Babies just rescued on The Strip

Image
These three baby boys were just found in front of a hotel casino on the Las Vegas Strip. A visitor heard cries of distress and found them in the bushes. Gregory , Nathan , and Douglas are about five weeks of age. They need a loving foster home for approximately 2 months. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA ( www.nevadaspca.org ) in person and ask for Lauren. 20 more rescued motherless kittens are also awaiting foster heroes today. Thank you.

Han Solo

Image
Han Solo is the first of Lilly's 9 babies to be ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. His siblings and mom will be ready too in the days and weeks to come. Han Solo's wonderful foster mom says he is a quick learner and great listener. He has already begun housetraining and crate-training, and he loves his chew toys (in the place of chewing flip-flops, which is his first choice). You may recall the rescue of Lilly and her newborns back in early January. Their previous owner was threatening to shoot them. More details from the original post ( Han Solo's former name was Douglas). Hans Solo, aka Douglas, at the time of rescue Lilly, his mother.

Aspen, son, just captured! Lilly, mom Douglas, son Fleur, daughter Florian, son Iris, daughter Jacinto, son Magnolia, daughter Rose, daughter Violet, daughter Update: A ninth baby of Lilly's, a son named Aspen, was just captured this afternoon and reunited with his mom and siblings!  All await a foster hero. Original post: Lilly and her 8 babies need a loving foster home please! If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for DJ. Lilly and her babies were rescued yesterday afternoon. An officer found them in squalor and their previous owner was threatening to shoot them. They were missing meals and running loose, at risk of becoming prey to coyotes.  We're so thankful that all of them are here now at Nevada SPCA and we need to find a nurturing foster home where Lilly can continue to raise them (until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered). Lilly is a wonderful mom and sh...

My neck has healed so well, but my heart still hurts.

Douglas, debuting for adoption October 24 Douglas has been healing for 10 weeks.  Today, he triumphantly debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He is a very sensitive, 9-pound, 9-year-old Chihuahua & Toy Fox Terrier mix, now neutered. Douglas is good with other dogs and housetrained. Douglas was reportedly abused for years by both adults and children.  At the time of rescue, in August, he had a large, jagged laceration across the right half of his neck and his wound was severely infected. The veterinarian who saved his life said the cut was consistent with being from a knife or from having his head stuck in something sharp. We have decided against publishing the picture of his open wound.  Instead, below, we have included two pictures of him healing in September, the staples showing the outline of the long cut. Understandably, Douglas is very wary of strangers.  But we are proud of him for accepting our care and maintaining hope despite all he has ...

Please do not let anyone ever throw me away again.

Update: Douglas was adopted on May 24th! Abandoned on the streets, this precious, petite little boy was not doing well fending for himself and he was in enormous danger of being struck and killed by a vehicle. Getting to know Douglas, he is adorable! He is frisky, playful, and lovable. Douglas is a Chihuahua & Dachshund mix, neutered male, just a year of age. He enjoys other sweet and friendly dogs. Please remember to puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety and protection. Douglas is ready for adoption today. Please visit and ask for him by name.
