Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Update: Sammie was adopted on November 16th! At the time of rescue, this precious puppy was sick with the deadly parvo virus and needed emergency medical care.  We had this provided for her at a local veterinary hospital, and fortunately, after extensive treatments, she made a valiant, full recovery. Sammie is an adorable firecracker.  She is playful, buzzing with energy, and her personality sparkles. Sammie is a Terrier mix with expressive eyes, and she is now spayed, about 5 months of age, and ready for adoption. She delights in bonding with both people and dogs.  Please set aside plenty of time daily to shower her with attention and puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety and protection. Deepest thanks to all of you who donate to Nevada SPCA .  Our ability to save innocent lives, like Sammie , and give them rehabilitative care, is 100% dependent on caring people like you.

Update: Lala was adopted on November 20th! Lala is a beautiful young "wiggleworm" who rolls on her back and purrs into your arms as she melts into your petting. She is a very social girl and would love a forever home where she can soak up loving adoration daily. Lala is spayed, just a year of age or so, and she has enchanting tortoiseshell coloring.  She is now ready for adoption and she anxiously awaits her knight in shining armor. We rescued Lala off the streets.  She was found roaming on the side of a very busy thorough-fare, terrified, close to The Las Vegas Strip. The dangers outdoors are a thing of her past.  This angel is content now to live strictly indoors for her safety and protection. Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn Update: Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn were adopted on November 24th! Staff and volunteers were so impressed with this classically attractive and sweet pair that they selected Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn for their names to emphasize their powerful lifelong bond. They are Dutch rabbits with stunning coloring, spayed/neutered, and approximately 5 years of age. Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn enjoy relaxing in their deluxe-size condo or playing together in a bunny-safe enclosure.  (Our staff can talk with you about making sturdy enclosures that give them freedom each day, indoors-only of course, and keep them away from electrical cords.) The pair needed us when their previous owner moved away without them. Please visit Nevada SPCA's new Lovebugs Room and ask for these two by name.

Update: Twister was adopted on January 7th! This loyal and attractive youngster cannot understand why people keep giving him away. His previous owner surrendered him to us for no reason at all, indicating that whatever dynamic resulted in the break-up of the family had nothing to do with him. Twister is bursting with good-natured, zany fun!  He lights up when he sees you and knows it is time for a walk, or playtime, or treats, or just a hug. Twister is a Labrador Retriever mix, neutered male, less than 2 years of age.  He is compatible with most dogs and loves people with all of his heart. Please pursue basic dog training for him.  This will help him channel his energy into good behaviors, and since he is eager to please, we believe he will catch on quickly to each lesson.

Update: Lilly is in foster care for special attention. Understandably, Lilly has caution in her eyes. But she yearns to love and trust someone gentle. Lilly is a lovely, petite Chihuahua, spayed female, about 3 years of age, and she debuts for adoption today. She needed us when her previous owner kicked her out of the family after having a baby.  She limps because her front right leg was previously broken, but never fixed, so her leg tried to heal on its own and did so abnormally. Besides getting along well with other dogs, Lilly is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained. We prefer an adult-only home for her because she is very anxious with strangers.  But with those she trusts, she showers them with kisses and affection. Please adopt Lilly and show her how nurturing and compassionate people can be.

Update: Andy was adopted on November 20th! Andy loves being in your lap, soaking up adoration, and sneaking kisses on you. She is a petite young girl, most likely a Chihuahua and Terrier mix, weighing only about 6 pounds.  She is spayed, approximately 3 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued Andy from a government shelter that had run out of room to keep her. She enjoys other friendly dogs.  Please plan on plenty of playtime with her daily. Please visit and ask for Andy by name.  She would love to meet you and get to know you on our adoption patio.

Update: Calypso was adopted on November 23rd! Calypso is a handsome, dignified pup with a terrific outlook on life.  He glows with warmth. Born with a club foot (left front leg), he moves around easily on three legs and walks well on a leash. Calypso is a small Labrador Retriever mix, approximately 9 months of age, and he debuts for adoption today. He was abandoned in someone's backyard.  We made room for him at Nevada SPCA and had him neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Besides loving people, Calypso is compatible with other friendly dogs.  Despite being abandoned, he does not seem to have lost his innocence, and he very much believes in the compassion of kind people.
