Darian -- before & after -- angelic puppy rescued during the extreme Vegas heatwave.

Darian, just hours after his rescue
It was one of the hottest days ever in Las Vegas, mid-afternoon, in the peak heat of the day.  A person noticed a small "ragged" dog panting heavily under a bush just outside a fast food restaurant.

We got on the phone with the acting manager of the restaurant and pleaded with her to bring the dog inside until we could send someone.  She was very hesitant, worried the dog had rabies and bugs, but eventually agreed and put him in a box just inside the front door.

A Nevada SPCA staff member retrieved him, gave him water and helped him cool and stabilize.  She then took him to a veterinary hospital for continuing care.  His ears and body were covered in ticks, leading the veterinary staff to speculate that he may have originally come from an area outside of southern Nevada.

Now, several days later, Darian is groomed, neutered, and eating premium, probiotic dog food.  He can't believe all the attention and fussing he is getting -- and he loves it!  We tell him he's a little miracle and the brightest of days are ahead.

Darian is a Poodle & Toy mix puppy, about 9 months of age, and today he triumphantly debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org).  He is good with other friendly dogs and needs regular professional grooming care to keep feeling his best.

Please help us find Darian the best of homes where he never again feels worthless or forgotten.  We want him to fall asleep every night, peacefully, knowing he is loved, safe, and comfortable.
