Sven is a cute youngster with eye-catching "helicopter ears" and a rich golden tan coat. He is friendly and gentle.

Sven is a Dwarf mix, approximately six months of age.

He was rescued in a park -- easy to catch because he was starving, and he needed to capture in order to survive.

Most likely, he was sold for a quick buck by a breeder as a baby rabbit at Easter.

Each summer we are inundated with "Easter bunnies" who are rejected by their families. Some make it to shelters, but the majority are set loose to fend for themselves in parks, golf courses, and desert areas.

Of course, they are domesticated and cannot survive for long on their own. Soon they are starving, and some wander close to homes and people and get rescued. Countless others die tragic deaths, attracting coyotes into neighborhoods (and threatening cats & dogs) since they are easy prey.

Humane education is one solution, and Nevada SPCA and other organizations are always working to reach people with messages of kindness, compassion, and respect for animals.

Spaying and neutering is another solution. All of Nevada SPCA's rescued rabbits are spayed/neutered before being available for adoption. If you have an unsterilized bunny, please contact us for a spay/neuter referral.

A third primary solution is not buying or in any way supporting the breeding of rabbits and other companion animals. During this extremely severe animal overpopulation crisis in southern Nevada, doing so is simply unconscionable.

Sven is ready now to be a loving companion and family member. Please only consider Sven, or any other companion animal, if you are willing and able to make a lifetime commitment. You can meet and adopt him in Nevada SPCA's Rabbit & Guinea Pig Rescue Room today.

Twinkie is the tiniest of dogs -- only 3 pounds! -- but he has enormous unconditional love to share with you.  He is a super cute, super sweet Yorkshire Terrier, neutered boy, 10 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Another shelter asked us to rescue Twinkie because of his dental needs.  We had his teeth cleaned and he is now ready for a forever home.  An experienced home is required for his safety due to his exceptionally small size.

We are Cocker Spaniel & Scottish Terrier mix puppies now ready for adoption into loving, forever homes.

Anna Beanie Little Eric Michelle Nicholas Sisters Anna and Michelle , and their brothers Beanie , Little Eric , and Nicholas , are very affectionate babies who love giving you kisses. We rescued their pregnant mother, a Cocker Spaniel named Mary Poppins from a government-funded shelter.  She had reportedly been bred with a Scottish Terrier.  We placed Mary Poppins in a loving foster home and she gave birth to these five angels and raised them there. Mary Poppins is going to be adopted by her foster family.  Her puppies are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption. Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

Update 2: Jellybean was adopted on November 11th! Update: Licorice was adopted on November 9th! Licorice and Jellybean , brother and sister, are nicknamed " The Sweet Candy Puppies " due to their affectionate, adorable temperaments. They are most likely Retriever mixes and may grow to medium or large size. They are spayed/neutered, approximately 3 months of age, and they debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. The Sweet Candy Puppies were rescued after being found abandoned on the streets. Jellybean was injured with a hairline fracture in her right rear leg. We had her leg treated and it had been bandaged and she was resting for nearly a month. She recovered beautifully. Licorice and Jellybean can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting them together for lifelong love and companionship. They are terrific together!
