Zeus , a perfect little gentleman, is wonderfully friendly, polite, and well-behaved.  He is a Miniature Poodle, 6 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with cats & dogs & older kids, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Zeus needed us because of a previous family member's asthma and allergy challenges.

Colby, March 20 Colby, March 19 Colby, March 19 Colby is brightening and understanding that loveless days are over and that his future may be full of adoration. He is a super cute Miniature Poodle, 10 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Colby was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his severe neglect.  Special thanks to Hair of the Dog spa for cleaning and grooming him so handsomely to help give Colby a fresh start.

Charlie is an earnest boy who must wonder if he dares to let himself become hopeful again.  He was so matted, and likely unloved, at the time of rescue that we had to have his coat completely shaved off to give him a fresh start.  Charlie is a Miniature Poodle (21 pounds, larger than a Toy Poodle), about 7 years of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Charlie loves other dogs and he is beginning to believe in people.  An experienced home is needed for his continuing progress.  Please help Charlie find a hero to help him reach his full loving potential.

For Dawn , a cheery and light-hearted girl, life is like a picnic.  Pet'ographique captured her personality beautifully in this brand new portrait to help Dawn find a loving, forever home.  She is a Peke-A-Poo (Pekingese & Poodle), about 5 years of age, spayed, housetrained, crate-trained, good with dogs and older kids, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Dawn's previous owner said she just could no longer take care of her.

Jerry looks like a superstar, now that we have groomed him, trimmed his nails, shaved away the matts and knots and dirt, and put him on premium nutritious food. But emotionally recovering from many months of severe neglect will take more time, and we are happy he is making steady progress, starting to enjoy all of our fussing on him and attention. Jerry is an apricot Miniature Poodle mix, neutered boy, 2 years young. He is intelligent, attentive, and he has an easy-going temperament. Jerry bonds well with other dogs.  Please budget extra for regular professional grooming care to keep him looking and feeling his best. We rescued him from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space for him.

Update: Colin was adopted on February 5th! Colin is a young boy with wise, expressive eyes pleading for understanding. He is fun, spunky, energetic, and very handsome. Colin is a Miniature Poodle debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is neutered and just about one year of age. Please plan on regular professional grooming care for him and budget extra accordingly. Colin enjoys other friendly dogs.  Please come meet him and you can ask for him by name at our headquarters.  We rescued him from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space.

Update: Mauricio was adopted on January 31st! A sensitive youngster who yearns for kindness and understanding, Mauricio's fear of new people is heartbreaking. We strongly suspect his previous owner screamed and raged at him, melodramatically cursing instead of giving a puppy the patience and good guidance needed in a gentle manner. Mauricio still believes in people though, and he is eager to share his heart with someone with a tender touch. He is a Miniature Poodle with stunning good looks, neutered, about 2 years of age.  We rescued him from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space to keep him. Mauricio enjoys other dogs and needs regular professional grooming care.

Brinkman delights in dancing and entertaining you to win smiles and good cheer. He is a cute, light-hearted youngster debuting for adoption today, a Miniature Poodle, neutered boy, just under a year of age. Brinkman is compatible with other friendly dogs and requires regular professional grooming care (so budget extra accordingly, please). We rescued him from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space for him.  His background is mostly unknown, except that he was outdoors fending for himself. Please cherish me him every day and emphasize to him that he is a valued member of the family.

Update: Sherman was adopted on January 7th! Sherman's gentle, tender spirit is very touching. We are rooting for this boy, as he continues to improve, on a journey toward realizing that he is worth loving. Sherman used to feel lower than a mud puddle, the victim of extreme neglect and malnutrition, and as you can image he had no self-esteem that we could detect. He arrived in our lobby, stuffed inside one of the dirtiest crates we have ever witnessed, crammed in with a momma dog and her 4 newborn puppies.  All six had been living in it for weeks.  (The women who brought them in gave us conflicting accounts about their backgrounds.)  Momma (Lilly) and her babies are receiving loving care with one of our staff until they too are ready for adoption. We cleaned Sherman up, had him neutered and chipped and vaccinated, and he debuts for adoption today.  Sherman is a Poodle & Terrier mix, just 2 years of age. Now that he is eating premium food we believe...

Update: Bella was adopted on December 18th! Fortunately, Bella is now safe at Nevada SPCA, in good hands until she finds a forever home. But this baby girl could easily have found herself in a danger situation when her previous owner peddled her off on one of those anonymous web sites where people give away or sell old furniture and other items. Horrified that she was being treated like property, a kind woman took her and brought her to us to be spayed and adopted into a loving home. We love this little doll!  She wiggles with joy and anticipation when she greets you. Bella is most likely a Poodle and Wheaton Terrier mix.  She is spayed and about 3-4 months of age.  She may grow to medium size. Bella loves playing with other friendly dogs.  She will need your patience and good guidance to complete housetraining.  Also, please plan on regular grooming care and careful puppy-proofing of your home and yard.

