Pure, solid, glistening gold!

Update: Alexis Marie was adopted on January 9th!

This sunny young girl has a smile for everyone.

Maybe she's an angel, sharing a bit of heaven with us as she awaits a new forever home.

Alexis Marie is a Yellow Labrador Retriever, spayed, about 3 years of age.

We rescued her from another shelter. Her front left leg and foot were so badly injured and deformed that she could not walk without causing further damage.

An exceptionally generous Nevada SPCA volunteer and supporter had her examined and cared for at a special veterinary hospital for advanced care. Her leg and foot could not be saved though and her leg was amputated.

Alexis Marie is adjusting beautifully to life on three legs. Living in the moment, she has not fretted for a moment, instead remaining as cheerful as ever before, anticipating her bright new future.

Alexis Marie enjoys other dogs. We do not know if she has ever been around children, but we suspect she would lick and kiss them if they are kind and gentle.

She needs an experienced home to help her continue her progress adjusting to one front leg.

Alexis Marie is so loving and social that it is critical she is adopted by a person, couple, or family who will make her a cherished, integral part of their life and household.
