Trixie

Image
Trixie , now groomed and eating premium food, is unrecognizable from the tangled, matted condition she was suffering from at the time of her rescue on the streets.  She is a delightful Miniature Schnauzer, about 6 years of age and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .

Stanford

Image
Stanford is a bashful boy building confidence and he is ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is a Yorkshire Terrier mix, 6 years of age, neutered, and good with other dogs. Stanford was found on the streets in poor condition (hernia, dental problems, no sign of responsible ownership).  He is healing very well physically and making good progress emotionally too.  Please help find someone gentle for Stanford to love.

Kindness is helping me heal and bloom.

We are so proud of Ranger's physical and emotional healing from abuse, as well as deeply grateful to the volunteers helping him understand that humans can be kind.  Ranger's right front leg was injured beyond repair at the time of rescue due to extreme trauma.  He has been adjusting well to life on three legs and he is ready to join a loving, stable, forever home.  Ranger is a super sweet Chihuahua mix, 2 years of age, good with other dogs, neutered, and available for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these cute portraits to help Ranger .

My neck has healed so well, but my heart still hurts.

Douglas, debuting for adoption October 24 Douglas has been healing for 10 weeks.  Today, he triumphantly debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He is a very sensitive, 9-pound, 9-year-old Chihuahua & Toy Fox Terrier mix, now neutered. Douglas is good with other dogs and housetrained. Douglas was reportedly abused for years by both adults and children.  At the time of rescue, in August, he had a large, jagged laceration across the right half of his neck and his wound was severely infected. The veterinarian who saved his life said the cut was consistent with being from a knife or from having his head stuck in something sharp. We have decided against publishing the picture of his open wound.  Instead, below, we have included two pictures of him healing in September, the staples showing the outline of the long cut. Understandably, Douglas is very wary of strangers.  But we are proud of him for accepting our care and maintaining hope despite all he has ...

What does it feel like to be loved?

Angel is a very petite, dainty young Papillon mix recovering from severe malnutrition.  She yearns for love and adoration and the feeling of being safe.  Angel is 1 year of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She was in very poor, underweight condition, with splotchy hair loss, at the time of rescue.  But Angel is now on premium, probiotic food and we have seen substantial improvements in her energy levels and appearance already.  Please help Angel find a hero who will adopt her and help her continue to reach her full loving potential.

Cary, healing beautifully physically and emotionally from dog fighting, triumphantly debuts for adoption today!

Image
Look at how wonderfully Cary is recovering in just 3 weeks!  Here is his original post, minutes after his rescue on July 12 with severe wounds. Veterinarians feared Cary was in danger of losing his right ear, but his surgery has proven successful and his stitches will soon be able to be removed. Cary's emotional healing has been dramatic too.  He gives us kisses, begs for belly rubs, and loves to gently cuddle.  His spiritual healing needs to continue in a new home. He is 2 years young, neutered, and triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Despite his remarkable progress, he must be in a home without other dogs.  Even seeing another dog in the distance causes him great anxiety and agitation. Please help us find Cary a hero who will ensure his recovery continues and he reaches his full loving potential.
