Every day of life is precious.

The relatively short lives of gerbils, hamsters, mice, rats, and many other small companion animals help remind us of the value of each day.

Adorable little Shakespeare would love to go home with a compassionate person and begin enjoying a new life.

He is an adult gerbil, friendly and outgoing.

Shakespeare was surrendered to us by a family who told us they just "got tired" of taking care of him.

Creatures great and small deserve better than that, as most people today recognize that companion animals are indeed family members worthy of lifetime commitments.

Please visit and ask for Shakespeare by name. He is one of more than 2 dozen rescued gerbils for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
