Please help me continue my recovery.

Update: Sophie was adopted on February 27th!

We were asked by a local shelter to take Sophie and give her the tender loving care she needed so that she could recover from major trauma.

The best guess (by us and the other shelter and her veterinarian) is that she was struck by a vehicle. Despite no broken bones, she had severe bruising across her legs and body.

The most visible sign of the trauma she endured is in her left eye. She takes daily eye-drops and her eye is expected to recover, though this may take weeks, and she may not fully regain all sight in that eye (it is just too soon to tell).

Sophie is a very sweet Chihuahua, spayed female, approximately 10 years of age.

She loves to be held in your lap and adored. Sophie enjoys other calm dogs and a quieter lifestyle would suit her brilliantly.

Sophie debuts for adoption today. Please open your heart to her, aiding in her progresses and recovery.
