Thank you for saving my babies too.

Candise is a dainty, gorgeous little lady who heartily purrs in your arms.  She is a Lynx Point Siamese, 3 years of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Candise was pregnant at the time of rescue, left behind by previous owners who moved away without her.  She shortly thereafter had four babies.  All survived and they remain in foster care until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered and ready for adoption.  Candise had a serious infection after giving birth and needed emergency medical care.  She made a full recovery and she is now ready for a loving, forever, indoor-only home.

Please kitten-proof your home for their safety and protection.

Samurai Sushi Samurai and Sushi are affectionate baby boys, brothers, Lynx Point Siamese kittens, neutered, about 5 months of age.  They have been lovingly raised in a foster home after being rescued as motherless newborns.  Please carefully kitten-proof your home for their safety.

I will greet you every day with loving dances.

At the time of rescue Golden Girl and her newborn baby were alone on the mean streets, trying to survive. We brought the two into our office for tender loving care and comfort.  Golden Girl was a terrific mama for her baby Theodore.  When it was time for him to be weaned, Theodore went into a foster home.  Golden Girl is now spayed and ready for adoption.  She is an intelligent, devoted small Terrier mix, about 3 years young.  She earned her name because of her sunny highlights throughout the black coat. Golden Girl loves people with all of her heart and she is very social.  She also shows signs of housetraining.  She can get fussy with other dogs, but that could be her protective maternal instincts still. Every time we come in the office she greets with a jubilant dance, standing upright on her hind legs, wiggling her entire body.  Please ask for Golden Girl by name when you visit. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this bea...

My foster mom saved me and my sisters.

Update: Trotter Girl was adopted on October 23rd! At the time of rescue Trotter Girl and her sisters (Spinart, Splatter, and Trinket) were motherless newborns in need of bottle/eye-dropper feedings every few hours to survive. We placed them with a very compassionate foster mom, who fed them right on schedule, even waking up twice in the middle of each night to feed them. Trotter Girl and her sisters are now 5 months of age, spayed, and ready for adoption into forever homes.  All four girls are beautiful, spunk orange tabbies who love to jump and run. Please only consider Trotter Girl (and any other rescued cat) if you can make a lifetime commitment to keeping her safely and strictly indoors as a cherished member of your family.

I shared motherly love with orphaned kittens who had no mommies.

Update: Dust Bunny was adopted on October 21st! Many of the homeless, motherless newborn kittens we rescued during the past few months have Dust Bunny to thank for their survival. Most arrived terrified and screaming for mothers they no longer had.  But once we fed them with eye-droppers to fill their starving bellies, we gave them to Dust Bunny , and the screaming stopped.  She pulled them close to her, licking them to both clean and comfort them, giving the babies the all-important nurturing they needed to survive.  And she stayed with them, socializing them as if they were her own. Previously, Dust Bunny was rescued herself.  One of our staff found her and her newborn kittens stuffed in a box by a dumpster.  Our staff recognized that her maternal care was exceptional, and when her own babies were old enough and needed to be separated from her (to be spayed/neutered and adopted), we asked Dust Bunny to help with a litter of motherless newborn kittens...

I am beautiful on the inside too.

Update: Kristy was adopted on June 26th! Dainty and petite, Kristy is indeed a jewel. She enjoys other sweet cats and likes to win your attention by gently chattering to you. Kristy is a Lynx Point Siamese with sky blue eyes, spayed female, about 18 months of age. She needed us when her previous owner abandoned her and her kittens, shortly after she gave birth. Her kittens remain in foster care, until they are old enough and healthy enough for spay/neuter, but Kristy is now spayed and ready for adoption. Please visit our free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms and ask for Kristy by name. She is one of 200 rescued cats for adoption into loving, safe, indoor-only, forever homes.

We offer a lifetime of sunshine for those who will making loving, lifetime commitments to us.

Update: All of the Pound Cake Puppies were adopted on or before May 10th! Each a bundle of fun and affection, the six " Pound Cake Puppies " are exceptionally sweet. Four sisters ( Brenda, Chastity, Edwina, and Fancy ) and their two brothers ( Albert and Donavan ) debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. The Pound Cake Puppies were rescued when just a few weeks old, along with their mother, Butters. (Momma has already been adopted.) Her six babies have been in a very caring foster home, but they are now spayed/neutered and 3 months of age. The puppies love to give sloppy kisses and play in their water bowls. We do not know what breed their father is, but their mother is a medium-size, golden Husky and Shepherd mix. The Pound Cake Puppies can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifetime companionship and unconditional love.

