Update: Louie was adopted on December 4th! Louie is about 4 years of age, but just now being given the golden opportunity to join a home where he will be loved and adored as a member of the family. He was rescued from a breeder, used for years to produce Yorkie puppies to make a quick buck. But breeding during this most severe animal overpopulation crisis, worsened further by the recession and home foreclosure crisis, is simply unconscionable. Louie is a super cute Yorkshire Terrier with a zany personality and great zest for life. He is all set to bloom beautifully in a caring home environment. Besides regular grooming, please plan on providing him with a wealth of good guidance for basic behaviors. We suspect that he may need to adjust to living predominantly indoors, learning housetraining, and so forth, and a steady lifestyle routine should be very helpful. Louie may get along with some dogs, but he has been grumpy with several we have introduced him to here. If you have anoth

I seek gentle people who are less likely to scream and hit me.

Update: Cocoa was adopted on December 1st! Cocoa is a gorgeous girl with a tender-hearted nature. You can look in her eyes though and see that she is weary and anxious that harm may again come her way. But when relaxed and trusting, Cocoa's face lights up with a huge smile and twinkling eyes. Cocoa is a smaller-sized Retriever & Australian Shepherd mix with a chocolate coat, cute front-folding ears, and hazel eyes. She is spayed, about 5 years of age, and she debuts for adoption today. We know little about Cocoa's background except that she has had a rough life until now. She reportedly needed us when her owner was evicted from his home. A gentle, patient person or couple can help illuminate her personality and assist her with reaching her potential.

I am a brilliant young girl who needs both mental and physical exercise.

Update: Chaser was adopted on December 21st! Herding breed dogs like Chaser require engaged, attentive owners who understand their need for mental as well as physical stimulation. Besides daily walks and scheduled play-times, there are simple activities with toys that can also be challenging and especially fun for them. Also, including them in as many family activities as possible has been shown to be very helpful. For instance, one adopter told us how her herding breed dog helped her tuck in the kids, check the locks on the house before bed-time, and even take out the garbage. Chaser is an intelligent young girl, medium-sized, Heinz 57 with Australian Shepherd, spayed, and just under 2 years of age. She is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door), good with other dogs, and fine with older kids. Chaser lost her home and family though due to herding the young children. (It is common for herding breed dogs to try and herd young kids and other animals to develop order.) Chaser d

I hope you can see the great potential in me.

Update: Metro was adopted on December 11th! Metro is a very handsome youngster who needs to continue building self-esteem and confidence. He is a German Shorthaired Pointer, neutered male, about 2 years of age. We rescued Metro from another shelter, so we have almost no background information on him. Breed knowledge and/or experienced is required because we worry that he came from a rougher, possibly abusive or neglectful home environment. But he is very friendly with those he trusts. He is beaming with tremendous potential. Metro debuts for adoption today.

My previous owner went to heaven and I need a new guardian angel.

Being declawed has not stopped Abraham from enjoying daily playtime. He especially loves to chase and catch strings, so you need to take caution with holiday tinsels and items he could swallow. Abraham has very striking eyes that give him an extra air of wisdom. His right eye is icy green and his left eye is dark golden hazel. He is a parti-colored short-hair, large, neutered male, approximately 7 years young. Abraham needed us when his owner passed away. While Abraham tolerates other cats, he is rather independent with them and may enjoy a lifestyle as the only cat in the home. He cherishes the company of people, especially those who will play with him. Like all of the rescued cats, it is critical that Abraham lives a strictly indoor-only lifestyle for his safety and protection. This is especially the case since he is declawed.

If you love me I will truly feel on top of the world.

Update: Stanley was adopted on January 2nd! Stanley loves to climb to the highest possible place for his catnaps. At Nevada SPCA he likes to be in the laundry room where he can snuggle in beddings and linens folded on shelves that reach almost to the ceiling. Stanley is a very attractive, medium-hair Cream Point Siamese with ice blue eyes. He is neutered and about 2 years of age. Besides being compatible with other cats, he is very sweet with people, and he particularly loves his brushing and grooming. Stanley needed us after his owner abandoned him in a small crate in a building lobby, without any notes or food or water. He is one of 200 spayed/neutered, adoptable cats in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms. Please ask for him by name when you visit.

