I am one of 6 Shih-Tzus who became homeless when our owner died.
Update: Tommy was adopted on November 1st!
Tommy's charm emanates from his easy-going nature and innocent spirit.
He is a handsome Shih-Tzu, neutered male, about 4 years of age, debuting for adoption today.
Tommy is great with other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming care.
We rescued him and 5 other Shih-Tzus from another shelter. They had been taken there when their previous owner passed away, and unfortunately, all 6 needed dental work and grooming. We have provided this care for them -- Tommy had a dental cleaning and 8 extractions -- and they are becoming available as their adoption preparation is completed.
A quick note on dental decay. This varies with each dog, of course, but we usually do not see this much tooth decay on young dogs unless they are eating a bulk of tablescraps instead of their dog food. This is our speculation for these six, but we have no way of knowing what their lifestyle was previously like. So, please consult with your veterinarian about soft food and treats, plus steps you can take for dental maintenance.
