Violet

Violet , a lovely young maternal girl, likes nurturing kittens, cats, and other animals. She holds and comforts them and cleans their faces while they purr (cats) and wag their tails (dogs). Violet is 3 years of age, a shorthair tabby & white, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. She was pregnant at the time of rescue (unwanted by previous owners who moved away without her). She birthed and raised her babies in a wonderful foster home. Her kittens have since been spayed/neutered and adopted. Please visit and ask for Violet by name.

Aspen, son, just captured! Lilly, mom Douglas, son Fleur, daughter Florian, son Iris, daughter Jacinto, son Magnolia, daughter Rose, daughter Violet, daughter Update: A ninth baby of Lilly's, a son named Aspen, was just captured this afternoon and reunited with his mom and siblings!  All await a foster hero. Original post: Lilly and her 8 babies need a loving foster home please! If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for DJ. Lilly and her babies were rescued yesterday afternoon. An officer found them in squalor and their previous owner was threatening to shoot them. They were missing meals and running loose, at risk of becoming prey to coyotes.  We're so thankful that all of them are here now at Nevada SPCA and we need to find a nurturing foster home where Lilly can continue to raise them (until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered). Lilly is a wonderful mom and sh...

Alicia's Puppies debut for adoption today!

Chewie Ginger Macy Max Pansy Romeo Violet At the time of rescue, Alicia , pictured below, was at another shelter with 10 puppies, just 3 days old.  We placed them into loving foster care for nurturing and socialization. Seven of Alicia's babies are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption.  Three more remain in foster care for a bit longer.  Alicia herself, a young Chocolate Labrador Retriever & Weimaraner mix, will be ready for adoption soon too in the days to come.  (The puppies' father(s) is/are unknown.) Their wonderful foster dad describes the babies as follows: Chewie , a baby boy.  He is very independent and strong-willed.  He loves to explore his surroundings.  He listens well and needs lots of praise. Ginger , a baby girl.  She has spurts of high energy playfulness followed by long moments of down time and she can be a picky eater. Macy , a baby girl.  She is very ...

Violet is a charming baby girl debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She is a Bully mix puppy, about 4 months of age, now spayed, and expected to grow to medium size.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. Violet has been lovingly raised and socialized in a foster home since being rescued (found on the streets of Henderson with no sign of responsible ownership).  Violet's foster mom says she is a confident puppy who adores people.  Violet can reportedly get stubborn when she insists on doing things her way and she won't tolerate another dog around her food.  Please visit and ask for Violet by name.

I dream each day will be the magical day when I find forever love.

Violet has so much love in her heart and she is eager to please you and win approval.  She cherishes her time with the volunteers as she waits for the wondrous day when someone will come and adopt her at Nevada SPCA.  Violet is a young, lovely Bully mix, 3 years of age, a spayed girl, compatible with many dogs.  We rescued her from another shelter. She delights in getting hugs, sitting close to you for companionship, and giving high-fives.  Please visit and ask for Violet by name. [Thanks to Cyndee, a terrific volunteer, for this picture.]

I feel better when you hold me.

Violet is a tiny, 5-pound junior puppy (10 months of age) who yearns for reassurances and comfort.  She is humble and unassuming, very shy, but she will bloom in a loving, stable home environment where she understands that she is cherished and safe.  Violet is a Longhair Chihuahua mix, perhaps with Terrier, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She gets along very well with other dogs and a big brother dog or big sister dog may be very helpful in her development and progress toward becoming a well-adjusted, well-balanced girl.

I fancy sleeping under the covers with you.

Update: Violet was adopted on February 2nd! Violet is a gentle young girl with a tender soul. At the time of rescue she had been abandoned on the streets, pregnant, understandably bewildered and distressed. We placed Violet in a loving foster home where she gave birth to five beautiful puppies.  Now, she has been spayed and it is her turn to find a forever home. Violet is a Chihuahua, approximately 2-3 years of age, and interestingly she has pink pigment around her right eye and black pigment around her left eye. She loves cuddling, belly rubs, and sleeping under the covers. Violet enjoys other sweet dogs and she does best with soft-spoken people.