I am just a baby, but they gave up on me.

Update: Sinatra was adopted on October 8th! Sinatra's deep blue eyes are very noticeable. He is beautiful on the inside too, gentle and unassuming. He is a "kit" (baby rabbit), perhaps an American & Dutch mix, neutered male, about 6 months of age. We believe he will grow to medium/standard size. Like most bunnies, Sinatra feels most at ease on the floor. Being picked up makes him anxious, plus he is still very young and getting used to human touch. His previous owners surrendered him because "he does not like being held." The truth though is that Sinatra is an affectionate boy. He enjoys being petted and spending quiet time with you. Sinatra is also very enthusiastic for his daily greens. He is one of almost 70 spayed/neutered, rescued bunnies for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Each need, deserve, and require indoor homes where they can safely be members of the family.

She ordered us to get out, but we had nowhere to go.

Update 4: Doris Ann was adopted on December 23rd! Update 3: Paolo was adopted on December 22nd! Update 2: DiDi was adopted on December 14th! Update: Gloria was adopted on December 4th! Paolo (pictured here) and his sisters DiDi, Doris Ann, & Gloria , are nicknamed " The Holiday Bully Puppies " and they debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We presume they are Bully mixes, but at this young age of 4 months it is still difficult to ascertain with much precision. They could also be Retriever mixes, but regardless, we expect them to grow to about medium size. The Holiday Bully Puppies are spayed/neutered and each have whimsical, fun-loving personalities and sunny natures. Our staff caught a woman trying to dump them in a parking lot. She had opened her car door and yelled "Out!" at them, but they didn't budge due to fear and uncertainty. We scooped them up and freed them from her savagery. The Holiday Bully Puppies can be adopted separately, but please c

I have a sparkle in my eyes for you.

Update: Frances was adopted on November 30th! Frances glows with joy! This big girl has an even larger, more robust personality and super sweet nature. Frances is a gorgeous Siberian Husky with engaging blue eyes. She is spayed and about 3 years of age. She was rescued dodging traffic on a busy street and was almost struck numerous times before jumping in a kind woman's back seat into safety. Frances is recovering well from severe neglect. She is beyond being pleasantly plump and qualifies as being obese. She needs to safely and properly lose weight for better health. Please consult with your veterinarian for guidance so that you do not accidentally put her on harmful crash diet. Siberian Husky knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption. Frances debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Will anyone ever really love me?

Image
Update: Muffin was adopted on December 5th! Muffin is adored here at Nevada SPCA, but as of yet still unaware of this and quite wary. She came from a loveless home where she was banished to living outdoors only, which is unacceptable on many levels. When her owner dumped her she refused to mention even one good thing about her. But it turns out that Muffin is full of goodness! She is very sweet and she yearns to make connections to gentle people. Muffin is a pretty Chihuahua, spayed, approximately 8 years of age, and she enjoys other dogs. Please be very patient with her and give her basic guidance to help adjust to living predominantly indoors as a member of your family. Muffin debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

We want to live indoors with committed families who will cherish us.

Astro, Elroy & Judy are " The Jetsons Kittens " and they are now available for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Please meet and adopt them on Saturdays, beginning at 11am, when they come in with their foster mom. They are gorgeous babies, each spayed/neutered, up-to-date on major vaccines, microchipped, and tested for leukemia, and they are approximately 4 months of age. Their foster mom and our staff kept them alive thanks to tender loving care when they had an extraordinarily fragile hold on life. Their owner dumped them, mercilessly, along with their mother (Rhapsody, who is also available for adoption) when they were just a day old. All three have progressed beautifully! Astro (left) is perhaps the most outgoing and playful, while his brother Elroy (Center) may be the most affectionate, and his sister Judy (right) the most gentle. Each are beautiful little miracles in their own right and their personalities will continue to bloom and thrive in loving environments. Th

I never dreamed I would be homeless during the holidays.

