Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Emmett , 8, noble and thoughtful, turns into a wiggly, kissing, puppy-like boy when you smile and praise him.  He is a handsome Boxer, neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Emmett was at another shelter that asked for our help because he cannot be around other dogs.

Hannah is a zany-fun baby girl and she is great with kids and dogs. She loves running and playing, learning all the time, and bonding with everyone around her. Hannah is reportedly a Boxer and American Bulldog mix. She is 5 months of age, spayed, housetrained & crate-trained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Hannah needed us due to her previous owner's financial hardship.

Lacy , a very pretty and friendly Boxer, enjoys playing with kids and dogs.  She has a wonderfully expressive face and she is housetrained, spayed, 5 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Lacy needed us due to her previous owners' home foreclosure.  Please visit and ask for Lacy by name.

Elmer's fortunes have changed and he seems to be realizing this and relaxing around us.  He is one of dozens of Boxers who were in desperate need at the home of a breeder who became very ill.  Animal organizations throughout the region rescued all of the dogs.  Elmer is the first of the four Boxers rescued by Nevada SPCA to be available for adoption.  He is 2 years young, now neutered, and he has enormous loving potential.  Elmer reportedly gets along best with men, though we have seen him do well with both men and women.  Please help Elmer get a wonderful new owner who will help him continue his progress.

Joanie has a sparkling personality and infinite enthusiasm to share with you.  She is a Bully & Boxer mix pup, spayed, 11 months of age, compatible with most dogs, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Presumably due to a birth defect, Joanie's nose and jaw slant in opposite directions.  But all indications are this is just cosmetic, as she eats and uses her mouth and nose normally, and this just gives her big, exuberant grins. Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety and protection.

If you prefer a calm and gentle older dog, will you please give consideration to Jonelle ?  Jonelle is a very sweet spirit, humble, and full of unconditional devotion she is very ready to share with you.  Jonelle is a Boxer mix, medium size, spayed, about 8 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued Jonelle from another shelter.  She had a small eye growth at the time of rescue, which we had removed, and she has healed well.

Cornelius Tremble Cornelius and Tremble are exuberant, inquisitive baby boys debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Their mother is a rescued Boxer (since spayed and adopted) and their father is unknown.  The boys are neutered, about 5 months of age, and they can be adopted separately (though please consider adopting them together for lifelong companionship). Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

Lester Jester Blaze Update: The three boys were adopted on February 5th! These baby boys are exceptionally sweet and adorable. Lester , Jester , and Blaze debut for adoption today.  They are Boxers, neutered, about 6 months of age, with stunningly expressive eyes. They are playful and rambunctious with another, fun-loving, seemingly always ready to entertain. Lester , Jester , and Blaze are the sons of Loni (pictured below), who was abandoned, pregnant, tied up to a post behind a veterinary clinic. ( Loni has since been spayed and adopted.) The boys can be adopted separately, but they are terrific together, so please consider a pair or the trio for lifelong love and companionship. Update: Lucy was adopted on January 15th! Lucy was the victim of starvation. Her previous owner said he left her with one of his son's friends to care for her when he moved away, but when he returned five months later she was skeletal from extreme neglect. We are glad to have Lucy here for her physical and emotional recovery, and so that we can find her a compassionate new owner who will never let her experience the horror of starvation and abandonment again. Lucy debuts for adoption today.  She is a lovely Boxer mix, brindle and white, spayed, and approximately 5 years of age.  She is reportedly housetrained and compatible with dogs and mature kids. Her recovery will need to continue in her new home.  Please note that she was so traumatized from her starvation -- her spirit was as limp as her body -- that she refused to eat dog food despite being so hungry.  We lured her back to eating with human food, which she just could not resist.  A variety o...

Update: Tank was adopted on November 30th! Good with children of all ages, including toddlers, Tank is a cute youngster who is ready to join a loving family today. He is inquisitive, fun, and friendly.  He reportedly enjoys kong toys the most -- the kind of toys you stuff with treats or peanut butter that can keep him engaged for an hour or more. Tank is a medium-size, tri-color Heinz 57, most likely with Shepherd and Boxer.  He is neutered and approximately 2 years young. He is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door). Tank was surrendered to us because his previous owners said they did not have enough room for him in their home.

