Smokey's progress.

We rescued Smokey in January from another shelter.  The victim of severe abuse and neglect, he had no self-esteem and wanted absolutely nothing to do with humans.

But we paired him with another dog for socialization and companionship, and thanks also to dedicated volunteers boosting his spirits, Smokey has made slow and steady progress.

Today, Smokey is still shy, but he realizes people can be kind, and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is a Heeler & Shepherd mix with a cute underbite and expressive eyes, 1 year young and neutered.

We strongly prefer adopting him to a home where he will have a big sister or brother dog to help him keep learning and adjusting and building confidence so that he can reach his full loving potential.
