Chihuahua Appreciation Week at Nevada SPCA

Regarded as sacred and mystical in pre-Columbian Indian nations (according to Wikipedia), Chihuahuas are one of the oldest dog breeds, and we agree that they often have magical, wondrous personalities.

To encourage people to consider these little gems with big personalities, we are celebrating Chihuahua Appreciation Week at Nevada SPCA and offering 50% off adoption fees for all Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes.

T-Rex (pictured here), a fun-loving 5-year old, and 64 other rescued dogs qualify for this adoption special. Each is spayed/neutered, up-to-date on major vaccines, and micro-chipped with an ID. In addition, they go home with packets of free food and a complimentary veterinary check-up, and more.

Chihuahua Appreciation Week at Nevada SPCA begins at 11am Monday morning on September 20th and lasts through 5pm Saturday on September 25th.

This breed seems to be particularly devastated by the ongoing economic and home foreclosure crisis. This is the most Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes -- 65 -- we have ever had at one time at Nevada SPCA.

Please join us and provide a forever home to a rescued animal in exchange for unconditional love.
