Update: Bowser was adopted on February 27th! Bowser's charms are many, from his love of playing with tennis balls to his tenderness with cats and kind children. He is a handsome Mastiff with a humble, good-natured personality. He is neutered and just a year of age. An experienced home is needed due to his size and strength, and Mastiff knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred. Bowser is at least partially housetrained, but his previous owner was unclear on whether he is fully housetrained yet. Bowser needed us when his previous owner moved into a smaller living situation. Bowser debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am so ready for my new beginning.

Update: Brooklyn was adopted on March 17th! Thoughtful, tender-hearted Brooklyn has never before had a loving home. Rescued from a puppy mill, where she had been bred repeatedly for puppies to sell at pet stores, we wonder if she has even known human kindness until now. Brooklyn is a beautiful, tri-color Beagle with the warmest golden brown eyes. She is 3 years of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption. Please show her what love, companionship, and commitment are all about. She has been waiting her whole life for this opportunity to find a forever home. Brooklyn is good with other dogs. We believe another dog in the home will help her with housetraining and making the other adjustments needed to learn to live predominantly indoors as a cherished member of the family. Beagle knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption.

My life was saved thanks to your generous support.

Update: Bandit was adopted on February 27th! The dreaded parvo virus can be deadly to puppies, and those without proper vaccines are particularly susceptible to it. At the time of rescue Bandit had been exposed to the virus. We had extensive emergency medical care provided for him and he made a full recovery. This charming, lovable puppy is now ready for adoption, beginning today, his future bright and full of tremendous promise. Bandit is reportedly an Australian Terrier & Poodle mix. He is neutered and approximately 6 months of age. He enjoys other dogs and needs regular brushing and grooming. Please visit and ask for Bandit by name at Nevada SPCA. (Please know you can always ask for animals by name at our front desk and we will bring them to the lobby and courtyard to introduce to you.)

I love napping near a window and soaking up the sun.

Update: Momma was adopted on February 27th! Give Momma a belly rub and she will purr in gratitude. She is a gorgeous, young Siamese mix with stellar blue eyes and a raccoon-like tail. She is spayed and approximately 3 years of age. Momma needed us because of her previous owner's financial collapse. She needs, deserves, and requires a strictly indoor-only home for her safety and protection. Please ask for Momma by name in the free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms at Nevada SPCA. She is trying to patiently await you so she can get started on her new life .

Help me gain peace-of-mind and the feeling of belonging.

Update: Blake was adopted on February 27th! A big brother or sister dog could do wonders for Blake . Dogs lacking socialization often adjust so much better, and quicker, when there is a well-balanced dog in the home to help guide them. Blake could hardly be any cuter, a peaches & white, painting-perfect youngster with Toy & Terrier. He is neutered, just a year of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued him from another shelter, so we do not have much background information on him. Blake needs to build trust and confidence, in people and in himself. We believe he can thrive in an experienced, adult-only home with a stable and gentle lifestyle routine .

My soul is beautiful too.

Update: Reese was adopted on March 12th! As good as gold, Reese is a clever, very handsome young boy who is eager to please. He is a Border Collie mix with sensitive eyes. He is neutered, just a year of age, and debuting for adoption today. Reese reportedly loves to play ball and enjoys kind, sweet children. He lost his home because he apparently is not compatible with horses. Reese will need your patience and good guidance to adjust to living predominantly indoors as a cherished member of the family, including completing housetraining. Please visit and ask for this magnificent boy by name.

I see life as being full of magic and wonder.

Update: Paris was adopted on March 5th! Paris is an excitable, jubilant girl who adores other dogs and kind people. She is a Bichon Frise, spayed female, about 4 years of age. Paris is reportedly fine with older, mature kids and needs regular professional grooming care. Her previous owner surrendered her to us because she was having accidents in the house. A steady lifestyle routine is the foundation for completing housetraining. Paris reportedly may have at least a mild case of separation anxiety, so an experienced home is needed. This anxiety can diminish with time and stability, but there are no instant fixes. Paris debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

We were stuffed into a dirty box and thrown away.

