Ellie, a young girl rescued during the mountain fire evacuations.

A family evacuating their mountainside home on July 5 due to the fires near Mt. Charleston spotted this young girl racing down the hill too.  Their car was full of people and belongings, but they scooped her up and squeezed her in.

Since then volunteers and staff have been trying to find a previous owner, to no avail.  She had no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, etc.). Further, she was unspayed and it was clear she had been bred for puppies.

We named her Ellie and had her spayed.  Ellie is a tuxedo Bully mix with an affectionate nature and a delightful prance to her walk.  She is 1 year young and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