Update: Lola was adopted on November 26th! We rescued Lola from another shelter that had run out of space to keep her.  She reportedly was surrendered there because she could scale a 6-foot fence. Apart from that one flaw, Lola received a glowing report from her previous owner.  She is housetrained and compatible with dogs and kind children. Lola is a Boxer, spayed female, about 3 years young, and today she debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. We admire her even-tempered disposition and very loving personality. Please give special consideration to securing your home and yard for her safety and protection.  We do not know the circumstances of her previous fence-jumping, or whether she could get over a similar-size wall or not.  For example, some dogs seek to escape their yards out of loneliness or boredom, or they leap from a BBQ grill that sits against the fence, and so on. Bosco is ready today to bring fun and excitement to your life. He is an outgoing, friendly, engaging youngster with a cheery nature.   He enjoys frisbees, soccer balls, and splashing around in wading pools. Bosco is a handsome Boxer, neutered male, 18 months of age, debuting for adoption today.  Boxer knowledge and/or experience is needed for his adoption. He was rescued by neighbors after his previous owners abandoned him in a foreclosed home.  Bosco is reportedly compatible with other dogs and kind children, plus he is housetrained and crate-trained. Please note he requires an experienced owner because of his alpha tendencies, including jumping on people and seeing what other mischief he can get away with.  Please only consider him if you are willing and able to provide dog training for him.

Update: Gus was adopted on October 16th! Gus loves life and his joyful nature brings daily smiles. He is a good looking Boxer, neutered male, about 3 years young. Besides getting along with dogs, Gus is reportedly compatible with cats and kind children, plus housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained too. He needed us because his previous owner said he worked too many hours to spend proper time with Gus . Boxer knowledge and/or experience is preferred for his adoption.  He needs a special diet (fish) due to allergies, so please plan and budget accordingly.

Update: Vinnie was adopted on October 11th! Vinnie is a youngster with unique good looks.  He is reportedly a cross between an English Bulldog and a Boxer. He's beautiful on the inside too, devoted and sweet.  Perhaps strong-willed and moody on occasion, so an experienced owner is the best fit for him. Vinnie reportedly enjoys other dogs and is compatible with cats and older children.  (Young kids though reportedly make him nervous.) He is neutered, 2 years of age, and debuting for adoption today.  Vinnie needed us when his previous owners divorced and he ended up with neither of them.

Minnie & Molly are sisters whose bond only grew stronger when they experienced the trauma of abandonment in a foreclosed home. Fortunately, a caring neighbor suspected the girls were trapped inside and took steps to get them saved. Minnie & Molly still believe in people. They have big, sweet smiles to share with everyone kind, and you can see their tails wagging in excitement to greet you. The girls are Boxer and Retriever mixes, spayed, about 8 years of age, and debuting for adoption today. At the time of rescue both had advanced medical needs. We had a tumor on Minnie's uterus removed and multiple mammary tumors on Molly removed. They bounced back and recovered beautifully. Kara loves people and she has an inquisitive, affectionate nature. She is a beautiful Boxer, spayed female, approximately 2 years young. We rescued Kara from another shelter, so her background is mostly unknown. She needs to be the only pet in the home and have a lifestyle that keeps her away from other animals. She gets distressed and agitated even seeing another dog in the same room. Kara debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Boxer knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred for her adoption.

Update: Ruby was adopted on January 31st! Ruby's personality dazzles. She is a friendly, loving girl with a very sweet nature. Though shy at first, she is warm hearted with those she knows. Ruby is a gorgeous Boxer, spayed, about 7 years of age. We rescued her from another shelter. Boxer knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption. Ruby debuts for adoption today.

Update: Layla was adopted on August 14th! Layla is an endearing puppy with a bubbly, inquisitive personality. She is a gorgeous Boxer, spayed female, about 8 months young. She debuts for adoption today. Layla needed us because her previous owner said he worked too long hours to care for her properly.