Update: Alex was adopted on December 1st! Alex is a soulful, gentle spirit. He is a Toy Poodle, neutered male, approximately 4 years of age. Alex has numerous tremendous qualities. He is intelligent, loving, compatible with other dogs and kind children, and reportedly housetrained. Please plan on regular grooming care for him. This varies with each dog, but budgeting for quarterly grooming is a safe estimate. Alex needed us because his owner moved away and did not take him. Alex debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

3 pounds of love and inspiration.

Update: Lil' Bit was adopted on December 3rd! This little angel has come a long way in the past few months, thanks to loving foster care. Lil' Bit debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She has a tender soul. When joyous, she turns into a cute wiggleworm. Lil' Bit is a Teacup Chihuahua, spayed, and about 5 months of age. She is good with other gentle dogs. Her special needs are likely to continue the rest of her life. She has neurological damage, the most noticeable results of which are a slightly tilted head and spinning when excited. We do not know what caused the damage (whether an accident or from birth), but she arrived to us just a few weeks old and in emergency need of foster care. We have reason to believe she was a "throw away" from a backyard breeder who knew she was a bit different and could not command a regular puppy sales fee. If you would like to meet and consider Lil' Bit , please ask for her by name at the headquarters. (She is not

I want someone who will love me and stay devoted to me when I grow old.

Update: Alyssa was adopted on November 27th! Alyssa is an adorable little princess with a bubbly personality. She is reportedly a Maltese & Schipperke mix. She is spayed and approximately 3 months of age. Alyssa adores other sweet dogs. Ideally, we would love to see her adopted to a home with another dog (or dogs). Please plan on regular grooming care for her and budget accordingly. We expect her to possibly have a long coat as she develops. Please also be sure to carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety and protection. Alyssa debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I would love to realize my full potential with your loving help.

Image
Update: Willy was adopted on November 27th! Willy is beginning to really shine. We have watched a shy, reserved little fellow bloom into a happy, playful boy. Willy is a Chinese Crested Dog, neutered, and reportedly 6 years of age. He enjoys other dogs very much. He may do best with another dog (or dogs) in his new home. Chinese Crested Dog knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred for his adoption. His skin needs continuing care and he requires softer food due to losing several teeth. Willy is reportedly crate-trained, but he may need your patience and guidance (and steady routine) in order to fully complete housetraining. Please visit and ask for this sweetheart by name at Nevada SPCA.

I am ready to join your loving family today.

Image
Update: Mia was adopted on January 6th! Mia is a cheery, flamboyant, and well-behaved little lady. She is a Beagle mix, medium-sized, spayed, and about 4 years of age. Mia is reportedly housetrained, crate-trained, and compatible with cats and dogs and older children. She is a very social girl and wants to be included in as many family activities as possible. Mia needed us due to her previous owner's financial collapse. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Addendum: Mia lost her latest home reportedly due to separation anxiety. Sadly, this distress is not uncommon for animals (and people) who are repeatedly abandoned and rejected by the ones they love. The anxiety can diminish with time and a steady routine, and you can implement helpful tips from staff and dog trainers, but there is no instant fix, so a very patient and understanding home is needed for her.

We are each beautiful bursts of sunshine.

Update 2: Nala & Niko were adopted together on December 4th! Update: Nina was adopted on December 3rd! Nina (pictured here) and her sister Nala, and brother Niko, are nicknamed " The Huggable Puppies " due to their affectionate, joyful natures. They are most likely Border Collie & Australian Shepherd mixes. They are spayed/neutered and approximately 6 months of age. We expect them to grow to medium size. The Huggable Puppies needed us when the rescue organization they were with folded due to the economy. Like the other puppies posted in recent days from the above-mentioned organization, they need more socialization, even with basic behaviors like walking on a leash. We believe they are smart and eager to please, so we expect them to progress quickly with good guidance. They are very good with other dogs. Though shy at first with people, their hearts are warm for those they know and trust. The Huggable Puppies can be adopted separately, but please consider a pai

I desire having peace of mind in a stable home and family.

