Karma & Cheetah

Image
Karma & Cheetah , tiny sisters, 10 years of age, offer enormous love and gratitude to the people who are kind to them.  The girls are Chihuahuas, good with other dogs, super sweet, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  The girls needed us when their previous owner became homeless.  Please share their picture to help find a hero.

John, Luke, Mary, Paul, and Peter

Image
John Luke Mary Paul Peter John , Luke , Mary , Peter , and Paul are adorable babies with very loving natures and they debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  The puppies are Chihuahua & Jack Russell Terrier mixes, now about 3 months of age and neutered.  They have been raised and socialized in a wonderful foster home since their rescue. (They were "unwanted" by their previous owner.)  Mary is a girl and the other four are boys. Please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

I want to stay with my mommy.

Candy & Susanna are daughter and mother, precious and petite Chihuahuas debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Candy is about 10 months of age, Susanna is about 3 years of age, and both are now spayed.  The girls are quiet-natured and shy with strangers, but affectionate with people they know.  Candy adores her momma and feels safest at her side.  Adopting pairs can be difficult, so please help these two find someone willing and able to welcome them both into the same loving, forever home.

Bundle us up and take us home, please.

These two petite, older boys cannot understand why no one has adopted them yet.  Zorro & Bagel are good with cats and dogs, and housetrained, with engaging personalities and a very strong lifelong bond. Zorro & Bagel are both 10 years of age, Chihuahuas, neutered boys, available for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for spotlighting them so adorably in this brand new portrait.

James and Majesty, angelic babies debuting for adoption.

Image
James Majesty These precious babies, brother James and sister Majesty , are tiny angels, both with loving and gentle natures. They are Chihuahuas, now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. We rescued their mother Lullaby, pictured below.  She was in labor and a deformed puppy inside of her had blocked her from giving birth.  Lullaby's previous owner was unable to provide medical care to save her life. We rushed Lullaby into a veterinary hospital for an emergency C-section.  The veterinarians were able to save mom (Lullaby) and two of her babies, who we named James and Majesty . Lullaby has since been spayed and adopted into a loving home.  Now its her puppies' turn to find owners who will cherish and adore them every day for the rest of their lives. Lullaby, mother of James and Majesty

The Aloha Puppies debut for adoption today!

Image
Akoni Kainoa Kolohe Kuuipo Nainoa Rescued when they were just a couple of weeks old and in great need, we placed them in a loving home environment with a foster mom.  Heroically, she nurtured and socialized these five baby boys to good physical and emotional well-being. Nicknamed " The Aloha Puppies " due to their Hawaiian names, these brothers are playful and loving and enjoy squeaky toys and cuddling together in doggie beds. They are unique Heinz 57s, perhaps with Chihuahua and Terrier, expected to remain small (or grow to medium size at most).  They are now 3 months of age, neutered, and ready for adoption. Please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

Tiny babies with big personalities -- puppies ready for adoption.

Boo Berry Count Chocula Franki Berry These three precious puppies were lovingly raised in a foster home after their rescue.  All have sugary-sweet personalities and gentle, loving natures. They are Chihuahua mixes, now 7 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Boo Berry and Count Chocula are boys and Franki Berry is a girl. Please carefully puppy-proof your homes and yards for their safety and protection.

Keep us together forever, please.

Cheyenne & Dakota Cheyenne Dakota Cheyenne & Dakota are tiny lovebugs and soul-mates awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA ( www.nevadaspca.org ). They are teacup Chihuahuas, girl and boy, spayed/neutered, 7-8 years of age, and fine with other dogs.  They are also reportedly housetrained (with pee pads).  Cheyenne & Dakota adore adults, but since Cheyenne can get grumpy, they require an adult-only home. Strongly bonded, they need to remain together forever.  Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for them by name. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these fun, amazing portraits.

All of these years, and all they wanted was to exploit us for puppies?

Image
Bonnie Bear   Bonnie & Bear were thrown away in after-hours cages at another shelter by their previous owner. The pair are very strongly bonded, soul-mates, and the shelter asked Nevada SPCA to take them so we could find them a forever home together. Bonnie's anatomy reveals that she has been bred for puppies many, many times.  Both Bonnie and Bear are Chihuahuas, about 8 years of age.  Bonnie is a girl and Bear is a boy.  They are now spayed/neutered and ready to join a loving home, which has been denied them until now by a person who has been exploiting them to make money off of their puppies.  Both are sweethearts with mellow, tender natures. Please adopt them and show them that they have a remarkable intrinsic value of their own, just the way they are.

