Why did I become homeless when I did nothing wrong?

Update: Donald was adopted on January 8th!

Devoted little Donald was devastated when he was surrendered to us (for his previous owner's personal reasons unrelated to his behavior).

We have been holding him and bonding him with other dogs in efforts to mend his broken heart and tend to his loneliness, and he is steadily making slight improvements.

But there is no replacement for a gentle, loving forever home, and that is what Donald yearns for as soon as possible.

Donald is a distinguished blend of Pomeranian and Chihuahua, neutered male, about 4 years of age.  He is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained.
