Please get a tall cat tree for me.

Veronica needed us when her previous owners moved out of the country. She is a petite, sleek shorthair, young spayed girl just under a year of age. Veronica is bouncy and athletic and enjoys cat naps on high perches. Besides adoring people, she is friendly with other cats and respectful of their space. Please ask for Veronica by name when you visit Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms.

I am all about belly rubs.

Knarly is a volunteer favorite in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms.  He is one of 200 rescued, spayed and neutered cats for adoption showcased there in a series of rooms designed for their comfort with cat trees and ledges and hiding spots. Knarly can often be found lazily sprawled out on the floor on his back, hoping someone will pause a minute or two and rub his belly. He is a snow-white shorthair with light emerald eyes, neutered male, about 10 years old.  Someone declawed all four of his paws, yet still dumped him at a government shelter, which is where we rescued him from. Knarly is easy-going and mellow, and he is fine with other respectful cats.   He often gets overlooked as visitors seek younger felines to adopt, but this handsome boy has just as much unconditional love to share with you.

If you seek someone full of character and nuance, then I am the boy for you.

Update: Moe was adopted on January 27th! It only takes one look into Moe's wise, light green eyes to realize that he is especially clever, and perhaps complicated. On the one hand, he is very playful and enjoys lap time to receive affection. However, he has a feisty streak, especially when he gets over-stimulated (from brushing, other cats, etc.), leading sometimes to love bites. Therefore, he needs an adult home (or a home with only older, mature children). Moe is a handsome grey-blue shorthair tuxedo, neutered, and about 4 years of age. Moe needed rescue when he was found by a neighbor trying to survive outdoors after his owner had abandoned the family home to foreclosure. Surviving outdoors would have been very short-lived. He is declawed and especially vulnerable to the dangers and predators that commonly injure, maim, and kill outdoor cats. Please ask for Moe in the free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms at Nevada SPCA. As with all of Nevada SPCA's rescued cats, he needs,...

The streets of broken dreams.

Update: Locket was adopted on September 25th! Locket almost became one of the countless felines who perish every day outdoors, where dangers are ever-present: cars, dogs, disease, pranksters, birds of prey, the elements, among many more. She was in the streets with a broken pelvis, most likely the result of being run over or struck by a car. After two months of medical care and cage rest, she made a good recovery. She can walk again. Locket now needs a new home -- one where she will be kept strictly indoors for her safety & protection. She is most likely an American & British Shorthair mix, approximately 3 years of age. She is spayed and her beautiful colors resemble "Torbie" patterning with brown, orange-tan, & white. Personality-wise, Locket is a very sweet, loving girl, but with a shy and quieter nature. We believe she will do best in a calmer home. Please visit Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms and ask for Locket by name.
