Maverick

Image
Maverick , overflowing with endearing charm, has become a favorite of volunteers and staff members who love his smiles and hugs.  He is a Bully mix, 4 years of age and neutered, housetrained, and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Maverick was surrendered earlier this year by his previous owners due to a mid-grade heart murmur. A leisurely lifestyle is ideal for this cute boy.  Also, Maverick loves adults, but fears children and animals due to traumas in a past home.  He is a treasure and eagerly awaits joining a forever home where he will be cherished.

Carrington

Image
Carrington , 10, glows with the cheeriest of smiles. He needs a hero please for his emotional and physical challenges. Carrington is a Pomeranian, good with other dogs, neutered boy, ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued him from another shelter. He requires a leisurely lifestyle due to his heart murmur, which precludes surgery to remove the fatty growth on his chest.    Emotionally, he can get grumpy and fussy when he doesn't get his way, so an experienced, adult-only home is needed to prevent nipping/biting.

Duke of Earl

Image
Duke of Earl , a 6-pound sweetheart, earnest boy, wonders if you will please give him consideration.  He is a young and very friendly Chihuahua, 2 years of age, neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Duke of Earl was at another shelter that asked for our help. He has a mild heart murmur and needs a lifestyle free of extreme exertion.  Please visit and ask for him by name.

I would love to be your lifelong sweetheart.

Muffin is a young girl with a gentle soul and a flamboyant appearance.  She is a Shih-Tzu & Lhasa Apso mix, 2 years of age, spayed, and now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued her from another shelter to treat her mid-grade heart murmur -- she is on daily medication for life and needs a leisurely lifestyle.  Muffin sits in our laps and kisses our chins and cheeks in gratitude.  Muffin enjoys other friendly dogs too and she needs regular professional grooming.  Please ask for her by name today when you visit (new Sunday adoption hours are from 10am-1pm).

Asia, a delightful Yorkshire Terrier puppy for adoption.

Image
Asia is a delightful Yorkshire Terrier puppy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She is about 11 months of age, a spayed girl, and good with other sweet dogs.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. Please plan and budget for regular professional grooming. We rescued Asia from another shelter because she was timid there and diagnosed with a low-grade heart murmur.  Regarding the latter, medications are not needed at this time, just an easy-going lifestyle, but have your veterinarian monitor her heart murmur in the years to come for any changes and guidance.

Do I dare believe that I am about to finally find love and adoration?

Fluffy was found running scared near one of the busiest intersections in Las Vegas. It was clear he had been neglected for years and his teeth were rotten.  Fluffy is now shaved and his teeth have been pulled.  Some sparks of hope are coming into his eyes and he is gaining weight steadily with soft food and treats.  Fluffy is a very gentle Toy Poodle, about 10 years of age, neutered boy, debuting triumphantly for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is on daily medication for a heart murmur and needs a calm lifestyle routine.  Please help him find a hero.

Your loving home will be my castle!

Prince is a joyous older boy blessed with a festive personality and brilliant smile.  He has such character!  Prince is a cute Pekingese mix, 10 years of age, neutered, housetrained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Prince likes other friendly dogs and needs regular professional grooming.  A leisurely lifestyle is best for him.  ( Prince is on daily medication for a high-grade heart murmur.)   Please help find him a hero.

Why do visitors overlook me?

Update: Chinito was adopted on February 11th! Months have rolled by and we are stumped why this excitable, cheery little champ has not yet been adopted. Chinito is famous with us for his cute dances to get attention and his outgoing personality.  He will make sure you know every day how much he enjoys being a part of your pack. He is a petite Chihuahua, neutered boy, 6-7 years of age, good with other dogs and reportedly housetrained too.  Chinito is on daily medication for his heart murmur, so a quieter, less vigorous routine is best for him.  He needed us because his previous owner had "too many dogs". Please visit and ask for him by name. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these knockout portraits of Chinito to help him find a forever home.

I adore going for walks.

