Please do not give up on me.

Update: Candace was adopted on August 5th!

Banished to living only in a garage. Neglected. Unloved. "Scared of sticks." Doing everything she can think of to avoid another beating.

She is just a puppy, but no wonder Candace is not so sure that she wants much of anything to do with humans anymore.

Yet, Candace craves love and needs to believe in people.

In the few weeks since her rescue, we have seen steady progress. But overcoming her emotional pain and fear will require tons of patience and a gentle touch, so she is looking at a long recovery.

Candace is a petite Poodle & Terrier mix, spayed, approximately 8-9 months young.

Candace enjoys other dogs (and reportedly cats too). We believe she will do best with a 'big sister or brother' dog in the home to help show her the way. Please plan on regular grooming care too.

Unable to protect herself from being hit, she became nippy. Therefore, she must have no access to young children.

With positive guidance, in time, Candace will realize her full potential and her experience with the dark side of human nature will hopefully be forgotten or buried below many loving memories of good experiences with caring people.
