Tessie with her babies, Elmo and Zoe

Tessie, a very petite girl, was rescued from the streets, where she was wandering, pregnant and in distress, perhaps especially anxious because she knew she was close to giving birth and she had nowhere to safe to go.

We immediately placed her in a nurturing foster home and two days later she gave birth to a son and daughter.  Their foster mom named the babies Elmo and Zoe because of their muppet-like appearance.

Now, three months later, Tessie and her puppies are all spayed/neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Tessie delights in sitting in your lap and showering you with kisses.  She is a Longhair Chihuahua, about 4 years of age.

Our best guess is that Elmo and Zoe's father was a Shih-Tzu or Pekingese or other Toy breed.  Though shy, both babies are cuddly with people they trust.  They were raised around cats, dogs, rabbits, and even sugar gliders in the foster home.

Please ask for Tessie, Elmo, and Zoe by name when you visit Nevada SPCA.

Very special thanks to Pet'ographique for these unbelievably cute portraits to help the trio find loving, forever homes.
