Roxy, an inspirational Miniature Pinscher for adoption.

Image
At the time of rescue Roxy was missing her front right leg and her left eye was so severely infected that it could not be saved.  But Roxy's loving spirit keeps her focused on the present and she is happy to be alive and full of devotion.  Cuddle with Roxy while you read a book or watch a movie and she is in heaven.  Roxy is a Miniature Pinscher, spayed girl, about 4 years of age, housetrained, good with cats & dogs & older kids, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Roxy needed us when her previous owners divorced.

Sandy, a sunny Basset Hound and Collie mix for adoption.

Image
Festive and radiant, Sandy is blessed with a beautifully unique appearance and cheery personality. She is a Basset Hound & Collie mix, just 2 years of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Sandy loves kids and adults.  She is good with dogs and reportedly compatible with cats too.  She needs your kind guidance to complete housetraining.  (Her previous owner admitted to making her exclusively outdoors, which is unacceptable.)  She needs to live predominantly indoors as a cherished member of the family.

Zelda, a golden peach for adoption.

Image
Zelda's golden eyes are a beautiful reflection of her soul.  She longs to be loved and to feel like she belongs to someone.  Zelda is a peach & white Bully mix, spayed girl, 4 years of age, housetrained and crate-trained, and great with children.   Zelda needed us because of her previous owner's home foreclosure.

Can we go swimming every day?

Image
Lucy loves to go swimming!  She is a gorgeous Pointer & Labrador Retriever mix, 3 years young, housetrained, good with children & cats & dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is shy with strangers, but very devoted to those she knows.  Lucy needed us when she was left behind and handed away to friends, and so forth, involuntarily playing "musical chairs" with new homes. She needs someone who will commit to her for life.

Rufus is a Siberian Husky puppy seeking a loving, forever home.

Image
Rufus is a jovial baby boy with a playful temperament.  He is a cute Siberian Husky puppy, 7 months young, neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Besides doing well with other dogs his size, he is reportedly great with children and housetrained too. Siberian Husky knowledge is preferred for his adoption.  Rufus did nothing wrong. His previous owners moved and opted not to take him.

I will sing my love to you!

Manley is a terrific, well-behaved boy who loves children.  He hopes to be adopted soon into a loving, committed family where he will be cherished everyday. He is a handsome Rottweiler mix, neutered boy, 4 years of age.  He knows many training commands, including: sit, stay, and speak.  He also loves playing with tennis balls. We rescued Manley from a government-funded shelter.

Can anyone see the beauty inside me?

We are baffled that the months have rolled by and Cara is still not yet in a loving home. She has a great joy for life and a very friendly demeanor.  Give her a few minutes of your time and certainly you will be as charmed with her as we are. Cara is a Miniature Pinscher, spayed girl, 6 years of age.  She is good with dogs and children. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these beautiful portraits that capture her personality and essence to help her get adopted.

The face of an angel!

Luna is a cheery, gentle, older girl anxiously awaiting adoption into a forever home. Besides being housetrained, she is good with children and dogs. Luna is a Yellow Labrador Retriever, spayed, about 10 years of age. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing her beautiful essence in this spectacular pet portrait.

My name fits me perfectly.

Smoochie is a charming boy who loves to give kisses. We love his radiant personality and leonine appearance, made just that much more striking by his gold eyes and winning smile. Smoochie is a Heinz 57, beautifully unique, a blend of many breeds.  He is neutered and about 3 years of age. He is reportedly housetrained and crate-trained, good at playing ball, and compatible with cats and dogs and mature kids. Smoochie needed rescue due to his previous owner's financial collapse. Please ask for this outstanding by name when you visit so that you can spend some time with him in our adoption courtyard.

What did dumping me teach the child?

Countless innocent animals, like Scarlet , get kicked out of families in order to punish children.  It is a common problem with tragic implications. Caring for animals and making them members of the family, instead of using them as toys, is an adult responsibility. Having children sometimes assist in caretaking duties can be reasonable, but placing the entire responsibility on a minor surely is unconscionable. Then imagine the sense of failure and frustration the child feels when the animal is kicked out of the family.  Just as devastating, the kids are taught that animals are disposable and that they can be used as pawns in family squabbles. Scarlet is now ready for a proper, responsible home where her life will not be treated so recklessly.  She is a beautiful Dwarf & Marten mix rabbit, spayed girl, about 18 months young. Scarlet adores attention and she has a graceful confidence. Please ask for her by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

I did nothing wrong, but the landlord said I was not welcome.

Prince , a well-behaved and regal boy, is understandably confused about why he lost his previous home.  (The landlord instituted a no-pets policy.) He is a distinguished White German Shepherd, neutered boy, 3 years of age. Prince is reportedly housetrained, crate-trained, and compatible with mature kids and some dogs. German Shepherd knowledge and/or experience is required for his adoption. He reportedly loves to go swimming!

