What did dumping me teach the child?

Countless innocent animals, like Scarlet, get kicked out of families in order to punish children.  It is a common problem with tragic implications.

Caring for animals and making them members of the family, instead of using them as toys, is an adult responsibility.

Having children sometimes assist in caretaking duties can be reasonable, but placing the entire responsibility on a minor surely is unconscionable.

Then imagine the sense of failure and frustration the child feels when the animal is kicked out of the family.  Just as devastating, the kids are taught that animals are disposable and that they can be used as pawns in family squabbles.

Scarlet is now ready for a proper, responsible home where her life will not be treated so recklessly.  She is a beautiful Dwarf & Marten mix rabbit, spayed girl, about 18 months young.

Scarlet adores attention and she has a graceful confidence.

Please ask for her by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.
