Every day is full of joy and peace since I have my sister with me.

Lorelei Dorothy Guinea pigs, like people, are very social animals and generally do best in pairs. These two baby girls, Lorelei & Dorothy , are sisters and soul-mates, strongly bonded and they want to remain together forever.  They are about 5 months of age, American breed, and we rescued them from another shelter.  Like rabbits, they need to live strictly indoors in our desert climate in order to stay cool and remain safe.  They do not tolerate heat well and can perish in the heat. Both Lorelei & Dorothy are on the shy side, so an experienced home is best for them to help the girls become more socialized. Please ask for them by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

Our mother dug a hole in the ground to keep us from freezing.

Dandy Iris Pansy Petunia Update: All three have been adopted! Dandy and his sisters ( Iris , Pansy , and Petunia ) are nicknamed " Flower Children " and they are the baby angels of Daisy , their mom, who was previously featured on this site and adopted last month. They are Maltese mixes, spayed/neutered, about 4 months of age, ready for adoption today. The Flower Children are the surviving 4 puppies from an extremely neglectful previous home.  Daisy was banished to living outdoors in the winter cold.  She dug a hole to try and save her newborn babies, but 3 of her 7 pups "froze to death". The Flower Children are precious, loving, tender-hearted angels. They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship. Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.  And please plan and budget for regular professional grooming care.

Why did they want to cut my ears off?

Update: Wee Willy has been adopted! Wee Willy is a 5-pound lovebug. He could hardly be any cuter, that's for sure.  But some fool out there tried to "crop" his ears, nicking off the top of his right ear and severely maiming his left ear. This home-style cropping of ears is gruesomely painful and tortuous.  The victims are usually the Bully breeds, in a sick effort to make them look mean, and it is absolute cruelty, using ice and scissors. Wee Willy though still believes in people.  He melts into your arms when you hold and comfort him. He is a Teacup Chihuahua, neutered boy, about 2 years young. Wee Willy gets along very well with other sweet dogs.

Tell us how much you love us every day.

Mocha Cappuccino Macchiato Mocha and her brothers, Cappuccino and Macchiato , are nicknamed " The Cafe Puppies ". They were surrendered to us by their previous owner when some of the litter were sick.  But only two of the babies were ill, Espresso and Swiss Miss, and we provided emergency medical care to save them from the parvo virus.  Both Espresso and Swiss Miss fully recovered and they were adopted last week.  Now it's time for their siblings to find loving, forever homes too. The Cafe Puppies are Labrador Retriever mixes, spayed/neutered, about 4-5 months of age.  We expect them to grow to large size. They are happy, playful, and flamboyant.  Mocha is a bit on the shy side. Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

They gave me away on Valentine's Day.

Ozzie is fond of belly rubs, laying on the floor stretching out his paws as far as they can go. We love his easy-going nature and quiet confidence. Ozzie is a dashingly handsome brown tabby, shorthair, with enchanting eyes.  He is neutered and about 6 years of age. He gets along well with other cats and seems to avoid drama.  We believe he may be compatible with kind children too. Ozzie needed us because his previous owners said they moved into a home where cats were not allowed. Please ask for Ozzie in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms.

I was saved by the kindness of strangers.

Lara was found by a caring couple after she had been abandoned in Red Rock. Defenseless, she would not have lasted long with the elements or the coyotes, so we are deeply grateful to the couple for making the effort and taking the time to capture her and bring her to safety. Lara is an English Spot mix, spayed, about 2 years young. She delights in being held and adored by gentle people. Like all domesticated bunnies, Lara needs an indoor-only where she will be safe and comfortable, and valued as a cherished member of the family. Please ask for her by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

How do I find a person who considers adoption to be a lifelong commitment?

Bocci has tremendous charm. He is as athletic as he is cute, very playful and joyous. Bocci is a small Terrier mix, approximately 18 pounds and 2 years young.  He is neutered and ready for adoption today. We rescued him from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space for him. Bocci enjoys other dogs, especially those who will play and romp with him.  Please plan on regular brushing and grooming.
