How do I find a loving, forever home?

Paddy is a warm, engaging, inquisitive youngster ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He is a chocolate American rabbit, neutered boy, 18 months of age. Paddy was rescued from the mean streets, after being abandoned there to fend for himself.  He is now though safely with us, enjoying his daily salad greens (and plenty of Timothy hay) and human companionship so that his past hunger and loneliness are just fading memories. Please ask for Paddy by name in the Lovebugs Room. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for donating this stunning portrait of Paddy to help him get adopted.

Shower me with attention.

Carmella is one of the more outgoing and affectionate guinea pigs we can remember rescuing in quite some time.  She enjoys being held and purrs when you gently rub behind her ears. She is a beautiful guinea pig, most likely an American & English breed mix, approximately 2 years young.  We love her silky caramel coloring and warm eyes. Carmella needed us when her previous owners moved out-of-state and chose not to take her. Please come meet and adopt her in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

I will continue blooming with loving care.

Update: Livingston was adopted in January! Livingston is a super cute guinea pig, still a baby at about 8 months of age.  He has a chestnut, tan, and white coat and we believe he is an American and English smooth-coat mix. He is understandably reserved, rescued from a neglectful home.  But as he gets used to us, and our steady presence with fresh greens, Timothy hay, and clean water, he is beginning to bask in the loving attention. Please know that at first though in your home this sweet little boy may prefer to hide out in his igloo.  Please don't force him or rush him, and let him warm up naturally with you as he builds a relationship of trust over time. Livingston is ready today to meet you in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

I need to be indoors to be safe and cherished as a member of your family.

Update: Rudyard was adopted on November 15th! Rudyard is an endearing young boy with the cutest ears, one that flops and the other alert and erect. He is most likely an American and Lop mix rabbit, about one year of age.  We had him neutered and he is ready for adoption today. We rescued him and three other bunnies from what we believed to be a backyard breeder situation. Despite all of the homeless domesticated rabbits in our community, there are breeders unconscionably producing even more, some for Easter sales gimmicks and some for food for giant snakes or other large animals. But Rudyard is a gentle, sweet, loving boy and he certainly does not want to become someone's meal.   He wants a loving, forever home, just like all other domesticated companion animals. Rudyard likes perching on his loft -- our bunny condos have loft ledges and we can show you how to make these at home -- peacefully enjoying his new safety. Please visit our new Lovebugs Room, which sho...

I love to play in the Cottontail Cottage.

Erte has charmed us thoroughly. He is a robust rabbit, adventurous and affectionate, and he has a gentle demeanor. Erte is an American mixed breed, neutered male, about 18 months young. We rescued him from another shelter, so we do not have any background information on him. Please plan for safe, daily exercise time, indoors only for his protection. We will show you here some of the habitats and toys he most enjoys. Erte is one of more than 90 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits at Nevada SPCA who await loving, forever homes. Please visit our new "Lovebugs" adoption room and ask for him by name.

I hope to grow up and become as wonderful as my daddy.

Update: Milo & Bert were adopted on July 10th! Father and son, Milo & Bert are lovable, comical guinea pigs who are grateful to be receiving good care, including clean water and fresh daily veggies. They were rescued from a foreclosed home. They had run out of water and food, and mold was growing in their cage. Both Milo & Bert have beautiful chocolate coats. They are perhaps Peruvian & American breed mixes. Milo, though a father, is still a baby himself at about 8 months of age. Milo is 2 months of age. Milo & Bert need an experienced home because of their young ages. Please read up on guinea pig care and ensure you can make a lifetime commitment to them.

I would love to have a sister for lifelong companionship.

Update: Mamie was adopted on May 21st! We rescued Mamie from another shelter. Very friendly, she adores people. Mamie seems so lonely, so it is important she is adopted into a very attentive home where she will get lots of love. Ideally, Mamie would do best with another female guinea pig to bond with -- a new sister. If you have a single female guinea pig who similarly needs a sister, Nevada SPCA staff can help introduce the guinea pigs to ensure they get along well. Mamie is most likely an American & English mix and she is approximately 2 years young. She is chestnut, with a wide band of white and a butterscotch facial blaze. Please visit and ask for Mamie by name.

I love shredded wheat snacks.

Update: Chadwick was adopted on May 28th! Easy-going and quite handsome, young Chadwick's good nature simply glows. He loves gentle attention from you, so be sure to plan for plenty of daily time to spend with him. Chadwick is most likely an American mix rabbit with cinnamon and blue-grey coloring. He is neutered, approximately 18 months of age, and ready for adoption today. We rescued Chadwick from another shelter. Like all domesticated bunnies in our desert climate, he needs and deserves an indoor-only home. Please visit and ask for Chadwick by name. He is one of 70 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

I look to you to keep me safe and happy.

Update: Delta was adopted on November 21st! Delta is a young girl with endless baby-faced expressions. She is calm and engages kind people well. Delta is an Abyssinian & American breed mix guinea pig, about 2 years of age. She is too pleasantly plump at the moment, but will continue improving with a correct diet and opportunities to stretch her legs and explore new areas (safely contained with a pen away from electrical cords). Delta debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