Despite all of the trauma, I worked hard to keep my puppies alive.

Update: Mary Jane was adopted on February 18th! Early in December, we rescued Mary Jane and her puppies when her previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure. Her 7 puppies were just a day old and very fragile! Extremely distressed in these circumstances, she nevertheless faithfully maintained her tender care for her puppies. We transferred Mary Jane and her babies into a foster home so they would have a quiet environment and the best chance for survival. Thanks to the generosity of their foster mom, and Mary Jane's maternal devotion, all 7 puppies survived. (They remain in foster care and will be ready for adoption in March or April.) Mary Jane is now spayed and ready for adoption into a forever home. She is a medium-size Terrier mix, 3 years of age. A sweetheart through and through, she is eager to please and she likes to follow you around, shadowing you for attention and reassurance. Mary Jane is compatible with other friendly dogs. Please come meet this amazing gir...

I give the best hugs.

Update: Tankster was adopted on February 11th! Tankster loves to wrap his paws and arms around your neck and shoulders and then lick your face gently. This snuggly boy is most likely a Boxer and American Bulldog mix. He is neutered, 3 months of age, and expected to grow to medium size. Tankster's rescue stemmed from cruelty and he was confiscated from his previous owners by a veterinarian. They had very crudely and painfully docked his tail by using a tight rubber band (over a period of weeks). The tip of his stubbed tail remains sensitive. But thanks to special care in a loving foster home, he is progressing beautifully with his socialization, and he adores playing with other dogs. Tankster debuts for adoption today. Please adopt him and ensure he never experiences unconscionable abuse again.

Adopt me for a lifetime of snuggling.

Update: Rufus was adopted on February 4th! Can a living being be any cuter than Rufu s? This tiny puppy has a big personality, which has developed beautifully thanks to tender loving care in a foster home shortly after his rescue as a newborn. Rufus is a small Terrier & Toy mix, neutered male, about 4 months of age. In his foster home he was raised with other dogs. We would love for him to have the continued companionship of having another dog to bond with and play with in his new home. Rufus debuts for adoption today.

Please give me a belly rub every day.

Update: Betsy was adopted on February 9th! Bashful, humble Betsy will surprise you with her charming, loving spirit. She was rescued running the streets, desperately, full of milk. An exhaustive search for her puppies was not successful, leading us to believe that they were either taken from her way too soon and she adventured to find them, or were born deceased and she was thrown out of her home. The bottom line is that Betsy should never have been pregnant. Bully mixes like her are the most overpopulated breeds of dogs, and the most in danger of being killed on the streets or euthanized in government shelters. Betsy's future now though is bright. She is a Bully mix, spayed female, 3 years of age, debuting for adoption today. A caring foster parent for her determined that she is compatible with cats & dogs & older children. She is even crate-trained, though it is unclear whether she is fully housetrained yet. (She is eager to please, so we think she will catch on qui...

We want to live indoors with committed families who will cherish us.

Astro, Elroy & Judy are " The Jetsons Kittens " and they are now available for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Please meet and adopt them on Saturdays, beginning at 11am, when they come in with their foster mom. They are gorgeous babies, each spayed/neutered, up-to-date on major vaccines, microchipped, and tested for leukemia, and they are approximately 4 months of age. Their foster mom and our staff kept them alive thanks to tender loving care when they had an extraordinarily fragile hold on life. Their owner dumped them, mercilessly, along with their mother (Rhapsody, who is also available for adoption) when they were just a day old. All three have progressed beautifully! Astro (left) is perhaps the most outgoing and playful, while his brother Elroy (Center) may be the most affectionate, and his sister Judy (right) the most gentle. Each are beautiful little miracles in their own right and their personalities will continue to bloom and thrive in loving environments. Th...

3 pounds of love and inspiration.

Update: Lil' Bit was adopted on December 3rd! This little angel has come a long way in the past few months, thanks to loving foster care. Lil' Bit debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She has a tender soul. When joyous, she turns into a cute wiggleworm. Lil' Bit is a Teacup Chihuahua, spayed, and about 5 months of age. She is good with other gentle dogs. Her special needs are likely to continue the rest of her life. She has neurological damage, the most noticeable results of which are a slightly tilted head and spinning when excited. We do not know what caused the damage (whether an accident or from birth), but she arrived to us just a few weeks old and in emergency need of foster care. We have reason to believe she was a "throw away" from a backyard breeder who knew she was a bit different and could not command a regular puppy sales fee. If you would like to meet and consider Lil' Bit , please ask for her by name at the headquarters. (She is not...