Chihuahua Appreciation Week at Nevada SPCA

Image
Regarded as sacred and mystical in pre-Columbian Indian nations (according to Wikipedia), Chihuahuas are one of the oldest dog breeds, and we agree that they often have magical, wondrous personalities. To encourage people to consider these little gems with big personalities, we are celebrating Chihuahua Appreciation Week at Nevada SPCA and offering 50% off adoption fees for all Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. T-Rex (pictured here), a fun-loving 5-year old, and 64 other rescued dogs qualify for this adoption special. Each is spayed/neutered, up-to-date on major vaccines, and micro-chipped with an ID. In addition, they go home with packets of free food and a complimentary veterinary check-up, and more. Chihuahua Appreciation Week at Nevada SPCA begins at 11am Monday morning on September 20th and lasts through 5pm Saturday on September 25th. This breed seems to be particularly devastated by the ongoing economic and home foreclosure crisis. This is the most Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mix...

Can we count on you to make a lifetime commitment to us?

Update: Debi and DJ were adopted on September 16th! Debi & DJ are sister and brother, precious Chihuahua puppies debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. They are spayed/neutered, approximately 4 months of age, both gentle in spirit and full of love. Please be sure to carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection. Debi & DJ can be adopted separately, but they are wonderful together. Please consider adopting them together for lifelong love and companionship. The babies needed us when their previous owner moved to a new home where pets are not allowed.

When the new baby arrived we got the boot.

Update: Donte & Samora were adopted on September 3rd! It is heartbreaking that loyal family companions like Donte & Samora , and countless other companion animals, get bumped out of households upon the arrival of human babies. Master adapters, most dogs and other pets can adjust to the family's new edition surprisingly well. Donte & Samora are debuting today for adoption and they are ready for a committed home where they never have to worry about rejection again. They are strongly bonded young Chihuahuas, soul-mates who adore one another. Donte is a cute little jumping bean of a boy, full of vigor, while precious Samora is a quieter-natured girl who likes to bury herself in cozy blankets. They are spayed/neutered and about 2 years young, good with other sweet dogs, and reportedly housetrained and crate-trained.

We are sister and brother, and also soul-mates.

Image
Note: Zoey & Riley were adopted on December 24th! Zoey & Riley needed us when their previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure. They are quiet-natured siblings with very warm hearts for those they know and trust. Zoey & Riley are Chihuahuas, spayed/neutered, just under 5 years of age. They debut for adoption today. (Zoey, on the left, has a diamond on her forehead. Her brother Riley has one cute floppy ear.) Besides being sister and brother, they are soul-mates and need to remain together forever. We have discounted their adoption fees in order to encourage a caring person, couple, or family to consider adopting the pair. Zoey & Riley are also well-behaved. Besides being compatible with other dogs, they are reportedly housetrained and good with cats and kind children.

We are used to a quiet lifestyle and getting lots of attention.

Update 2: Tippy and Tiny were adopted on May 28th! Update: Trixie was adopted on May 22nd! Tippy (pictured here) and her sisters Tiny and Trixie are darling girls who needed us when their previous owner became hospitalized. All three are Chihuahuas and spayed. Tippy and Trixie and 2 years young, while precious Tiny is an 11-year old senior. The girls enjoy other sweet, friendly dogs and they are reportedly housetrained (with paper training). They are reportedly used to being with someone who is home almost all of the time. Strangers cause them anxiety, at least at first. Tippy, Tiny, and Trixie can be adopted separately. But please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong love and companionship.

We are young at heart and chock full of love.

Upon first blush, you would never know that Ruby & Gus are seniors. This rustic, timeless, very lovable pair seem to have the innocence and zest for life of much younger dogs. Ruby & Gus are well-behaved and well-adjusted, reportedly compatible with cats & dogs & kids, plus housetrained and crate-trained too. They are Chihuahuas and both are spayed/neutered. Ruby is reportedly 13 years of age and Gus is about 9 years of age. Ruby & Gus needed us because they were abandoned by their previous owners, despite doing nothing wrong and being in their time of greatest need as seniors. These soul-mates debut for adoption today. Please do not look away from them because of their age, as they are every bit as loving and adorable as puppies.

I am trying to forgive them for throwing me away in the desert.

Update: Calm was adopted on March 1st! One of the countless animals abandoned in the desert every year was this sweetheart who was given the name " Calm " by his rescuer. Little ones his size don't last long in the desert wilds, of course. A good Samaritan on a hike saved him as he was being mauled by a big dog, who had apparently also been abandoned out there. Now safe with us, his personality blooming, we find that Calm , ironically, is quite an energetic and playful boy. He is an endearing Chihuahua, neutered male, about 5 years of age. Calm is fine with other dogs, but understandably fearful of big ones. Please adopt him and ensure that he never feels the desolation and tragedy of rejection ever again.

Life is so much more fulfilling shared with my sister.

Update: Max & Gia were adopted together on February 17th! Max (pictured here) and his sister Gia may be brother & sister, despite their varying appearances. Regardless, they are strongly bonded soul-mates and need to remain together forever. Max is more outgoing and loves giving kisses. Gia charms with her calm, quiet, humble nature. Max & Gia are Chihuahuas, neutered & spayed, approximately 5 years of age. They needed us due to their previous owner's financial collapse. Max & Gia are good with dogs, and reportedly fine with cats and kind children too, plus housetrained and crate-trained. They debut for adoption today. Please come meet them.