Update: Squeaky was adopted on November 24th! Squeaky is a precious young girl, generally calm-natured and willowy and humble. She is a Yorkie-Poo (a Yorkshire Terrier & Poodle mix), spayed, and just a year of age. Squeaky enjoys the company of other gentle dogs, and she is reportedly fine with older, mature children. She is also reportedly housetrained and crate-trained. Please plan on regular grooming care for her and budget accordingly. Squeaky needed us when her owner moved away and she did not get to go too. Squeaky debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

With your good guidance we will soon become well-adjusted sweethearts.

Update 4: Rusti was adopted on January 16th! Update 3: Rainey was adopted on December 24th! Update 2: Rosie was adopted on December 15th! Update: Rudi was adopted on December 11th! Rainey (pictured here) and her sisters Rosie, Rudi, and Rusti, are lovely puppies with hearts of gold. We nicknamed the girls " The Gentle Shepherd Sister Puppies " and they debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. The girls are spayed and about 6 months of age. The Gentle Shepherd Sister Puppies needed us because they were in a rescue organization which folded due to the economy. They need more socialization, so your patience is needed, even with basic behaviors including walking on a leash, so an experienced home is required. The girls can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong companionship.

If I am rambunctious it is only because I am full of immense joy for life.

Exceptionally handsome and outgoing, this young boy radiates happiness and energy. Boston is a Belgian Shepherd, neutered, and approximately 3 years of age. Boston has had some basic training. He is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained. In addition, he is compatible not only with other dogs, but also reportedly with mature kids and some cats. But he is very strong and needs more obedience training. Please only consider Boston if you are 100% committed to providing additional training for him. Belgian Shepherds are known for their intelligence, so herding dog knowledge and/or experience is important too. Boston needed us due to his owner's financial collapse. He debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

My hope and spirit had almost completely faded away.

Update: Neon was adopted on Christmas Eve! Extremely filthy and starving, Neon was essentially just skin and bones and dirty tangles at the time of his rescue (by a kind person who brought him to us). A month has now gone by and every day brings a bit of improvement for him, a little more light in his eyes and muscle on his thin frame. Neon's improvements need to continue in his new home. So please keep in mind that he is a work in progress, a flower blooming again. Neon is a Toy Poodle mix, neutered and about 7 years of age, though perhaps older (since judging by his teeth was very difficult in his case). Besides being tender-hearted, this rustic boy is also mellow and compatible with other sweet dogs. Please plan on regular grooming care for him and budget accordingly. Neon debuts for adoption today. He has a mid-level heart murmur (grade 4 of 6), so besides a quieter lifestyle and less exposure to heat and exertion, he also takes medication. The staff can give you more d

I think you will find me gorgeous on the inside too.

Update: Shasta was adopted on December 11th! An attentive owner/guardian is a must for this attention-seeker who adores being with people. Shasta is a beautiful German Shepherd, spayed female, about 5 years of age. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued Shasta from another shelter, so we have little background information on her. But we do know that she seems to have aggression with most other dogs. Please consider her only if you are looking for her to be the only dog in the home. German Shepherd knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred due to the intelligence and strength of the breed.

Can I grow up and grow old with you?

Image
Update: Ruttiger was adopted on December 4th! Ruttiger is a super cute, zany puppy with a comical personality. He is a Bully mix, neutered male, about 4-5 months of age. We expect him to grow to medium size. Ruttiger loves playing with other dogs, ideally those his size and bigger. Please remember to carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety and protection. Ruttiger debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

We are world-class lickers and kissers.