Update 2: Cocoa was adopted on February 27th! Update: Cheerios, Fruity, and Pebbles were adopted on February 26th! Certainly it's true, that one person's trash is another person's treasure. But cruelty surely reminds us how important animal rescue is, because while human nature can inspire us, on a daily basis it horrifies us too. Cheerio, Cocoa, Fruity & Pebbles are joyful, cuddly, gorgeous puppies. We nicknamed the girls " The Good Morning Sisters ". (Fruity & Cocoa are pictured above. Their sisters can be seen on the main Nevada SPCA web site .) The Good Morning Sisters are most likely Terrier & Toy mixes and we expect them to remain small, though it's possible they could grow to medium size. They are spayed and just a bit older than 2 months of age. The girls can be adopted separately, but lifelong loving companionship is critically important, and they have been through so much together already, so we urge you to consider adopting a pair.

My brother and I are so loving. We will steal your heart.

Update: Chevy & Jeter were adopted together on March 27th! Chevy (pictured here) and Jeter are cheerful, warm hearted young boys with Teddy Bear faces. The brothers are blond Chow Chow mixes, neutered, approximately 3 years of age. Chevy & Jeter bring sunshine with them everywhere they go. Within moments of meeting them you will understand this immediately. They simply glow with love. Chevy & Jeter are also well-behaved, good with dogs and kind children, plus housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained too. The boys need regular brushing and grooming care. Jeter's right eye was injured earlier in life and is smaller than his left eye, but does not require medical attention at this time. Chevy & Jeter needed us due to their previous owner's financial condition. They debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please ask for them by name.

Please shower me with attention and adoration.

Update: Mocha was adopted on February 24th! Such a sweetheart, Mocha is a precious puppy with a loving nature. She is a Yorkshire Terrier, spayed female, 9 months of age. Mocha needed us because of her previous owner's financial problems. Besides enjoying other friendly dogs, she reportedly is compatible with older, mature kids, and housetrained too. Mocha requires regular professional grooming care. Please be sure to budget plenty extra for at least quarterly grooming sessions. Mocha debuts for adoption today.

We are innocent angels who love to bee-bop and play all day.

Update 2: Cunningham and Roll were adopted on February 27th! Update: The Fonz, Potsi, Rattle, Richie, & Shake were adopted on February 25th & 26th! Cunningham, The Fonz, Potsi & Richie, brothers, and their sisters Shake, Rattle & Roll, are the magical babies we nicknamed " The Happy Days Puppies ". (Richie and Rattle are pictured here.) The Happy Days Puppies have been given beautiful socialization, thanks to foster care homes following their rescue (along with their mother) when they were just a day old and extremely fragile. The Happy Days Puppies are now 3 months of age, spayed and neutered, and debuting for adoption today. (Their mom, Mary Jane, already adopted, is a medium-size Terrier mix, and their dad is unknown.) We expect the puppies to grow to medium size. The Happy Days Puppies can be adopted separately, but we strongly urge you to consider adopting a pair, or a trio, for lifelong love and companionship. (Adoption fees are reduced in cases w

Update: Shane was adopted on February 22nd! Shane is a very affectionate, quiet-natured boy with a gentle essence. He is an endearing, attractive Lhasa Apso with the sweetest dark eyes, neutered, and approximately 8 years of age. Shane enjoys other friendly cats & dogs and needs regular professional grooming care (so please budget extra accordingly). He needed us because his previous owner surrendered him without reason. (This is not that surprising, since the vast majority of animals in shelters and rescue organizations have done nothing wrong. In most cases, someone has failed them.) We believe Shane will do best in a calm home, showered with tender loving care, and cherished as a blessed member of the family.

Perhaps the years add grace and wisdom and perspective to us all.

Update: Braun was adopted on March 13th! The more you take a deep look at Braun , and consider his temperament and nature and personality, you see that he is a spectacular jewel. He is a handsome, unique blend of Belgian & German Shepherd, neutered male, approximately 7 years of age. Braun is a well-behaved gentleman, compatible with dogs (but reportedly tries to herd cats), and our guess is that he would enjoy kind, mature children too. Cheery and eager to please, this intelligent boy will want to accompany you and help you as much as possible. We rescued Braun from another shelter. Shepherd knowledge and/or experience is preferred (but not required) for his adoption. Please come meet him today.

