd-like appearance, but she is quite small, even at 8 months of age. So we believe she is one of those fantastic, though common, blessings -- a mixed breed dog who turns out better than ever! Darla is spayed and she debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She is compatible with other dogs. Please bring your dog here to meet her in our courtyard to ensure she will be a wonderful match with your whole family. We rescued Darla from another shelter when she ran out of time there.

I have an exotic appearance, but inside I am all sweetheart.

Image
Update: Sadie was adopted on October 2nd! Sadie is a youngster with numerous exceptional qualities. She enjoys kind children, she is housetrained, and she bonds well with other good-natured dogs. Sadie is a medium-size Heinz 57 with brindle & white coloring. Half of us see a Basenji mix, while the other half guesses Australian Cattle Dog. We rescued Sadie from another shelter. She was left there due to no fault of her own when her owner's living situation changed. She likes to give kisses and she is full of devotion. Please come meet and adopt Sadie today.

Please consider me for adoption and I will work every day to thank you and make you proud.

Image
Update: Emmy Lou was adopted on October 31st! Emmy Lou's gorgeous merle coloring is the first thing you notice when laying eyes on her. But her fun-loving, cheery personality is even more beautiful. We believe Emmy Lou is most likely an Australian Shepherd mix. She is spayed and 4 years young. We rescued her from another shelter. Herding dog experience is preferred -- this breed is notoriously intelligent. Emmy Lou debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Despite all of my love, he simply tied me to a tree and walked away without saying goodbye.

Image
Update: Rembrandt was adopted on October 5th! Rembrandt is a masterpiece of heavenly innocence. He is loyal and affectionate and humble. Rembrandt is most likely a Terrier & Schnauzer mix. He is neutered and about 8 years of age. He likes other dogs, especially those with mild temperaments like his. Please plan on regular grooming care for him. We rescued Rembrandt after one of our staff witnessed him being abandoned by a man who tied him to a tree near a busy street and sped away. It is so sad and tragic that some people are incapable of recognizing and respecting the ocean of unconditional love offered by wonderful dogs like Rembrandt.

I would love to be in a home with another sweet dog to be my big brother or sister.

Image
Update: Miles was adopted on October 9th! Miles is an adorable puppy, sensitive and tender-hearted and shy. He is a small Terrier mix, with unique ears, neutered and 10 months of age. We rescued Miles from another shelter, so we have very little background information. He enjoys other dogs very much. Ideally, we think he will thrive best in a home with another dog (or dogs). Miles also may do best in a calmer, quieter home. He debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Can I be your golden boy for life?

Image
Phineas is an exceptionally good-looking and sweet young bunny available for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is a Mini Rex with gold-brown coloring and the softest coat. He is neutered and about 2 years of age. Phineas has a warm, gentle demeanor. He loves being petted tenderly. We rescued him after he was abandoned by his previous owner at a veterinary clinic. Phineas is one of more than 70 spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Each needs and deserves an indoor lifestyle where they can become members of the family.

I want you to be mine forever.

Image
Update: Lola was adopted on September 26th! Lola is a tender-hearted puppy, sensitive and loving. She is a petite, cream Toy & Terrier mix. She is spayed and 10 months of age. Lola enjoys other sweet dogs and needs regular brushing and grooming care for good hygiene. She needed us for rescue when her owner lost her job and became ill. Lola debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We believe she will do best in a gentle home.

Keep me safe, please, because I may be a bit too adventurous for my own good.

Image
Update: Babs was adopted on October 23rd! Babs enjoys giving kisses to people she adores. She is a stunning young girl, most likely a Shiba Inu mix, perhaps with Basenji too. Babs is spayed and about 2 years of age. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued Babs from another shelter. She is good with other dogs and may do best if there is another dog (or dogs) in the home too. Babs requires a very secure home and yard. She lost her previous family due to jumping a 5-foot fence. Please come meet this unique girl. She has a zest for life and a beautiful spirit.

Please help me build confidence and I will shower you with a lifetime of devotion.