Update 4: Lucas was adopted on December 5th! Update 3: Lil' Beth was adopted on December 3rd! Update 2: Linus was adopted on November 28th! Update 1: Logan was adopted on November 27th! Lucas (pictured here) and his sister Lil' Beth, and brothers Linus and Logan, are nicknamed " The Sweet Retriever Puppies " due to their very affectionate natures. They are Retriever mixes and could grow to large size. They are spayed/neutered and approximately 7 months of age. The Sweet Retriever Puppies needed us because they were in a rescue group which had to close its doors due to the economy. They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship. They debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Pine cones are my favorite toy.

Update: Montgomery was adopted on December 5th! Outgoing and curious, Montgomery is full of adorable charm. He is a Holland Mini Lop, neutered male, about one year of age. He is ready for adoption today. We are in the dark about his past. His owner surrendered him to us and refused to give us any information on his past, much less any reasons for kicking him out of the family. Our best guess is that Montgomery was bred for sale as an Easter bunny, which, as readers of this site know full well, almost always results in homelessness and tragedy. This petite boy needs a bit of extra attention. The Holland Mini Lop breed's flatter face (or steeper nose, whichever you prefer) requires more attention to chewing needs (and the growth of teeth) as they age. Natural, dried pine cones are not just his favorite toy, but also help with his chewing and teeth. (Please just be sure the pine cones are not sweetened, decorated, or otherwise artificially treated.) Montgomery is one of almost 7

I am an aquatic boy and thrilled to be swimming.

Update: Phelps was adopted on May 14th! Upon his rescue from a foreclosed home, we brought this handsome duck in to a protected patio with multiple swimming pools. Raised with chickens and rabbits, he was not at all fearful of the pot belly pigs and other ducks. His focus was just getting in the water. We will never forget his initial burst of euphoric joy -- splashing, dunking, cleaning, wading -- completely overwhelmed with fulfilling his nature and being in the pools. We named this swimming aficionado Phelps , after the swimmer. He is a very handsome and friendly duck. He even lets the staff members who bond with him and feed him to hold him in their arms for brief intervals. Playfully, he sometimes chases them to demand great attention. Phelps needs a very safe home geared to the pleasures of a duck, with plenty of places to swim. He is so socialized with and dependent on people that he cannot be released into a wilderness-type environment. Instead, he needs a home where he w

I may be tiny but I have a big personality.

Update: Winnie was adopted on November 23rd! Winnie is a precious, smart, dainty puppy with a charming nature. She reportedly has a cute "packrat-like" behavior of sneaking items away she likes and putting them under the bed in her hiding place. Winnie is reportedly a Shih-Tzu & Brussels Griffon mix. She is spayed, about 8 months of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Winnie is compatible with other sweet dogs. She may need your patience and guidance to complete housetraining. This begins with a steady routine and positive reinforcement.

I look to you to keep me safe and happy.

Update: Delta was adopted on November 21st! Delta is a young girl with endless baby-faced expressions. She is calm and engages kind people well. Delta is an Abyssinian & American breed mix guinea pig, about 2 years of age. She is too pleasantly plump at the moment, but will continue improving with a correct diet and opportunities to stretch her legs and explore new areas (safely contained with a pen away from electrical cords). Delta debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

My life began anew thanks to my rescue.

Image
Update: Lenore was adopted on January 2nd! Lenore is a very affectionate, outgoing young bunny with stunning good looks. She is a Mini Rex with the softest coat, spayed, and approximately 18 months of age. Lenore is one of 9 rabbits rescued from severely neglectful conditions in a person's backyard. Her ear tips are chewed up, but healing well, due to fighting with other bunnies for survival outdoors. This is Lenore's golden opportunity to find a home and owner who deserve her. She has a world of love to share with you. Lenore is one of almost 70 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

It is like they were playing musical chairs with my life.

