Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Zoe was found by a man in the desert who was able to capture her and bring her to safety. We traced her microchip ID, but all efforts to reach her previous owner were not successful. Zoe is a wonderfully friendly German Shepherd, 1 year young, housetrained, and now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    While she adores people, she may need to be the only dog in the home. We are still learning about her and determining whether she will tolerate some dogs.

Zoe , a social baby girl who dearly loves bonding with people and dogs, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. She is another of Lilly's babies and she has been raised in a wonderful foster home since her rescue. (You may recall Lilly and her 9 newborns rescued in January from a man who was threatening to shoot them.) Lilly, her mother, and her siblings will be ready for adoption too in the days and weeks to come. Lilly is a medium-size blend of many breeds. Zoe's father is unknown. Original post about Lilly and her babies . Zoe was formerly named Magnolia, and her gold coloration has emerged even more in the weeks since the rescue.

Zoe , 12, likes sitting her front paws in your hands while you brush her. She is an optimistic and very friendly girl, a tuxedo British Shorthair mix, good with cats and dogs, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Zoe needed us when her previous owner passed away. New Year's Eve adoption hours are 10am-2pm. New Year's Day adoption hours are 10am-5pm. Thank you.

Mel, baby boy. Washington, baby boy. Zoe, baby girl. Mel , Washington , and Zoe were rescued from a person handing out kittens to strangers in a large department store parking lot.  We placed them in a wonderful foster home for nurturing care and socialization.  The babies are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Mel purrs loudly in your arms and enjoys snuggling. He plays a bit rough, which is ideal with his brother ( Washington ), but maybe too much for a young child. Washington is a bashful kitten with captivating eyes (ocean-blue with gold speckles). He is still building confidence and feels most at ease around his brother ( Mel ). Zoe likes to try and "catch" the sunbeams coming through the windows. She is quite social and wants to know where are you in the house. If she can't find you, she might cry for your reassurance. A calm home environment is ideal for her.

Zoe is a dynamic, vibrant baby girl debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Her previous owner believed, or was told, she is a Shiba Inu mix.  We're not sure about that, and most likely she is a blend of many breeds (Heinz 57), but we do think she will stay small or only grow to medium size.  Zoe is about 4 months of age, spayed, and good with other dogs, and she is already partially crate-trained.  Zoe loves playing with and chewing old socks and she looks deep into your eyes when you converse with her. She needed us when her previous owners moved away and opted not to take her.

Update: Zoe was adopted on July 10th! Zoe is a precious, petite puppy with a heart of gold. She is a Miniature Schnauzer, spayed female, 10 months of age, debuting for adoption today. Zoe enjoys other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming care. She likes playing with rope toys and gives kisses. Zoe needed us because she had three foxtails (dry spikelets of grass) in her left eye and her previous owner would not or could not provide medical care for her. She is reportedly housetrained and fine with older, mature children. Please plan on regular grooming care for Zoe , budgeting extra accordingly. Miniature Schnauzer knowledge and/or experience is preferred.

Update: Zoe was adopted on November 21st! Zoe is a darling puppy who is ready to bask in the love of a caring owner. She is most likely a Miniature Pinscher mix and we expect her to remain small in size. She is spayed and about 8 months of age. Zoe enjoys other sweet dogs and seems to do best with gentle people. Zoe needed rescue due to no fault of her own. Her owner was reportedly allergic to her. Zoe debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Zoe was adopted on October 1st! Regular readers of this blog already have seen that we are noticing a tragic escalation in recent weeks of people trying to kill their companion animals by throwing them in traffic. Eyewitness accounts indicate these monstrous acts were indeed deliberate, not just extremely reckless and illegal abandonments. We named the beautiful Beagle pictured here Zoe . Our staff relentlessly pursued her -- for 4 hours! -- after she was abandoned in the middle of one of Vegas' busiest streets. Zoe was nearly crushed by vehicles numerous times. But she was so traumatized by being violently thrown away that she just kept running in traffic, with nowhere safe to go. Zoe has been with us just a few days, but she is already starting to build confidence and self-esteem. Her heart is broken and we are trying to ease her feelings of complete loss. Today, she debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. She is spayed and about 5 years of age. Adopt this sweetheart an...