Brotherly love.

Update: Tab & Troy were adopted together on December 12th! Tab & Troy are very bonded kittens who would be exceptional lifelong companions for one another. The brothers are affectionate, handsome, and well-socialized, thanks to loving care in a foster home. They are both neutered and approximately 7-8 months of age. Tab & Troy needed us for rescue because their owner was allergic to them. Like all of the rescued cats at Nevada SPCA, they need and require and deserve strictly indoor-only homes for their safety and protection, and so they will be proper members of the family. Please ask for Tab & Troy by name when you visit. They are expected at the headquarters' lobby on Saturday (beginning at 11am) when they come with their foster mom. Ideally, they will be adopted together in honor of their strong bond.

My eyes reveal the oceans of unconditional love I have to share with you.

Lila is a petite youngster who craves gentle affection. She loves to sit in your lap and enjoy your tender touch and reassurances. Lila is a mostly snow-white shorthair, spayed, and one year of age. Lila and her four kittens needed rescue and fostering when their owner lost the family home to foreclosure. Her kittens have already been spayed/neutered and adopted, so now it is her turn to find a forever home. Lila is currently living with her foster mom and she comes to the Nevada SPCA lobby every Saturday at 11am to be considered by visitors for adoption. Like all of Nevada SPCA's rescued cats, she needs and requires and deserves a strictly indoor-only home where she will be safe and cherished as a member of the family.

We each made full recoveries from the attacks.

Update 2: Bobbi and Brady were adopted on October 12th! Update: One of the three puppies, Grady, was adopted on October 10th! Grady (pictured here), and his sister Bobbi and brother Brady, had lacerations on their swollen heads at the time of rescue, back in early September. The three had been the victims of brutal attacks, presumably by another dog. Following weeks of medical and foster care, they bounced back beautifully. Today, they debut for adoption at Nevada SPCA. We are calling them " The Toy Sweetheart Puppies ." They are bubbly, lovable small Heinz 57 mixes (perhaps with numerous small breeds mixed in, just making them that much more adorable!). They are spayed/neutered and approximately 3 months of age. The Toy Sweetheart Puppies can be adopted separately. But please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong companionship. They have already been through so much together.

I am a magnificent girl with a heart of gold.

Update: Hayley was adopted on February 26th! Hayley's loving spirit is very endearing. She is a fun-loving girl who enjoys gentle people. Hayley is also reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and good with other dogs. We have mixed reports on whether she is compatible with cats. After her rescue from the Grand Canyon, she had been in foster care in association with a boarding facility near the park which made room for her (since there are no shelters in that area). We made room for her at Nevada SPCA and she is now available for adoption. Hayley is most likely a German Shepherd mix. She is spayed and about 18 months young. Please visit and ask for her by name so you can spend time with her in our courtyard. Note that Hayley is reportedly anxious around strangers, especially men.

I am a showstopper!

Update: Chloe was adopted on September 12th! Adopt Chloe and you will have a superstar for life. She is a cheerful Boxer mix puppy who is full of personality and constantly entertains with her super cute behaviors and facial expressions. Chloe is spayed and about 5 months of age. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She enjoys other dogs very much. Chloe has made a tremendous turn-around. When we rescued her she was skin and bones, very ill with the dreaded parvo virus and demodex. Her owner could not (or would not) provide emergency medical care for her, so death was a certainty if we had not stepped in to save her. Thanks to attentive medical and foster care, she made a full recovery. Now she has her whole life ahead of her, and we know in a committed, loving home she will realize her full potential.

I am jumping for joy because I have a new lease on life!

Update: Andy was adopted on August 28th! One of our volunteers saw a dirty little brown dog scurrying across a very busy city street. She carefully pursued him and cornered him behind a library, where she was able to capture him. She took him home, cleaned him up, and discovered under all of his matts, tangles, and filth that she had just rescued a severely neglected little white Poodle. She believes he had gone for many months, perhaps even beyond a year, without proper grooming or hygiene. She named him Andy , and she discovered that he got along well with her cats and dogs. She brought him to us to get neutered, vaccinated, and then to find a forever home. Andy is approximately 18 months of age. He beams with excitement because he is finally receiving loving care and lots of attention from staff and volunteers. Andy's rescue has been an awakening. He is learning how fun and caring people can be. Today is Andy's big day -- he debuts for adoption. Please come meet this ...