Image
Update: Taro was adopted on January 8th! Taro is a handsome, smart youngster who we believe will make progress quickly in an experienced home committed to dog training. He is a medium-size, brindle Heinz 57, perhaps with Belgian Shepherd or Akita. He is neutered and 18 months of age. Taro is a loyal boy with tremendous potential. He has been the victim of abuse, so trusting people takes time and patience with an experienced dog owner/caretaker. We rescued Taro from another shelter. With training and renewed self-esteem, this young boy will bloom. He will reward you with a lifetime of unconditional love.

Why was I cast out despite not doing anything wrong?

Update: Mandy was adopted on September 26th! We strongly believe that companion animals must be members of the family. When we hear that people want to "use" them -- to be a guard dog, to chase away mice, to teach their children responsibility, and so forth -- that worries us greatly that they will be rejected by the family if they fail to fulfill their intended use. Mandy is a case in point. The responsibility for her care was apparently thrust upon the children. But caring for a companion animal is an adult responsibility. When we asked why she was being surrendered to us, the reply was: "Daughter is tired of taking care of her." Mandy is a magnificent little lady who craves attention. She is housetrained, good with kind children, and she enjoys other sweet dogs. Mandy is a Lhasa Apso, spayed, 5 years of age. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please plan on regular grooming care for her and budget extra accordingly.

I am gentle, beautiful, and loving.

Image
Update: Fleur de Lis was adopted on October 19th! Fleur de Lis is a lovely baby rabbit with an outgoing personality and she loves affection. She is an English Spot and Mini Lop mix with expressive, gorgeous ears. She is spayed, and about 7 months of age. We rescued Fleur de Lis from another shelter. This gentle girl is a volunteer favorite. She is very engaging with people and enthusiastic for her daily salads. Fleur de Lis is one of more than 70 spayed/neutered bunnies ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. As with all of the rescued rabbits, she needs and deserves an indoor lifestyle where she can be a proper member of the family.

I felt so lost. All I knew to do was to run to try to escape my fears.

Image
Update: Zoe was adopted on October 1st! Regular readers of this blog already have seen that we are noticing a tragic escalation in recent weeks of people trying to kill their companion animals by throwing them in traffic. Eyewitness accounts indicate these monstrous acts were indeed deliberate, not just extremely reckless and illegal abandonments. We named the beautiful Beagle pictured here Zoe . Our staff relentlessly pursued her -- for 4 hours! -- after she was abandoned in the middle of one of Vegas' busiest streets. Zoe was nearly crushed by vehicles numerous times. But she was so traumatized by being violently thrown away that she just kept running in traffic, with nowhere safe to go. Zoe has been with us just a few days, but she is already starting to build confidence and self-esteem. Her heart is broken and we are trying to ease her feelings of complete loss. Today, she debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. She is spayed and about 5 years of age. Adopt this sweetheart an

I do not want to be beaten ever again.

Image
Update: Aries was adopted on October 15th! At the time of rescue, Aries had a large, infected forehead wound. We are not sure how she was injured, but we know she was beaten in her previous home. We have been working with her for many weeks now and she is still head-shy with us and leery that she may get struck again. We had her wound treated and cleaned and stitched up. Now, it's time for her heart to heal. Aries is a gorgeous Siberian Husky, spayed, and approximately 7 years of age. She has expressive, bright blue eyes and a jolly personality is beginning to emerge. Siberian Husky knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred. Aries is ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

My heart is full of love.

Update: Jade was adopted on November 30th! Jade is a charming baby girl with a tender nature. She is most likely a Pomeranian mix, 7 months of age. Jade is now spayed and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She enjoys other dogs and she is reportedly fine with kind, mature children. Jade reportedly is crate-trained and partially housetrained. She may need your patience & guidance (and a steady routine) to complete housetraining. She needed us because her owners were not prepared to handle adding a puppy to their family. Please plan on regular grooming/brushing for her. Please also carefully puppy-proof your home & yard for her safety & protection.

Adopt me and make me your special lovebug for life.