Image
Update: Lambchop was adopted on November 21st! Lambchop is a fluffy young angel who loves to lick and kiss. She is most likely a Cockapoo & Maltese mix. She is spayed and about one year of age. In Lambchop's short life already though, she has been handed around from home to home an astonishing 6 times! Pathetic. Shuffling animals through hand-aways to neighbors or co-workers or even to strangers on the internet so often leads to tragedy and homelessness. Lambchop's whirlwind of being tossed away is now over. We are committed to finding her a very stable, loving, and devoted new home. She enjoys other dogs and she needs regular grooming care, so please budget extra accordingly. Lambchop debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am an excitable boy who wants to live life to the fullest.

Image
Update: Tiger was adopted on December 1st! Tiger is a perky, playful youngster who loves his squeaky toys. He is a Pomeranian, neutered male, about 2-3 years of age. He debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Tiger needed rescue when his owner lost the family home to foreclosure. He is good with other dogs and requires regular grooming care. Tiger's special need is reportedly piddling (releasing small amounts of urine when overly excited or scared). This is not uncommon in young dogs and often improves with age, but not always. It is very important not to punish him for this involuntary reaction to stress. Please only consider him if you can tolerate this and take it in stride. Also, Tiger's previous owner reportedly kept him outdoors all the time, which is unacceptable on numerous levels. He will need your patience and guidance (and a steady routine) to complete housetraining and adjust to primarily living indoors.

I am so desperate for love.

Image
Update: Fritzi was adopted on November 21st! The sparkle is beginning to return to Fritzi's eyes. His soul is healing and he has begun realizing that he is now safe. We rescued him from another shelter when he ran out of time there. As he awakens to new hope, Fritzi will bloom and the dark clouds that cause him anxiety and gloom will vanish. Fritzi is most likely a Lhasa Apso mix. He is neutered and about 3 years young. Fritzi enjoys other dogs so much that we believe he will do best in a home with another dog (or dogs). Please also plan for regular grooming care. He was in atrocious condition at the time of rescue -- a baby encased in filthy knots and tangles. Fritzi debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Who is going to take care of me and love me?

Image
Update: Rascal was adopted on November 27th! Rascal is an adorable little trooper, playful and very good-natured. He is a Silky Terrier, neutered male, about 4 years of age, and he debuts for adoption today. Rascal needed us due to his owners' financial collapse. He enjoys other dogs and may do best in a home with another dog (or dogs). Rascal needs regular grooming care, which varies with each individual but plan for at least quarterly sessions with a professional groomer and budget accordingly. Rascal may need your patience and guidance (and a stable routine) to complete housetraining. He reportedly has the basic concept down, but has occasional accidents in the house. Addendum: Rascal requires an adult-only home. It is a strict condition of his adoption that he has no access whatsoever to toddlers or young children.

Adopt me and I will be your lifelong champion.

Image
Update: Champ was adopted on December 12th! Sunny and easy-going, Champ is a little burst of sunshine wherever he goes. He is a Chihuahua mix with very expressive facial features, neutered, and approximately 8 years of age. Champ is compatible with both cats and dogs, plus he is reportedly housetrained too (with a doggie door). Like most surrendered animals to shelters and rescue organizations, he did nothing wrong and did not deserve to lose his family and home. He is innocent and loyal, and now needs a new owner who will make a lifetime commitment to him becoming a member of the family. Champ debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am a Maltese mix puppy easily mistaken for a super cute Teddy Bear.

Image
Update: Artie was adopted on November 20th! Artie is a jazzy puppy awaiting love and adventure in a forever home. This adorable baby boy, and his father (Aspen, who also debuts for adoption today), were rescued from a very neglectful household, and need patience and guidance with basic behaviors. Artie is a Maltese mix. He is neutered and about 3 months young. He enjoys other dogs, and ideally, he would love to be adopted with his dad for lifelong companionship. (We will reduce adoption fees to support them being adopted together to a very committed new owner.) Artie needs regular grooming care, so please be sure to budget extra accordingly. Please also carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety and protection.

Blue Doberman Pinschers like me require more skin care.

