Dharma

Image
Dharma , 14, enjoys peacefully lounging in baskets and gentle laps. She is an Angora & Persian mix sweetheart with two-tone eyes (central heterochromia) spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA . Dharma prefers being the only cat in the room, but may tolerate another cat who respects her personal space needs. We rescued her from another shelter.

Freddy

Image
Freddy , 16, relishes attention and purrs heartily when you gently scratch his chin.  He is a Himalayan & Persian mix, neutered boy, fine with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued Freddy from another shelter and his background is otherwise unknown.  Please share his picture to help find him a hero.

Sunny, a snow-white Persian cat who adores people.

Image
An exceptionally social boy, Sunny will surely greet you at the door when you return home every day, looking up at you with his golden eyes anticipating kind petting and chatting.  Sunny is a stunningly handsome, snow-white Persian, 8 years of age, neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Sunny needed us when his previous owner passed away unexpectedly.

Frisky - a stunning Persian awaiting a loving, forever home.

Image
Frisky is a gorgeous girl with a regal flair. Royalty in the form of a loving, forever home would be grand, and she anxiously awaits someone special who will look beyond her age and sometimes short temper. Frisky is a Persian, spayed, 9 years of age, best as the only pet in the home.  She does not tolerate cats or dogs well.  She prefers people. Please be sure to ask for her by name when you visit Nevada SPCA. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this remarkable portrait to help Frisky get adopted.

Perhaps I am a bit particular, but I am full of love.

Dominique has a complex personality that defies easy explanation. But please have no doubt that she is able to develop a powerful relationship with you based on time, trust, respect, and compassion. She is a gorgeous blend of breeds, perhaps Persian and Ragdoll, with ocean-blue eyes. She is spayed and approximately 6 years of age. Dominique has an independent streak, but enjoys bits of snuggling and petting from you. When she has had enough, or gets over-stimulated, she is not shy about demanding her space again. She is the same with other cats, so she will likely do best if any other cat in the home is respectful and independent too. A quiet home would be dandy for her. Please come meet Dominique in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms. She is ready for adoption today.

I pine for a quiet, mellow home.

Chi Chi's striking leonine appearance is enhanced by her deep orange eyes and her recent shaving (to remove knots). She is an independent, gentle Persian cat awaiting an adult-only home where she would get all of the attention. We believe she will do best as the only feline, though she may tolerate another quiet-natured and respectful cat too. Chi Chi is spayed, approximately 12 years of age, and front-feet declawed (done previously). Unfortunately, declawed cats seem to often get more nippy, and Chi Chi fits that pattern with her play-bites when she is overstimulated. (Note: This is why we do not like to have declawed cats get adopted into homes with toddlers or young children.) She needed us when the senior home she was in previously had to change living arrangements. Please plan on weekly brushing so that Chi Chi never again develops painful knots and tangles. Persian cat knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption. Mention her name when you visit ...

I adore sweet people and tuna fish.

Update: Cotton Candy was adopted on October 8th! If you are seeking a beautiful cat best in a quiet household, then please consider Cotton Candy . She is a snow-white Persian, spayed female, about 5 years of age. Cotton Candy has a mid-grade heart murmur and needs a calmer lifestyle routine, but this does not stop her from climbing to the highest possible points in rooms for her catnaps. Regular brushing and grooming are essential for Persians, so please plan accordingly. She is probably best as the only cat in the home. She may be fine with easy-going, respectful cats too though. Like all cats, Cotton Candy needs an indoor-only home for her safety and protection. Please visit Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms and ask for her by name. She is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered cats for adoption today. Very special thanks to the compassionate people at Pet'ographique for this stunning portrait.

Shower me with affection, please.

Update: Buddy was adopted on September 7th! Buddy's floppy little round ears seem to fit his character. He really enjoys adoration, content to snuggle in your lap and soak up your undivided attention. Buddy is a snow white medium-hair, perhaps with a bit of Persian, with light green eyes. He is neutered and about 5 years of age. Buddy's previous owner passed away. It was the deceased's wish that Buddy and 4 other cats come to Nevada SPCA in the event of death or emergency. He needs regular brushing, at least once or twice weekly. Like all cats, Buddy needs to be safely and strictly indoors for his safety and protection. Please Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms and ask for Buddy by name.

Who will love a sweet old gal like me?

Update: Pixie was adopted on January 9th! Pixie needed us when her owner died and she had nowhere to go. But at 14 years of age, we worry this affectionate, friendly, and very lovable girl will sink into depression due to all of this sudden, traumatic change. Please remember the seniors, long-time residents, and special needs animals who fully deserve and need love just as much (if not more than) the puppies and kittens who get most of visitors' attention. Pixie is a magical girl. She is a petite Persian with striking brown tabby markings. She is spayed and ready for adoption today in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms. Please ask for her by name. Like all of the rescued cats, Pixie requires a strictly indoor-only home where she will be an adored and cherished member of her new family. Persians require brushing a few times weekly, so please only consider her if you can commit to this level of care-taking and grooming.

Persian cats like me need extra care, please.

Update: Paprika was adopted on September 16th! Paprika is a snow-white Persian with radiant orange eyes. He is an affectionate boy, content to be in your lap being held and reassured. Paprika is neutered and approximately 3 years young. Long-haired cats are very eye-catching, but we try to emphasize to adopters that these coats require regular brushing. Cats may be exceptional with self-cleaning, but long-haired cats almost always require human help with their grooming. His ideal owner will have knowledge and/or experience with the Persian breed. Paprika is ready for adoption in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms.