My progress with trusting people can continue with your kind touch.

Update: Cinnamon Swirl was adopted on February 22nd! Cinnamon Swirl is just a year of age, but she has already been sold by a pet store and then tossed around from one home to the next. Like all guinea pigs, and other domesticated animals for that matter, she needs and deserves a stable, loving forever home. Her personality is reserved around strangers, but shines and sparkles with those she knows and trusts. In an experienced home, Cinnamon Swirl will continue improving with socialization, reaching her full potential as a companion and family member. Please ask for Cinnamon Swirl by name at Nevada SPCA. Guinea pigs can live for 7 years or more, so please only consider her if you can fully commit to her for this long.

Adopt me for a lifetime of entertainment and enchantment.

Update: Carnival Joe was adopted on February 27th! Carnival Joe loves to rub against your feet and legs, making circle 8's, weaving and purring, delighted to be bonding with you. This lovebug is an exceptionally handsome brown tabby with wise eyes for a youngster. He is neutered and approximately one year of age. Carnival Joe is playful and has a colorful personality, getting along well with both people and other cats. He needed us when his previous owner surrendered him, but it was out of no fault of his own. Carnival Joe is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered cats for adoption today in the free-roaming Cat Condos at Nevada SPCA. Please ask for him by name.

My love lasts forever, so please be certain to make a lifetime commitment to me.

Update: Peaches was adopted on February 22nd! Peaches , a precious, tiny puppy, is confused at the moment about why she lost her home, wondering how she fits in this big, sometimes bad world. She is a Terrier & Toy mix (perhaps half Chihuahua), spayed female, 7 months of age. Her eyes reveal her very innocent, gentle nature. Peaches likes other sweet dogs. We believe she will do best in a calmer, quieter home where she can get more socialization. Peaches needed us because her previous owners were not permitted to have her in their home. Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety and protection. Peaches debuts for adoption today.

I am a blondish bombshell full of surprises.

A plump, curvaceous belle, Mae West is all charm. Though she often has a quiet personality, enjoying her beauty rest, she can shimmy with the best of them when joyful. Mae West is most likely an English Spot and Lop mix, spayed female, about 3 years young. She is a very friendly girl when she warms up to you. We believe Mae West is a good candidate to bond with a male bunny (neutered, of course), so please visit with the staff about a meet-and-greet here at the headquarters. She is one of 70 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

They say I am as sweet as pie.

Image
Update: Meringue was adopted on February 22nd! A fluffy young girl with a tart personality, Meringue is adorable and endearing. She is a lemon & white guinea pig, American breed, about a year of age. Meringue needs an experienced owner because she needs more socialization, requiring patience and a gentle touch. She was apparently sold at a pet store for a quick buck and then handed away from home to home because she is nervous about being held. Meringue may be fine with some other female guinea pigs, but she is picky who she likes. (Our staff can assist with meet-and-greets at the headquarters to ensure compatible matches.) Please visit and ask to meet Meringue today.

I may be the world's most lovable Teddy Bear.

Update: Sini was adopted on February 27th! Sini is a happy-go-lucky, adorable youngster who positively glows with good cheer. She is a petite Chow Chow with a gorgeous rust-red coat, spayed female, about 2 years of age. Sini is beautiful on the inside too, and well-behaved. Besides being good with other dogs, she is compatible with cats and mature children, plus she is housetrained. She needed us because her previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure. Sini would love to be adopted with Shaq, a Chow Chow who is also debuting for adoption. They lived together previously and developed a sweet bond. (They can be adopted separately though.) Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for Sini by name.

I require more responsibility from you, but I will attempt every day to make you proud of me.

