The young ones cannot keep up with me when it comes to playing ball.

Update: Spike was adopted on December 11th!

Age does not seem to have diminished Spike's enthusiasm and zest for life much.

He enjoys trying to trick the staff and volunteers so he can dash out and escape his kennel and run the halls.  And get out the tennis balls and he is as robust as a puppy.

Spike is a handsome Longhair Dachshund debuting for adoption today.  He is neutered and approximately 10 years of age.

He is reportedly housetrained, crate-trained, good with cats, and picky about which other dogs he likes.

Spike needed us because a young child in his previous family was tormenting him and he was intolerant of the child.  He needs an adult-only home or a home where the children are mature and older.

Spike delights in going for walks, wearing a harness (instead of a collar) since it is easier on his neck and back.
