Magellan , a lovable baby boy, was a bit alarmed by the camera this morning for his pictures, but became playful and light-hearted again as soon as he was back on his feet.  He is a remarkably attractive Dachshund mix puppy, 5 months of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety. Magellan is good with cats and dogs and crate-trained.

Magellan is a thoughtful young boy and he must wonder why life has been harsh and unjust to someone so kind.  At the time of rescue he was at another shelter and suffering from an ear infection.  Magellan is now well and we hope he soon realizes that he is safe and can expect a bright, loving future.  He is a good-looking Tibetan Terrier mix, 2 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Magellan enjoys other dogs and needs regular professional grooming.  A gentle, stable home is ideal for this bashful boy.

Update: Magellan was adopted on March 6th! We can only speculate on Magellan's past, before he was dumped improperly at a pet store. Our best guess is he had almost no human socialization and was bred to be sold as a baby "Easter bunny" last spring. Fortunately, he is now at Nevada SPCA and getting the attention he needs to develop into a well-adjusted, socialized adult rabbit. Magellan is now neutered and ready for adoption. He is approximately 8 months of age, so still baby-like in many respects. Staff named him after an explorer due to his adventurous spirit. He is confident, exceptionally handsome, and full of terrific potential. An experienced home is required, not just due to his young age, but because he needs to continue his progress learning to trust people and receive affection. Magellan is one of more 70 bunnies, all spayed/neutered, who are available for adoption at Nevada SPCA.