Image
Update: Meena was adopted on September 24th! Adorable and jazzy, Meena is a pup with plenty of zip. She is a beautiful Bully mix with hazel eyes. We expect her to grow to medium size. She is spayed and about 4 months of age. We feel very fortunate to have succeeded in her rescue. Her previous owner was threatening her life and potentially dangerous to people too. Meena seems to have let memories of him fade away quickly as she revels in the attention and care here from staff and volunteers. Meena debuts for adoption today. She is ready to share unconditional love with you in exchange for a lifetime commitment to her joining your family.

I have a ton of love in store for you.

Image
Update: Midge was adopted on November 14th! Midge is a radiant young lady, full of joy and good cheer. She is a gorgeous little Terrier mix with an easy smile. She is spayed and only one year of age. Midge enjoys other dogs very much, especially those who will play with her. We rescued Midge from another shelter. Midge debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

My name fits me beautifully.

Image
Update: Buddy Love was adopted on September 26th! Buddy Love is an exceptionally good-natured boy with an easygoing demeanor. He is a handsome Springer Spaniel. He is neutered and about 8 years of age. Buddy Love needed rescue when his owner became homeless. He was reportedly raised with cats and children. He is also housetrained. Please plan on regular brushing for him. With good hygiene and nutrition and grooming care, his coat will shine.

Please make me your own little superstar.

Image
Update: Saki was adopted on September 23rd! Saki needed us when her owners divorced. She is a lovely youngster, inside & out, with a kind soul. Saki is a Shih-Tzu, spayed, and about 2 years young. She is compatible with other sweet dogs and older, mature children. Saki is reportedly partially housetrained (doggie door), but occasionally has accidents, so a regular routine and your patience will help her. Please remember to plan on and budget for regular grooming and good hygiene. Saki debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am beginning to blossom in light of my wonderful new opportunity for a life full of love and compassion.

Image
We rescued Angelika from another shelter. Her background remains a mystery, but it is clear she experienced some very dark days. Her coat was so matted and tangled it could not be saved by a professional groomer. So we had her body shaved down to the skin so she would be clean and feel better. Angelika has now been with us for about two weeks. As she recovers, her personality is emerging. She is both sweet and feisty, but especially even-tempered considering all of the care and fussing we have been giving her. A little girl who has missed too many meals, Angelika is showing great passion for the canned cat food which is fed as a treat in the afternoons (in addition to the free feeding of kibble). When she hears the can open, she bounces to us with all her might. Angelika is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Please ask for her by name at the Cat Condos, the free-roaming playrooms for cats. She is a beautiful, medium-hair Red Tabby, spayed, and approximately 4 years of age.

Why did she choose to abandon me at a gas station?

Image
Update: Mari was adopted on September 26th! Mari is a very lovable, excitable puppy. We call her a wiggleworm - her whole body shakes and wiggles when she is excited. Mari is most likely a Boxer mix. She is spayed and approximately 5 months of age. We rescued Mari in the nick of time. She was witnessed being abandoned at a gas station near a busy intersection, dodging cars coming at her from every direction. Mari is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. She is full of joy. This baby girl will be an exceptional lifelong companion for a caring new person or couple or family.

Do you have a place in your heart for a super cute Border Collie like me?

Image
Update: Hawkeye was adopted on September 25th! Hawkeye is an intelligent, friendly, and outgoing puppy with a very sweet disposition. He is a Border collie, neutered, and about 8 months of age. Hawkeye is reportedly housetrained and good with cats and kind children. He needed us when his owners divorced. Hawkeye debuts for adoption today. Border Collie knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred.

They did not even bring the van to a complete stop before throwing me out.

Image
Update: Okee was adopted on September 28th! Okee is an angelic youngster. She is golden-hearted, with a cheery and easygoing nature, full of lovely smiles. Okee is most likely an Australian Shepherd mix with dark brindle and white coloring. She is spayed and approximately one year of age. One of our supporters was driving home near a large sporting complex and noticed a van slow down awkwardly. Then she saw a medium-size dog thrown into traffic, followed by the van screeching away. She pulled over carefully and opened her back car door and successfully coaxed Okee to jump inside to safety. Before bringing her to us the following day, she took Okee home and found that she is compatible with both cats and dogs. Today, Okee debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. She is a heavenly girl who should never experience cruel, dangerous rejection again.

