I witnessed domestic violence.

Update: Dawnielle was adopted on January 8th!

It is clear to us, along with the dog trainers and behaviorists who have evaluated her, that Dawnielle resolved to never again tolerate male aggression.

At the time of rescue, she was still so traumatized by the beatings she witnessed that she would not even let a man within 3 feet of her if she was being held (or on a leash) by a woman.

But the work with Dawnielle is finally resulting in great progress. We are thrilled that she understands that many men are kind and gentle and non-threatening.

Her protective instincts are being overcome by the realization that not all men cause harm.

Dawnielle still requires a very special home, with an understanding of her limitations, where her progress can continue and her "job" becomes to be a loving member of the family, not a protector. A very experienced, adult-only home is needed.

Dawnielle is a Boxer mix, spayed female, about 4-5 years of age. She is full of personality and takes the greatest pleasure in giving kisses and curling up in her unique blue rubber tub.

At this time, she should be the only companion animal in the home.

But if you are looking for eternal devotion and loyalty, and you are willing and able to help a beautiful girl continue recovering her soul, then Dawnielle may be your special one.

Twinkie is the tiniest of dogs -- only 3 pounds! -- but he has enormous unconditional love to share with you.  He is a super cute, super sweet Yorkshire Terrier, neutered boy, 10 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Another shelter asked us to rescue Twinkie because of his dental needs.  We had his teeth cleaned and he is now ready for a forever home.  An experienced home is required for his safety due to his exceptionally small size.

We are Cocker Spaniel & Scottish Terrier mix puppies now ready for adoption into loving, forever homes.

Anna Beanie Little Eric Michelle Nicholas Sisters Anna and Michelle , and their brothers Beanie , Little Eric , and Nicholas , are very affectionate babies who love giving you kisses. We rescued their pregnant mother, a Cocker Spaniel named Mary Poppins from a government-funded shelter.  She had reportedly been bred with a Scottish Terrier.  We placed Mary Poppins in a loving foster home and she gave birth to these five angels and raised them there. Mary Poppins is going to be adopted by her foster family.  Her puppies are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption. Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

Update 2: Jellybean was adopted on November 11th! Update: Licorice was adopted on November 9th! Licorice and Jellybean , brother and sister, are nicknamed " The Sweet Candy Puppies " due to their affectionate, adorable temperaments. They are most likely Retriever mixes and may grow to medium or large size. They are spayed/neutered, approximately 3 months of age, and they debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. The Sweet Candy Puppies were rescued after being found abandoned on the streets. Jellybean was injured with a hairline fracture in her right rear leg. We had her leg treated and it had been bandaged and she was resting for nearly a month. She recovered beautifully. Licorice and Jellybean can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting them together for lifelong love and companionship. They are terrific together!
