What: 4th Annual Family, Fur & Fun Festival

FREE ADMISSION

Family-friendly event and dogs on leashes welcome (and other species in appropriate carriers).

We welcome all animal lovers to join us for this unique event where we celebrate animal rescue and adoption, while also spotlighting humane education.  Children of all ages earn Animal Hero Badges by participating in fun activities designed to encourage them to appreciate and respect animals.


Tips to get the most out of your day:

DOGS

a) Get a microchip ID for just $5
b) Take a professional pet portrait
c) Enjoy a doggie massage
d) Learn about reiki relaxation
e) Paint with your paws on canvas & create a unique artwork
f) Take a K-9 Good Citizenship Test
g) Win a prize playing Paw Walk (musical chairs)
h) Get a $5 pet tag
i) Find a new brother or sister by adopting a rescued dog or other animal from Nevada SPCA

KIDS

Earn an Animal Hero Badge on-site by participating in activities like these:
a) Make a toy for the rescued rabbits at Nevada SPCA
b) Learn about dog bite prevention
c) Name the rescued animals at Nevada SPCA
d) Play collar toss (like Horseshoes)
e) Get educated on Halloween safety
f) Enjoy pet-themed crafting

ADOPTION

Rescued dogs, cats, bunnies, and other species from Nevada SPCA will be available for adoption into loving, forever homes.  Each cat, dog, and rabbit is already spayed/neutered and microchipped.

FOOD

RAFFLES

With more than 60 raffle items, from pet-themed baskets and deluxe goods to golf packages, there are prizes suited to everyone.  All proceeds support Nevada SPCA's humane education programs.

Twinkie is the tiniest of dogs -- only 3 pounds! -- but he has enormous unconditional love to share with you.  He is a super cute, super sweet Yorkshire Terrier, neutered boy, 10 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Another shelter asked us to rescue Twinkie because of his dental needs.  We had his teeth cleaned and he is now ready for a forever home.  An experienced home is required for his safety due to his exceptionally small size.

We are Cocker Spaniel & Scottish Terrier mix puppies now ready for adoption into loving, forever homes.

Anna Beanie Little Eric Michelle Nicholas Sisters Anna and Michelle , and their brothers Beanie , Little Eric , and Nicholas , are very affectionate babies who love giving you kisses. We rescued their pregnant mother, a Cocker Spaniel named Mary Poppins from a government-funded shelter.  She had reportedly been bred with a Scottish Terrier.  We placed Mary Poppins in a loving foster home and she gave birth to these five angels and raised them there. Mary Poppins is going to be adopted by her foster family.  Her puppies are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption. Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

Update 2: Jellybean was adopted on November 11th! Update: Licorice was adopted on November 9th! Licorice and Jellybean , brother and sister, are nicknamed " The Sweet Candy Puppies " due to their affectionate, adorable temperaments. They are most likely Retriever mixes and may grow to medium or large size. They are spayed/neutered, approximately 3 months of age, and they debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. The Sweet Candy Puppies were rescued after being found abandoned on the streets. Jellybean was injured with a hairline fracture in her right rear leg. We had her leg treated and it had been bandaged and she was resting for nearly a month. She recovered beautifully. Licorice and Jellybean can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting them together for lifelong love and companionship. They are terrific together!