Angora bunnies like me need a bit of extra care from you.

Image
Update: Pretty Boy was adopted on September 25th! Pretty Boy is a very handsome, engaging, and well mannered youngster. He is neutered, between 2-3 years of age, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Fortunately, Pretty Boy loves attention. Angora rabbits need human help with the grooming of their long coats. Please set aside time each week to brush him and ensure good hygiene. Besides natural, dried pine cones, Pretty Boy enjoys spoon-size shredded wheat (no sugar or flavors added) for a fiber, chewing treat. Please come and meet him and the nearly 70 other spayed/neutered bunnies for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Can you please make time to love me and care for me?

Image
Update: Chi Chi was adopted on September 19th! Chi Chi is a snugglebug puppy with enormous charm. She is an apricot Toy or Miniature Poodle, spayed, 9 months young. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Chi Chi is reportedly good with other dogs and kind, older children. She reportedly knows how to use a doggie door, but we are not clear on whether she is fully housetrained yet. Your patience and a stable routine may be needed on this front. Please also plan for regular grooming for Chi Chi and budget extra accordingly. Chi Chi needed rescue because her owners said they did not have enough time for her. Puppies require enormous attention and careful puppy-proofing of the home.

I am proud to be a little firecracker.

Image
Update: Sparkette was adopted on September 19th! Sparkette is an adorable, petite, and enthusiastic young girl. She is chatty, rambunctious, and demands your attention. Sparkette is most likely an Affenpinscher mix, about one year of age. She was in great pain at the time of rescue. She had been abandoned and she had broken toes and a hernia. We had her injuries repaired and she made a full recovery. Sparkette enjoys most dogs, especially those who will play with and entertain her. She is now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

It is a miracle that I am with you today.

Image
This precious little jewel, Josie , arrived to us for rescue in a state of emergency with a large open wound on her abdomen, and she seemed to be in a state of shock. A giant mammary tumor had burst open. We rushed her into medical care and then to a specialist who performed the complicated surgery to remove the tumor. After healing for a few weeks, she made a good recovery and today debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Throughout this trauma, Josie remained trusting and even-tempered. Her loving nature glows. Josie is a young Chihuahua, approximately 8 years of age. She is housetrained and compatible with mature children and other sweet dogs. She would be best in a quieter, gentle home, where she is showered with affection. The lesson that every day is a blessing is especially real for Josie. The testing on her tumor revealed that it was cancerous. Her surgeon believes it all of it was completely removed. Please have your veterinarian regularly examine her to check for the possi

I am bashful, but my devotion is limitless.

Image
Update: Dudley was adopted on September 26th! Dudley is a very cute youngster in the process of gaining self-esteem. We rescued him from another shelter. Before that, he was reportedly with an owner who forced him to live outdoors only, which is unconscionable in our extreme desert climate. Dudley yearns for love and wants to be indoors as a proper member of the family. Please be patient with him and put him on a regular routine to aid in housetraining. He is a Dachshund mix, perhaps with Spaniel, neutered, and about 18 months of age. He reportedly is fine with kind, older children. Dudley debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

My sister and I never want be abandoned again.

Image
Update: Jillian & Gazelle were adopted on September 19th! Jillian (pictured here) & Gazelle are soul-mates whose bond grew ever stronger as they survived abandonment and extreme hunger for many weeks in the backyard of a foreclosed home. The girls are gorgeous, young Welsh Corgis, 1 to 2 years of age. They are now spayed and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Jillian & Gazelle are sweethearts with endearing personalities. But new people and new situations make them anxious, due to lack of socialization, and they are not yet even leash-trained. A patient, experienced owner will help them build confidence and continue their progress.

I am young at heart.

