Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell has made breathtaking progress in 30 days, thanks in large part to the triathlon coach, Cyndee, who volunteers and focuses on dogs needing socialization. Tinkerbell, a young, gorgeous medium-size (36 pounds) Shepherd mix is now ready for a special needs adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Tinkerbell is 1 of 7 dogs confiscated from a breeder in horrific conditions. The 7 remained with authorities for more than 18 months while their previous owner awaited trial. Upon her conviction for animal cruelty, the 7 dogs were released to Nevada SPCA for rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption.

Of the 7, Tinkerbell was in the most dire emotional state. (The other 6 are already available for adoption.) On a leash, she was waltzing sideways, too panicked to walk forward. We immediately took her to the courtyard to run and jump, but she instead crawled into a corner and froze there, afraid of all the open space.

Cyndee and our staff gently gained Tinkerbell's trust. She began emerging from her kennel to go for walks and runs with Cyndee. A big breakthrough was getting her to relax and smile so big.

Tinkerbell each day is realizing that a whole new life and way of thinking is happening.

Tinkerbell is compatible with other medium and large-size dogs. She may continue adjusting best in a home with a big sister or brother dog. Please share her picture and help find Tinkerbell a lifelong hero.
