Clayton loves playing fetch with children!  He is wonderfully light-hearted and finds goodness in everyone he meets.  Clayton is an attractive blend of breeds, including Retriever, 4 years of age and neutered, housetrained & crate-trained, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Clayton is fine with cats and sporty dogs (he may play too rough with small dogs or senior dogs).  He was surrendered due to his previous owners' divorce.

Deerling , a charming 9-month-old junior puppy, is blessed with a very friendly and lovable disposition.  He is an attractive blend of Retriever & Shepherd, and likely with Sighthound too, good with other dogs, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  We rescued Deerling from another shelter that ran out of space.  Please visit and ask for him by name.

Stella , rescued and pregnant, needs a foster hero please! Stella was found tied to a tree, by wire around her neck and legs, in front of an abandoned house. She is remarkably sweet! Stella loves cuddling and rolling on her back for belly rubs. She is a Mastiff and Retriever mix, 1 year of age. The people who found her took her to their home for a few days and determined that she is housetrained, crate-trained, good with other big dogs and mature kids. Kodak adores kids and feels most secure around other dogs. He would love to be another dog's loyal little brother. Kodak needed us when his previous owner became severely ill.    He is a young, medium-size Retriever mix, 3 years of age, housetrained & crate-trained, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    He is very bashful and afraid of loud noises, unless another dog is present.

Heidi is a gentle, sensitive Retriever mix, under 2 years of age. Tina , a very intelligent and mischievous baby girl, loves to play in water. A mobile wading pool will give her endless hours of enjoyment. She is an adorable blend of breeds, including Retriever, now 4 months of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    Tina needed us because a member of her previous family was allergic to her. Tina spent several weeks in a foster home for loving care and socialization. Her foster mom mentioned her intelligence poses additional challenges, as she can open latches and scale simple enclosures. Tina is also fearless about approaching other dogs and thinks it is wonderfully fun to spill her food and water bowls (so spill-proof bowls are highly recommended). Chance now sits close for petting and gives doggie kisses.  He has come so far in his recovery from cruelty thanks to the dedication of volunteers and staff proving to him that people can be kind.  Chance is a Retriever mix with golden eyes, 6 years of age and neutered, housetrained, and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please ask for Chance by name when you visit and give him plenty of time to warm to you.

Mathieu , an endearing and bashful junior puppy, yearns for your approval. Kind words of encouragement are very important to him. Mathieu is a handsome, medium-size Heinz 57 with Retriever & Ridgeback (including golden eyes, long body and curly-Q tail), 8 months of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    He is housetrained and compatible with cats, dogs, and older kids.    Mathieu needed us due to his previous owner's relocation.    Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety.

Ollie carefully looks at new people with bated breath to see if they are happy with him. If so, his heart soars and he acts like a puppy! An abuse survivor (reportedly raised in a chicken coop and frequently beaten), reading the energy of people around him is of utmost importance. Despite all he endured, he wholeheartedly adores kind people. Ollie is a remarkably attractive blend of breeds, perhaps a Retriever & Plott Hound, 2 years of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Sadie is a bashful junior puppy, but compliment her with effusive praise and she lifts her head and ears and wants to hear more. Then she crawls right into your lap for some snuggling. Paul wonders when someone will come and accept his unconditional devotion.  He is an intelligent, sensitive boy longing for a family and peace-of-mind.  Paul is a a gold Siberian Husky & Retriever mix, 8 years of age and neutered, awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is housetrained, fine with older kids, and compatible with some dogs (if fed separately).  Please share Paul's picture and help find him a wonderful, forever home.

When Melvin finds someone he trusts not to hurt him, he leans against them and never wants to leave their side.  Melvin is so terrified of being struck that it breaks our hearts, but we know his blooming has already begun and that this young boy will soon know a lifetime of joy and peace.  Melvin is a cream & white Smooth Collie & Retriever mix, 2 years of age and neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued him from another shelter.  A big sister or brother dog may be ideal to help Melvin adjust and heal from his violent, cruel past.  Please share his pictures to help find him a hero.

Please help us find a hero for Theodore , who is a young boy with enormous loving potential, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Theodore sees humans as capable of violence and rage -- his head scars and timidity support the suspicions of a volunteer who rescued him from a home where he was suspected of being beaten with brooms and other objects.  So it is other dogs who give Theodore comfort and hope.  He is making some progress with us with trust, but finding a home with a big brother or big sister dog is key for his continued healing.  Theodore is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Retriever, about 2 years of age, now neutered and ready for an experienced and stable home where he sees only the best of human nature.

Romeo was callously rejected by his previous owners after 13 years of loyalty because he "has hair". Our staff person pressed the woman for some sort of clarification and she would only say that her husband doesn't want him anymore because he "has hair and barks".  We thought this must be false, a sick joke, but she signed him over with no donation whatsoever and walked away from him forever.  Needless to say, Romeo's heart is broken and we are in overdrive trying to keep his spirits up until a hero can be found for him.  Romeo is a medium-size, plump Heinz 57 with Retriever, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is reportedly housetrained, but not use to being around other animals. Adult-only home needed because he can get irritable with strangers.   Please help us find him a hero. It's not too late to show Romeo the better side of human nature.

Why was this 11-year-old boy with cloudy eyes wandering the streets, lost and perplexed?  Rascal was saved before physical harm could come his way and his emotional harm is no longer evident. In fact, he keeps a sunny outlook and has bonde d closely with several volunteers and staff.  Rascal is a medium-size Australian Shepherd & Retriever mix, neutered boy, ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Rascal is exceptionally sweet, kind, and thoughtful, and great with other dogs. Please help him find a hero who will cherish him during his twilight years.

Lollipop is like an enormous Teddy Bear with a jolly, shining personality and admirable kindness.  She makes those around her feel calm and at ease, which is a tremendous compliment for anyone.  Lollipop is a very plump, 110-pound Retriever mix, spayed girl, 7 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is on a weight reduction plan and this needs to safely and gradually continue in her forever home.  We rescued Lollipop from another shelter just in the nick of time, with only minutes to spare, and she can now continue bringing much-needed joy and devotion into this crazy, chaotic world.  Please help us find Lollipop a lifelong hero.

There is so much to love about Teddy .  He is playful, smart, and inquisitive, and when you talk with him he looks at you earnestly so that he can try to understand every word.  Teddy is a young Shepherd & Retriever mix with gorgeous golden brown coloring, neutered, 1 year of age, good with cats and dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Teddy is understandably nervous about cars.  He was witnessed being thrown from a moving car in front of a business.  We will loan his adopter a crate so he can be taken home safely and comfortably.

Aries has been a good momma, and now that her maternal duties are completed, she is ready to find a loving, forever home.  At the time of rescue her previous owner was hospitalized and she had a litter of young puppies.  (Her five pups will be available for adoption in the weeks to come.)  Aries is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Retriever, blessed with a million-dollar smile.  Aries is now spayed, about 5 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Bentley was adopted on January 29th! A joyful youngster with a robust spirit, Bentley holds tremendous loving potential. He seems almost unfazed by the cruelty he endured.  At the time of rescue he was being viciously punched and kicked by a man on a sidewalk.  Physically and emotionally, he has recovered better than expected. Bentley still looks like a puppy, though we believe he is about 18 months of age.  He is most likely a Retriever & Bully mix.  He is now neutered and debuting for adoption today. We believe he will do best with basic dog training.  He is eager to please, so we think he may be a fast learner. Please adopt him and shield him from ever seeing the darker side of human nature again.