Image
Update: Isis was adopted on September 28th! Isis is an elegant, mellow senior with a sunny temperament. She is a Bouvier des Flandres mix, spayed, and reportedly 10 years of age. She needed rescue due to no fault of her own. Her owner became homeless. Isis is housetrained (with a doggie door), compatible with cats & dogs, and she enjoys kind, mature children. She needs regular brushing, so please plan accordingly. Isis debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please do not dismiss her due to her age. She is a marvelous, shining girl with a world of love to offer.

A loving forever home will tame me.

Image
Athletic and tenacious, Rusty can sometimes be a handful. But this zippy youngster has a good heart and we know he will make an exceptional companion and new family member in an experienced home. Rusty is a very attractive orange tabby with white, neutered, and approximately 3 years of age. We rescued him after he was abandoned at a veterinary clinic. You can ask for Rusty by name in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms. Like all of the rescued cats, he requires a strictly indoor-only home for his lifelong safety and protection.

Adopt me and make me your regal, lovable little prince.

Image
Update: Feisty was adopted on September 18th! Feisty has a spirited name for such a gentle, well-behaved boy. He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, neutered, and about 3 years young. Feisty needed rescue when his owner became too ill to care for him any longer. He is chock full of exceptional qualities. He is housetrained, crate-trained, and good with kind children and other dogs. Feisty is a bit plump and on the hefty side, so please consult your veterinarian for guidance on helping him safely and appropriately trim up for better health.

At my age I understand that every day is a new blessing.

Image
Life can be so unfair. Being 11 years of age, and super sweet and cheery, yet still becoming homeless and in need of a new family. But Jake is not one to fret. His spirit is overjoyed at his opportunity to find someone new to grace with his unconditional love. Jake is a rustic, kind-hearted Labrador Retriever mix. He is neutered and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Jake is great with children. His previous owner apparently banished him to living outdoors only, which is unacceptable. Please be patient with him as he adjusts to living predominantly indoors with you as a proper member of the family.

I am quite exuberant, but in time I will be less rowdy.

Image
Update: Rockabilly was adopted on October 3rd! Rockabilly is a playful puppy full of spunk and zest for life. He is a very handsome Bull Terrier, neutered, approximately 9-10 months young. Rockabilly is reportedly housetrained and good with older, mature kids. But he apparently has lost two homes already due to playing too rough with other dogs. Bull Terrier knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred. Rockabilly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Reassure me that I am your baby boy and that you will never leave me.

Image
Update: Otto was adopted on September 17th! Otto is precious beyond words, innocent to the core. He is a Miniature Pinscher puppy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Otto is chatty and craves your attention and reassurances. He is neutered and about 3 months of age. We cannot tell if he was the result of purposeful breeding or an "oops" litter, but apparently the person who was going to take him (or buy him) from his owner backed out at the last minute. So Otto needed us and we were glad to neuter him. A gentle home with Miniature Pinscher knowledge and/or experience is ideal.

I adore kind children.

Image
Gin-Gin is a super cute puppy who is baffled by why he lost his home. He is a Longhair Chihuahua mix, perhaps with Pomeranian, with engaging eyes. He is neutered and approximately 10 months of age. Gin-Gin is reportedly partially housetrained, but lost his home because his owners could not fully housetrain him. Our experience is that when housetraining is not accomplished, it is usually because the owner has not had the dog on a regular schedule. As you know, dogs love routines they can count on and this is usually the basis for puppies and youngsters like Gin-Gin to complete housetraining. Gin-Gin loves children and he bonds well with other dogs too. Gin-Gin debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Adopt me and I will be your little angel.

Image
Cedar is a lively, beautiful little lady, full of many tremendous qualities. She is a Dachshund, spayed, and about 6 years of age. Cedar is compatible with both cats and dogs. She has always been around adults, so any children in the home should be older and very mature. She is housetrained and generally well-behaved. Cedar lost her home reportedly due to one fault. She was chewing on the carpet. Chewing is necessary and important for adult dogs too, though some people expect this behavior to end after puppyhood. Trainers emphasize that the key is providing plenty of safe chewing options, and then re-directing chewing with praise toward these appropriate toys and treats. Cedar debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

A lifetime commitment to Red-Eared Slider Turtles like me may be a long obligation.