Update: Christy was adopted on February 22nd! Radiant and infinitely lovable, Christy is a young girl who enjoys cuddling and belly rubs. She is a Shih-Tzu, spayed, about 2 years of age, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. While Christy shines with most people, she has a mixed record with other dogs. She reportedly has food aggression with other dogs and may sometimes be territorial with certain toys or rooms. This behavior can be diminished, but there are no instant fixes. Instead, a steady lifestyle routine in an experienced, adult-only home will begin to help, and she may need assistance from a trainer or behaviorist too. Please plan on regular grooming care for Christy . She is reportedly crate-trained and partially housetrained (but has occasional accidents if not let outside often enough). Most of all, Christy needs a very committed owne r. She has lost two homes recently -- the first due to home foreclosure, the second due to fighting with another dog. So please only consid

Is this really my golden moment? A forever home may finally be mine?

Update: Eva was adopted on February 20th! Rescued from a puppy mill going out of business, little Eva was used for breeding, denied for years having a loving person or family to call her own. She has never had anyone to bless with all of her unconditional love. Fortunately, Eva lives in the moment, so instead of bitterness about her past, she anxiously awaits her big awakening. Eva is a Shih-Tzu, 6 years of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption. Eva will dazzle you with her sweet, humble spirit. She enjoys other dogs very much. We believe she will adjust best to living indoors and completing housetraining if there is another dog (or dogs) in the home. Please plan on regular grooming care for Eva , budgeting extra accordingly.

Keeping me always indoors is an act of love for my safety.

Update: Honey was adopted on February 22nd! Honey lost her previous owner at her time of greatest need (reportedly due to financial collapse). Mostly blind, and with a mid-grade heart murmur requiring a very calm lifestyle, Honey is 15 years of age and needing a new beginning. She is a Shih-Tzu, spayed female, debuting for adoption today. Honey yearns to be cradled, loved, and reassured that she belongs in this world. Honey is compatible with other sweet dogs and she is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) though she has occasional accidents. Please ask for her by name at Nevada SPCA, adopt her and provide the compassionate touch she needs to live her final years with dignity.

Help ease my terror so I can realize my full, loving potential.

Update: PJ was adopted on February 20th! Behind his beautiful smile, PJ's soul is scarred and needs repair. We do not believe he has been the victim of abuse. But he needs much more socialization and he is terrified of new people and extremely anxious in new situations. PJ is reportedly an American Eskimo and Pomeranian mix. He is exceptionally attractive, a neutered male, just one year of age. He needed us because his previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure. PJ is reportedly housetrained and crate-trained. He enjoys other dogs and we believe he will adjust best in a home with another dog (or dogs). He has not bitten anyone, but he is snappy and nippy when particularly fearful, warning us that he needs more time to adjust. A very patient, experienced owner is needed for him . And to err on the safe side for dog bite prevention, he must have no access to toddlers or young children as a strict condition of his adoption. Please help PJ continue his progress with lea

I am a wonderful cuddler.

Update: Lala was adopted on February 25th! A young sweetheart yearning for a quiet, comforting lifestyle (indoors only, of course), Lala is drawn to gentle people with a tender touch. She is playful at times, but generally more easy-going, most content to snuggle in your arms and purr herself to sleep. Lala is a golden brown tabby with almond-shaped eyes. She is spayed and approximately one year of age. She is fine with other cats, but terrified of dogs. (Her previous owner had dogs and she could not tolerate them.) Please visit Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms and ask for Lala by name. She is one of 200 rescued and adoptable cats waiting to meet you today.

He is neutered, reportedly 11 years of age, and debuting for adoption today. Pete likes other friendly dogs and he needs regular grooming care. We rescued him from another shelter. His previous owner apparently had become too ill to care for him. Distressed by such a traumatic loss this late in life, he licked a small sore on his paw. (This was diagnosed as anxious licking and it is expected to diminish as he settles into a loving home environment again.) Please open your heart to little Pete . He is desperate for reassurance and affection .

I have a world of joy to share with you.

While he enjoys people, we have seen him try to show aggression to other animals. It is a strict condition of his adoption that he has no access whatsoever to cats, dogs, or other animals. Please only consider Hazard if you are 100% committed to providing dog obedience training for him. Hazard debuts for adoption today. Mastiff knowledge and/or experience is required.