Update: Bella was adopted on December 11th! Bella is a tender-hearted young girl with a cheery disposition. She is a beautiful Miniature Poodle mix, spayed, just a year of age, debuting for adoption today. Bella needed us when a family member in her previous home was found to be allergic to her. Besides getting along very well with dogs, she is reportedly housetrained and fine with cats too. Please plan on regular professional grooming care to keep her looking and feeling like a million bucks. Bella is shy initially with strangers, so a gentle home is best for her.

Update: Lissie was adopted on December 24th! Lissie's playful, fun-loving spirit is being rejuvenated with loving care. We rescued her from another shelter.  She was a ball of filthy knots and tangles.   We shaved her down, in some cases down to the skin to remove the mats, and previously hidden underneath all of the grime was this gorgeous young lady. Lissie is a Miniature Poodle mix, spayed, approximately 2 years of age, and today she debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org). It is beautiful watching the sparkle come back to her eyes as she prepares for a bright future. Lissie enjoys other sweet dogs and she needs regular professional grooming care.  Please come meet and adopt her today.

Update: Kasey was adopted on December 7th! Kasey is finding pampering and loving care very much to his liking. His exceptional cheeriness is heart-warming.   He was so excited this morning to be photographed for his big adoption debut that he was almost skipping down the hallway, a spring in his step and a broad smile on his face. Kasey is a Miniature Poodle we rescued from another shelter that ran out of room to keep him.  He had been taken there after being rescued as a stray on the outskirts of the Vegas metro area near a busy road. He delights in other sweet dogs and he needs regular professional grooming care, so please plan and budget extra accordingly.

Update: Francine was adopted on November 18th! On behalf of Francine -- here showing off a festive costume -- and all of us at Nevada SPCA, we wish you and your loved ones a fun, safe Halloween. Friendly reminder: Please keep companion animals indoors, but away from the chocolates and candy and strangers who come to your door trick-or-treating. A suggestion: A baby gate (under $10 at major department stores) at your front door may help keep your animals from running out when children ring the bell, or keep them from lunging at kids yelling "Boo!" when you open the door. Update: Cisco was adopted on February 9th! This little bandit can steal your heart in seconds flat. Cisco is cute, engaging, and irresistible, especially once he starts chatting with you or dancing on his hind legs. He is a Miniature Poodle, neutered male, 4 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued him from another shelter, so his background is mostly unknown.  He had a large scab on his neck, presumably from a collar that had been dangerously tight and rubbing him raw, but he is healing well. Cisco enjoys other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming care.

Update: Mac was adopted on October 5th! At the time of rescue it was clear this puppy had never before been brushed or groomed.  Even worse, he had been living in filthy conditions and had urine burns on his paws. We shaved him all the way down to the skin, freeing him of knots and tangles and filth, symbolic of the lifestyle he permanently leaves behind. Today, Mac debuts for adoption.  Come meet this adorable baby boy and enjoy his friendly, loving nature. Now that he is eating nutritious food, we expect his coat to grow back beautifully.  And, more importantly, his personality is blooming. Mac is a cute Poodle mix, neutered male, about 6 months of age.  He is compatible with other sweet dogs and needs regular pro grooming care (so please budget extra accordingly).

Update: Rocky was adopted on October 23rd! Rocky is ready to steal your heart. He is an especially endearing, lovable, playful youngster. We rescued Rocky from another shelter that had run out of space to keep him. He is a Miniature Poodle mix, neutered male, about 2 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Rocky enjoys other sweet dogs and needs regular brushing and grooming care. He responds best to those with soft voices and a tender touch.

Update: Max was adopted on January 8th! Max is a very intelligent little guy who 'sits' and 'shakes' and follows finger point directions. He aims to please and hopes you will engage him in a game of fetch. Max is a noble Miniature Poodle, neutered, young at heart at 8 years of age, debuting for adoption today. He needed us because his of his previous owner's deteriorating health. His special needs are that he has a mild heart murmur (medications are not needed at this time) and he only likes to go potty on walks. He reportedly does not like going to the bathroom in the backyard and will instead hold it until it is time for a walk. Max enjoys other friendly dogs and needs regular professional grooming care. He reportedly loves going to get groomed. Adults-only please. He reportedly can get nippy when fearful or overly anxious.

Update: Charlie was adopted on August 14th! At the time of rescue Charlie was so filthy and matted we had no choice but to shave down his coat. Underneath all of the tangles, as you can see, is this radiant, precious young boy with a heart of gold. Despite his difficult start to life, he has a cheerful, optimistic nature. Charlie is a Miniature Poodle mix, neutered male, about one year of age. He enjoys other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming care. Charlie debuts for adoption today.

Update: Echo was adopted on June 5th! Echo is very warm hearted with those he knows and trusts. Though shy with strangers, he will thrive in a stable, loving home environment, allowing his personality to shine. Echo is a good-looking Miniature Poodle mix, neutered male, just under 4 years of age. We rescued him from another shelter. He is compatible with other sweet dogs and needs regular grooming care.
