Saving Baby Animals & Fragile Lives

Sister Fallon Sister (nicknamed "Sissy") earned her name because she likes grooming other rescued "kits" (baby bunnies). She was rescued Sunday by children who noticed that she was being chased by a dog. Sister is just a few weeks of age and thriving in a loving foster home. We are in overdrive preparing for an estimated 5,000 motherless newborns and homeless pregnant animals this spring and summer, based on escalating trends from the past six years. So we are enormously grateful to the donors (Tina Walls, Leslie Hollmann, and anonymous donors) who are matching/doubling all online donations to Nevada SPCA through March 23! Please help spread the word that every contribution matters. Gifts of $5 can buy kitten or puppy formula plus nursing kits. Fallon , a newborn kitten just days old, is building strength every day. Found near Boulder Highway without the safety and care of a home, she was in imminent peril. Thank yo...

We both love kids, so what was the problem?

Update: Chico & Sissy were adopted on August 24th! Adopt Chico & Sissy and welcome two petite angels into your life forever. They are playful, animated, often silly youngsters, full of love. Chico & Sissy are brother and sister, and soul-mates, and need to remain together throughout their lives. They are very cute, small Terrier mixes, spayed/neutered, and about 3 years of age. Chico & Sissy are reportedly compatible with kind children of all ages. However, their previous owner surrendered them to us when she became pregnant (and no further reason was given for their rejection). Please note they are reportedly escape artists, so a very secure home and yard is essential for their safety and protection. We hope you visit and spend time with Chico & Sissy on our adoption patio. They are anxious to begin their new lives with a committed, caring family.

I would love to have a sister to be my lifelong companion too.

Update: Polly Anna was adopted on October 26th! Polly Anna is an adorable baby girl with an inquisitive nature. She is an American smooth-coated guinea pig, about 6 months of age. We rescued her from another shelter. Polly Anna is especially enthusiastic for her daily servings of Timothy hay and parsley. Guinea pigs are social animals, like us, so she will do best with another female guinea pig for companionship. If you do not have a female guinea pig also in need of a sister, then please only consider Polly Anna if you are very open to adopting one for her in the future. Polly Anna debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Parsley is my favorite food.

Update: Lucille was adopted on September 8th! Gentle. Adorable. Sweet. Friendly. Social. Lucille is a young lovebug with an outgoing nature. She is an American guinea pig, about 18 months of age. Lucille has very striking chocolate and white coloring and her eyes are quite expressive. Lucille would love to have a sister. If you have a female guinea pig who needs a lifelong companion, please visit Lucille and we can arrange a meeting between the two to ensure they are compatible. Please remember the many domesticated species besides cats and dogs who become homeless and need rescue. At Nevada SPCA we generally have at least 15 species of domesticated companion animals in need of new, loving homes.