Let's go swimming!

Daisy reportedly adores cats, but we have mixed reports with her and other dogs. She needed us because her previous owner could not housetrain her. Boxer knowledge and/or experience is preferred for Daisy's adoption. She enjoys swimming and playing in water. If you don't have a pool, please consider getting her a wading spool and some sprinkler-like water toys for the backyard.

I will reach my full potential with your good guidance.

Adoption is forever. Baby bunnies ("kits") like Mon Cherie then need, deserve, and require loving and committed homes for 10 years, perhaps longer. Mon Cherie has been socializing well here at Nevada SPCA with staff and volunteers. She is still a bit squirmy about being handled, but ever more charming and personable. We rescued her from another shelter. Mon Cherie is an English Spot, spayed female, approximately 5 months of age. We expect her to grow to standard size. An indoor lifestyle is absolutely necessary for her. Rabbits do best in cool temperatures and can perish in the desert heat (even in the shade). I give soft kisses to gentle people.

Update: Mary Jane was adopted on February 18th! Early in December, we rescued Mary Jane and her puppies when her previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure. Her 7 puppies were just a day old and very fragile! Extremely distressed in these circumstances, she nevertheless faithfully maintained her tender care for her puppies. We transferred Mary Jane and her babies into a foster home so they would have a quiet environment and the best chance for survival. He is neutered, about 8 months of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Hunter is very loving and has a calmer nature. He enjoys other dogs, especially gentle ones. Please budget extra for professional grooming care, at least quarterly, plus routine brushing at home each week. As a puppy, Hunter naturally needs to do plenty of chewing. We were alarmed by a report from his previous owner that he was drawn to chewing plants and wires, which is extraordinarily dangerous. Please take any and all reasonable steps to keep him from plants and wires for his protection. Ask for Hunter today at Nevada SPCA.

My heart sings with joy.

This beautiful young lady has made a tremendous recovery the past few months and she now looks and feels like a million dollars. But scars on her ear tips will always bear witness to the extreme neglect she suffered from in a local backyard, fighting for survival without proper food or water with numerous other rabbits. Hester is a Mini Rex with a luxurious blue-grey coat. She is now spayed, just under 2 years of age, and ready for adoption today. Hester is shy with new people, but warm-hearted with those she trusts. We believe she will make a very nice bonding companion to a neutered male bunny. Ginger Ann needs an experienced owner due to her athleticism and hearing impairment. Ginger Ann's hearing is clearly diminished, but she seems able to hear some sounds. Learning and teaching her consistent hand signals will help you communicate with her and keep her safe. An energetic girl, Ginger Ann will benefit from basic dog obedience training. Please only consider her for adoption if you are willing and able to have this training provided for her. Bull Terrier or other Bully breed knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption.

Do not adopt me if you do not like kisses.

Update: Torrie was adopted on February 17th! An adorable lovebug, Torrie enjoys sneaking up and giving you licks on your face. She is a petite Chihuahua with cute, mousy features, spayed female, about 3 years young. Torrie likes other dogs and hopes you will consider adopting her friend Buddy too. (But they can be adopted separately.) She is reportedly housetrained, but has accidents if not given enough opportunities to go outside. Torrie needed us because her previous owner moved in with a relative who does not like animals. Torrie debuts for adoption today.

Give me a lifetime commitment in exchange for my unconditional love.

Update: Gabana was adopted on February 15th! Gabana is a precious puppy with a heart of gold and he debuts for adoption today. He is a Poodle mix, perhaps with Terrier, with hypnotic eyes. He is neutered and about 10 months of age. Gabana enjoys other friendly dogs and kind children. Please be sure to plan on and budget for regular grooming care for him. He needed us because his previous owner reportedly was "over the limit" on the number of dogs at the residence. Gabana was forced to live outdoors exclusively, which is unacceptable on many levels. He will need your good guidance and patience to complete housetraining and adjust to living predominantly indoors as a cherished member of the family.
