Update: Cotton Candy was adopted on October 8th! If you are seeking a beautiful cat best in a quiet household, then please consider Cotton Candy . She is a snow-white Persian, spayed female, about 5 years of age. Cotton Candy has a mid-grade heart murmur and needs a calmer lifestyle routine, but this does not stop her from climbing to the highest possible points in rooms for her catnaps. Regular brushing and grooming are essential for Persians, so please plan accordingly. She is probably best as the only cat in the home. She may be fine with easy-going, respectful cats too though. Like all cats, Cotton Candy needs an indoor-only home for her safety and protection. Please visit Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms and ask for her by name. She is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered cats for adoption today. Very special thanks to the compassionate people at Pet'ographique for this stunning portrait.

How could they have been so cruel to me?

Update: Larry Sugar was adopted on July 31st! Larry Sugar yearns to believe in people again. But his innocence was shattered by previous owners who vacated their rental home and left him behind, recklessly trapped inside. He was found a week later, traumatized and hungry. Larry Sugar understandably must have his trust earned from now on, and he is beginning to make progress with staff and volunteers. In a stable, gentle, adult-only home, ideally with other dogs for guidance and reassurance, he will continue to rebound and relax. Larry Sugar is a Chihuahua & Dachshund mix, neutered male, 2 years young. He debuts for adoption today.

I am learning that people can be kind.

When this beautiful Angora mix bunny, Savannah , first arrived, our staff and volunteers could not touch her. She was clearly not used to much human contact and wanted nothing to do with people. But Savannah is warming up beautifully. The daily greens and veggie salads may have helped generate initial enthusiasm, and now she is making an effort to receive human touch and interaction. Besides continuing her progress with trust and socialization, she needs regular brushing and grooming because of her luxurious Angora coat. Savannah is spayed and about 2 years of age. Please visit and ask for her by name in our brand new 'Lovebugs' adoption room for rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, and other small animals. She is one of almost 90 rescued, spayed/neutered bunnies for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am as sweet as honey.

Update: Canela was adopted on August 3rd! Despite her glamorous good looks, Canela is a humble, unassuming youngster. She is very playful, loving, and friendly. She is a gorgeous blend of Terrier & Toy breeds, spayed female, one year of age. We rescued Canela from another shelter. No reason was given from her previous owner about why she was turned in there, but he or she did note that Canela is housetrained and fine with mature, older kids. She also loves other sweet dogs. Please be sure to budget extra for regular professional grooming care, several times per year. Canela debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am indeed a kissing bandit.

Chico & Sissy are brother and sister, and soul-mates, and need to remain together throughout their lives. They are very cute, small Terrier mixes, spayed/neutered, and about 3 years of age. Chico & Sissy are reportedly compatible with kind children of all ages. However, their previous owner surrendered them to us when she became pregnant (and no further reason was given for their rejection). Please note they are reportedly escape artists, so a very secure home and yard is essential for their safety and protection. We hope you visit and spend time with Chico & Sissy on our adoption patio. They are anxious to begin their new lives with a committed, caring family.

We are beaming rays of sunshine.

I need you to love me and cherish me.

Image
Update: Tubby was adopted on July 31st! Tubby's big, expressive eyes are surely a window to his gentle soul. He is a sensitive youngster who will do best in a quiet, mellow home with a stable lifestyle routine. Tubby needed us when his previous owner said the "pets getting kicked out," yet did not give us a reason why. As most followers of this site already know, the vast majority of animals in rescue programs and shelters are at no fault when they become homeless. Tubby is good with other mellow dogs and he is reportedly fine with cats too. He is reportedly "mostly" housetrained, so your patience and direction may be needed to complete housetraining. Tubby debuts for adoption today. Please visit and ask for this sweetheart by name.

Please do not let me lose another home again.

Image

Cricket is a Bichon Frise (perhaps a mix), spayed, approximately 4 years of age. She is compatible with other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming care. Please help me build self-esteem.

Image

He is a Rat Terrier, neutered male, just a year of age. He is good with other dogs and he is reportedly housetrained. Jay will do best in a quiet, stable lifestyle routine. He debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA today.

My favorite game is a variation on traditional fetching.

Image
Update: Chewy was adopted on July 28th! Playing regular fetch may be fine for most dogs. But Chewy vastly prefers retrieving the ball and then refuses to give it back to you. So it's more like "retrieve & chase me". He is a happy, darling little guy, generally very well-behaved. Chewy is a handsome Lhasa Apso, neutered, approximately 4-5 years of age. We rescued him from another shelter. Chewy is compatible with other dogs, except around food or treats when his food aggression may kick in. Please be sure to feed him separately from the other dog(s) in the home. Food aggression can diminish with time and with good behavioral guidance from you. Please also plan on regular professional grooming care and budget extra accordingly. Chewy debuts for adoption today.

If you seek love and devotion, your search can end with me.

Image

Update: Nahla was adopted on September 2nd! Nahla yearns to believe in people again. The monsters who had her before failed to understand what a brilliant little treasure she is. Recovering from abuse will take plenty of time and patience in an experienced, adult-only home with a stable lifestyle routine. We rescued Nahla from another shelter on the last possible day prior to euthanasia. Nahla has a heart of gold, but she is wary to let down her emotional walls out of fear she will be struck or screamed at again. She is a Pomeranian, spayed female, about 6 years of age. Nahla enjoys other dogs and may do best with another dog in the home. She also needs regular brushing and grooming. If you have a quiet home and a tender heart, please consider helping her continue to emerge from her shell and help her believe in people again.

I can share a lifetime of devotion and fun with you.

He is a Yorkshire Terrier, neutered male, about 2 years of age. He enjoys other playful dogs and needs regular professional grooming care. Bentley was surrendered to us because he reportedly "won't stop barking". But please consider adopting them together for lifelong companionship (and we will reduce their adoption fees).

Earn my love and I will bless you with enormous affection.

Slyder is now very friendly (with both people and cats) and quite the cuddlebug. Please visit today and ask for this light green-eyed sweetheart by name.

Diamond is a chocolate & white Bully mix with hazel eyes, spayed female, 10 months of age. She is "90%" housetrained, 100% crate-trained, and reportedly compatible with other dogs and kind children. Surely Diamond can challenge the thinking of those who fear the Bully breeds. She is only dangerous if you don't like getting licked on the face. Also, Diamond is reportedly afraid of her water bowl, so it is important to be creative to ensure she has plenty of access to fresh water. (Please be willing to try a range of different bowl types at various places in your home.) Diamond debuts for adoption today.
