Before & After -- two young Shih-Tzus recovering from extreme neglect.

Marie & Mark, after being shaved down on June 7.

Marie, on the day of her rescue, June 6.

Mark, on the day of his rescue, June 6.
Marie & Mark are not yet ready for adoption, but these angels are on the road to recovery from extreme neglect.

They were thrown over a fence into someone's yard.  Fortunately, they did not end up with broken legs or other bones from the fall.  (If we determine the identity of their previous owners, we will, of course, be giving that information to authorities for animal abuse prosecution.)

Their matting was so severe and filthy they could barely see.  This is neglect that has likely taken place over their entire lives.  We doubt they have ever been groomed or pampered until they arrived at Nevada SPCA.

Marie is afraid of women, but she is letting men handle and give her nurturing care.  Mark is very bashful, but a bit more trusting of both women and men.

Special thanks to all of you who donate to Nevada SPCA for grooming or advanced care so that innocent animals, like Marie & Mark, get wonderful futures full of love and hope.