Image
Update: Sinbad was adopted on December 18th! Sinbad is a very handsome, devoted boy. He is a Blue Doberman Pinscher, neutered male, just under 3 years of age. He debuts for adoption today. Sinbad is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and compatible with both cats and dogs. He requires an adult-only home though for two reasons. First, he has reportedly never been around children. And second, he reportedly play-bites when excited, so we must err on the safe side for dog bite prevention and insist on adults only in his new home. Blue Dobies need attention to their skin care and coat, including caution with sun exposure to prevent burning . Doberman Pinscher experience is strongly preferred for his adoption. Sinbad needed us due to his owner losing the family home to foreclosure.

I can provide a lifetime of entertainment for you.

Image
Update: Chewy was adopted on November 25th! Chewy is a flamboyant young fellow with a dazzling personality. He is a Miniature Pinscher, full of character, neutered and about 2 years of age. We rescued Chewy from another shelter when he ran out of time there. He enjoys the company of other dogs. If you have a dog looking for a brother, please bring him or her for an introduction to Chewy in our courtyard. Chewy debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Brotherly love.

Image
Update: Tab & Troy were adopted together on December 12th! Tab & Troy are very bonded kittens who would be exceptional lifelong companions for one another. The brothers are affectionate, handsome, and well-socialized, thanks to loving care in a foster home. They are both neutered and approximately 7-8 months of age. Tab & Troy needed us for rescue because their owner was allergic to them. Like all of the rescued cats at Nevada SPCA, they need and require and deserve strictly indoor-only homes for their safety and protection, and so they will be proper members of the family. Please ask for Tab & Troy by name when you visit. They are expected at the headquarters' lobby on Saturday (beginning at 11am) when they come with their foster mom. Ideally, they will be adopted together in honor of their strong bond.

They say I am an ageless beauty.

Image
Update: Maggie Lou was adopted on December 18th! This sweet old girl is well-behaved and chock full of many tremendous qualities. Maggie Lou is reportedly compatible with cats and older, kind children. She is fine with some dogs too, but picky about who she likes. She is also reportedly housetrained. Maggie Lou is most likely a Spaniel & Chihuahua mix, but she defies easy breed categorization. Instead she is magnificently unique (as all mixed breeds are). She is spayed, about 10 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Seniors, like Maggie Lou, have sweet, calm souls and offer a world of unconditional love. Please come meet this sweetheart today.

I am a big, gentle Lop rabbit who needs a new loving home.

Update: Portsmouth was adopted on November 25th! Portsmouth loves to stretch out and get as cozy and relaxed as possible. We have homemade "rabbit condos" made by volunteers which are expansive and suited for his large size. (They are simple and inexpensive to build and the staff can show you how.) Portsmouth has a calm demeanor and he is affectionate, but anxious if you hold him for too long. He is a Lop rabbit, neutered male, approximately 2 years young. Portsmouth was abandoned in a carrier without a note, much less food or water, so thankfully we discovered him in time to save his life. Portsmouth is one of almost 70 spayed/neutered, rescued bunnies for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am trying to figure this world out.

Image
Update: Jazzy was adopted on November 20th! Jazzy is a regal young lady who seeks security and stability. After beginning her life in an abusive home, she learned about compassion with a loving new owner. But he passed away. Jazzy is confused about what happened to her daddy and anxious to make a strong connection with someone new to help her feel safe. She is a Chihuahua (mix), spayed, and about 2 years of age. Jazzy is good with other dogs. She is also reportedly compatible with cats and older children, plus housetrained too. Jazzy debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am a quick learner and I just need good guidance from you.

Image
Update: Bobee was adopted on November 20th! Bobee is an intelligent, lovely puppy who is seemingly always seeking approval. She is an Australian Cattle Dog mix, spayed female, approximately 5 months young. Bobee is good with other dogs, and she is reportedly already housetrained. As a herding breed dog, who are known for their brain-power, please plan for regular playtime, walks, and other family activities to keep her mentally stimulated. Herding breed knowledge and/or experience is preferred. Bobee debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Make a lifetime commitment to us because our love lasts forever.