Image
Update: Felicia was adopted on September 23rd! Felicia is a large adult female with a shell exceeding 8 inches in length. A Red-Eared Slider Turtle, she is semi-aquatic and spends most of her time underwater, though she enjoys basking areas in her tank to temporarily crawl out of the water. Felicia is an excellent swimmer and needs a large area to swim in. Because of her size, she should not be around very small or newborn turtles, but bonding with another larger female turtle is a possibility. She needs an owner knowledgeable about turtles who is willing and able to give her good care, beginning with strong water filters in her tank or pond and frequent water changes. Felicia is available for adoption today in the sitting area at the center of the Cat Condos. Please only consider her if you can fully commit to making her a member of your family for decades to come. Our best guess is that she is approximately 8-10 years of age, so she may live for 20-25 more years.

I am ready to become your lovebug for life.

Image
Update: Thaddeus was adopted on September 19th! Adorable as can be, Thaddeus charms you with his expressive face and playful, loving temperament. He is one-of-a-kind, blessed in this way like all mixed breeds are with a unique appearance. Our best guess is that he has some Toy Fox Terrier mixed in. Thaddeus is neutered and about a year of age. He debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is compatible with many dogs, but picky with which dogs he likes and accepts. Please be sure to bring your dog to meet him in our courtyard to ensure he gets along with the whole family. We rescued Thaddeus from another shelter. He had reportedly been thrown out and captured in the streets where he had no chance for survival on his own.

Please do not let anyone ever hit me again.

Image
Update: Christine was adopted on December 17th! Upon arrival from being rescued from other shelters, we like to welcome the dogs warmly and immediately try to help them understand they are now safe and off-the-clock (i.e., no deadlines). Christine though was wary, dodging her head with the tell-tale sign of previous abuse. Unfortunately, this is common. But fortunately, rebuilding trust and self-esteem is something we are happy to help with and committed to achieving. Christine has a heart of gold and she has shown good improvement in a short time. She may tend to remain on the shy side and better suited in a gentle home. She is a Chihuahua with distinct ears and lovely eyes. She is spayed and approximately 2 years of age. Christine enjoys other dogs. We would love to see her adopted to a new home where she can be with another dog (or dogs). Christine debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I can be your little burst of sunshine.

Image
Update: Chuckie was adopted on October 19th! Chuckie's sunny nature and easy smiles make him irresistible. He is a small Terrier & Toy mix with almond-shaped eyes. He is neutered and approximately one year young. Chuckie loves people, but he has not shown us much evidence that he is fond of other dogs (instead, being grouchy with them). We believe he may be best as the only dog in the home. We rescued him from another shelter. Chuckie debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Malibu was adopted on October 10th! Malibu is a darling, fun-loving, and very endearing young girl. She is a Terrier & Poodle mix, spayed, and about 18 months of age. Malibu is compatible with other sweet dogs and may do best in a home with another dog to bond with and keep her company. She is reportedly "mostly" housetrained and good with kind, mature children. Please plan on regular grooming and brushing for Malibu . At the time of rescue she was matted and filthy after being abandoned by her owner. She must never be neglected again, either physically or emotionally. Please come meet this beautiful doll today at Nevada SPCA.

I would be honored if you would give me serious consideration for adoption.

Murphy is a kind, wise senior debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is a Labrador Retriever mix with the cutest helicopter style ears. He is neutered and about 9 years of age. Murphy is well-behaved and knows basic training commands. In addition, he is housetrained and compatible with most other dogs. We rescued Murphy from another shelter. He reportedly was grumpy around small children as he got older. Please be sure to have a very secure home and yard. He reportedly can jump low walls and fences. Murphy radiates love! Please do not turn away from this baby-faced sweetheart based on his age.