Update: Max was adopted on January 8th! Max is a very intelligent little guy who 'sits' and 'shakes' and follows finger point directions. He aims to please and hopes you will engage him in a game of fetch. Max is a noble Miniature Poodle, neutered, young at heart at 8 years of age, debuting for adoption today. He needed us because his of his previous owner's deteriorating health. His special needs are that he has a mild heart murmur (medications are not needed at this time) and he only likes to go potty on walks. He reportedly does not like going to the bathroom in the backyard and will instead hold it until it is time for a walk. Max enjoys other friendly dogs and needs regular professional grooming care. He reportedly loves going to get groomed. Adults-only please. He reportedly can get nippy when fearful or overly anxious.

I adore sweet people and tuna fish.

Update: Cotton Candy was adopted on October 8th! If you are seeking a beautiful cat best in a quiet household, then please consider Cotton Candy . She is a snow-white Persian, spayed female, about 5 years of age. Cotton Candy has a mid-grade heart murmur and needs a calmer lifestyle routine, but this does not stop her from climbing to the highest possible points in rooms for her catnaps. Regular brushing and grooming are essential for Persians, so please plan accordingly. She is probably best as the only cat in the home. She may be fine with easy-going, respectful cats too though. Like all cats, Cotton Candy needs an indoor-only home for her safety and protection. Please visit Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms and ask for her by name. She is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered cats for adoption today. Very special thanks to the compassionate people at Pet'ographique for this stunning portrait.

Old boys like me need love too, please.

Update: Ricky Casper was adopted on May 21st! Ricky Casper needs people. He cherishes sitting in your lap, soaking up your adoration, being with you as much as possible, and even enjoying car rides. Ricky Casper is 11 years of age, a Toy Poodle, neutered male, debuting for adoption today. He is reportedly housetrained, but may take time adjusting to new surroundings. Please also plan on regular grooming care. Ricky Casper has two special needs. First, he has just a few teeth left, so a softer diet is in order for him. Also, he has an enlarged heart and mid-grade heart murmur, so he takes daily medication for this. Please open your heart to this wonderful senior.

A more leisurely, relaxed lifestyle for me, please.

Update: Chinito was adopted on February 11th! Full of passion and affection, Chinito is a darling little Casanova. He is a petite Chihuahua, neutered male, about 6 years of age, debuting for adoption today. Chinito needed us because his previous owner had "too many dogs". He enjoys other dogs and he is reportedly housetrained. Chinito has been diagnosed with a mild heart murmur, so a quieter, less vigorous routine is best for him.

A quiet life is a good life for me.

Update: Alexis was adopted on January 23rd! Yes, she has challenges, but the miracle for Alexis is that she is now free from the demeaning, cold existence of a puppy mill. And her future is about to become full of love. She debuts for adoption today and anxiously awaits her first-ever loving home. Alexis is a Maltese, about 5 years of age. She is now spayed and ready for adoption. She is a petite girl, but plenty vocal if you dare try to ignore her. She cherishes your attention and reassurances. Alexis may do best with another dog in the home to help her adjust to living indoors as a member of the family. Please also be sure to plan on regular professional grooming for her. Besides the puppy mill past, Alexis is living with a grade 4 (of 6) heart murmur and requires medication for this the rest of her life. She needs a calm lifestyle routine and please consult your veterinarian for further guidance. Alexis is on the verge of a great awakening for a loving future. Please visit ...

Despair is fading away and hope is building.

Update: Cooper was adopted on August 10th! Cooper came to us for rescue matted from head to tail. We shaved the tangles and knots away, and underneath all of the filth, we discovered an incredibly endearing and sweet little boy. Cooper is still technically a puppy at approximately 11 months of age. He is most likely a Shih-Tzu & Toy Poodle mix, "parti-colored" with black & white. He has a gentle, shy, and unassuming personality. He is reportedly fine with older, mature kids. Besides regular grooming, Cooper needs a quieter lifestyle. He has a mild heart murmur. It does not require medication at this time, but please consult with your veterinarian in the years to come to monitor this condition. Cooper's temperament is improving daily and really starting to shine. This sweetheart has so much to look forward to in a loving, caring, attentive home.