It is a joy to be alive!

We love and admire Peggy's sunny nature. She has appreciation for every new day and every kind person and dog. Peggy needed us when her previous owner died.  She is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Retriever, spayed girl, about 4 years of age. Besides getting along well with other dogs, she is reportedly housetrained and compatible with children. Peggy moves well on three legs.  She has done so her whole life.  Due to a birth defect, her front left leg is deformed. Please note she is intelligent and a bit of an escape artist, so it is important that you secure your home and yard for her safety and protection.

Adopt me for a lifetime of dazzling fun.

Update: Duce was adopted on February 12th! Duce has the light-hearted, sometimes goofy personality that makes him still seem like a puppy. He is 2 years of age, a Rottweiler mix, neutered boy, ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Besides enjoying other playful dogs, he is reportedly housetrained and compatible with cats and children. Duce needed us when his previous owners moved away without him. Rottweiler knowledge and/or experience is preferred for his adoption.  Please ask for Duce by name so we can bring him into the adoption courtyard to meet you.

Our favorite toys are Teddy Bears.

Sasha Sampson Update: Sasha and Sampson were adopted on February 14th! Sasha and Sampson are noble Doberman Pinschers who needed us when their previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure. They debut for adoption today and they can be adopted separately.  Sasha is a girl of 6 years and Sampson is a chocolate boy of 5 years. They are well-behaved and anxious to please.  Not only are they reportedly good with kind children and dogs, but they are housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained.  Both love Teddy Bear toys and have at least mild fear of water (so we recommend having a variety of water bowls for them to choose from). Both are also sensitive, very loving, and in need of lots of reassurance.  Please only consider them if you have plenty of time and energy to shower them with attention. Doberman Pinscher knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred for their adoptions.

Loneliness is my biggest fear.

Didi is dazzling us with her progress! When we first rescued her she was torn between wanting to be near us or wanting to hide because she had little self-confidence. Thanks to attention from volunteers and staff, Didi now sees people as comforting and delights in bonding and soaking up adoration. She is a chocolate Bully mix, spayed, just over a year of age.  Ready for adoption for a few months now, she hopes she can get a fresh look by potential adopters in light of her improvements. Didi reportedly loves children and she is compatible with some dogs.  A very secure home and yard is needed for her because she reportedly would jump over a 6-foot wall when she got lonely.

I believe in the essential goodness of people.

Update: Harli was adopted on January 29th! Harli has the bright eyes of a puppy. But this wise girl is well past 13 years of age. Harli aches for attention and adoration, and she may cry if you dare to ignore her. She is a lovely Siberian Husky, spayed, debuting for adoption today.  She is reportedly housetrained and crate-trained and compatible with cats and dogs (especially small ones) and kind children. Harli needed rescue when her previous owner became homeless. We cannot emphasize enough the untold emotional rewards that come with adopting seniors.   Please give this jolly girl serious consideration.

No one wanted me when grandma died.

We adore Logan and find him endearing and incredibly lovable. But his heart was broken when his previous owner passed away and the surviving family brought him to us.  He is coming out of the depression well, thanks to staff and volunteers showering him with good cheer and encouragement. Logan is a well-behaved Jack Russell Terrier, neutered boy, about 6 years of age.  Besides getting along well with other dogs, he is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and compatible with cats and children.  For his allergies, please keep Logan on a fish & potato diet. Logan debuts for adoption today.  He has unconditional love to share with you.

Adopt me so I can be your sweet girl for life.

Update: Bridget was adopted on January 22nd! We are charmed by Bridget -- her intelligence, friendliness, and good soul. She is a gorgeous German Shepherd debuting for adoption today.  She is spayed and about 2 years young. Bridget needed us because the cats in her previous home did not like her.  She is reportedly housetrained and compatible with other dogs and mature kids. German Shepherd knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption.

I am not too big to be a lap dog.

Update: Sadie was adopted on January 11th! Sadie is a medium size girl, perhaps slightly smaller, who thinks of herself as a Toy size dog for cuddling and hugging. She loves shaking paws.  She is a lovebug, full of affection and devotion. She is an Australian Cattle Dog mix, spayed, about 7 years of age, debuting for adoption today. Sadie is very good with other dogs and reportedly fine with cats and great with kind children.  She is also reportedly housetrained. She needed us due to her previous owners' home foreclosure.

I can bless your family with unconditional love.

Update: Majesty was adopted on January 20th! We rescued this regal boy from a government-funded shelter that ran out of room for him.  He was reportedly surrendered there when his previous owners lost the family home to foreclosure. Majesty is now debuting today for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is a noble Labrador Retriever mix, neutered, about 8 years of age. He loves everyone -- cats, dogs, and kids -- and he is reportedly housetrained. Like most animals in shelters and rescue programs, Majesty became homeless out of no fault of his own.  Please give him consideration.