Update 2: Moose Tracks was adopted on November 23rd! Update: Rainbow Sherbert and Rocky Road were adopted on November 21st! Moose Tracks , the brindle baby boy pictured here, and his sister Rainbow Sherbert, and his brother Rocky Road, are nicknamed " The Ice Cream Puppies " because they are so incredibly sweet. This adorable, curious trio debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong love and companionship. The Ice Cream Puppies are Heinz 57s with Retriever, expected to grow to medium or large size. They are spayed/neutered and about 3-4 months young. The puppies needed us when their owner could not find good new homes for them.

I would love to be your sweet little pumpkin forever.

Update: Ren was adopted on December 4th! Ren is a super cute puppy with an electrifying personality. He is very friendly and a ball of energy. He is a Bully mix who we expect to grow to medium size. He is neutered, about 3-4 months of age, and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Ren was rescued while trying to dodge traffic on a busy city boulevard. He enjoys other dogs very much, especially those who will play with him. Bully breed knowledge and/or experience is preferred for his adoption. Please remember to carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for Ren's safety and protection.

Adopt me for a lifetime of joy and affection.

Gracie is a jubilant, beautiful girl who loves adults. She is a Boxer, spayed, 3-4 years of age. Gracie is reportedly house trained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained. She reportedly lost her home due to being incompatible with young children. We do not know the cause of her anxiety around children, and we have not witnessed it ourselves, but we respect this report and must err on the safe side and find her a home where she will not be around toddlers or young children. Gracie is fine with some dogs, but choosy who she likes. Boxer knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred for her adoption. You can ask for Gracie by name in the lobby at Nevada SPCA. She debuts for adoption today.

Who will keep me safe and love me dearly?

Update: Petey was adopted on November 23rd! Petey did not stand much of a chance on the streets. And without tags, or a microchip ID, or even being neutered - three of the most important pillars of responsible pet ownership - it was clear he had been thrown away intentionally. Fortunately, he made his way to us before danger could befall him. He is now neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and debuting for adoption today. Petey is a Toy & Terrier mix (perhaps Jack Russell Terrier mix), about 5 months of age. We expect him to remain small in size. Petey enjoys other dogs. He is shy with new people, but warm-hearted with those he trusts.

I am 40 pounds of devotion.

Update: Raja was adopted on November 17th! Raja is a lovely, medium-sized youngster with a gentle, sensitive nature. She is spayed, one year of age, and smaller than she appears in her portrait, a unique Heinz 57 who defies easy breed categorization. We believe she is a beautiful jumble of many breeds (and probably the healthier because of it). We rescued Raja from another shelter, so we know little about her background. Raja is compatible with other calm, friendly dogs. She is humble and unassuming, a complete sweetheart who may do best in a quieter home. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

They abandoned me in a dog park and I had nowhere to go.

Update: Ruby Tuesday was adopted on November 25th! Ruby Tuesday is a darling little gem. She is shy with new people, but she warms up quickly as trust develops. Ruby Tuesday is most likely a Pug & Chihuahua mix. She is spayed, about 7 years of age, and adorned with the cutest front-folding ears. She was left behind in a dog park, her tag and collar removed (and no microchip ID). A kind person brought her into safety and reported that she was fine with his older, mature kids. Ruby Tuesday also enjoys the company of other dogs. She may do best in a home with another dog for lifelong companionship. Ruby Tuesday debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

If you are seeking a sweet little Mini Rex rabbit, then I am the girl for you.

Hattie , a precious young bunny with the softest coat, and blue-grey accents on her snow-white coloring, is gorgeous on the inside too. She is a Mini Rex rabbit, spayed female, just under 3 years of age. Hattie is a social girl and enjoys people, though she gets anxious if you hold her any longer than short intervals. (We have found that most rabbits enjoy interacting most with people who sit on the floor next to them.) Hattie is available for adoption today and she will do best in a quieter home. She is one of approximately 70 rescued and spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

My eyes reveal the oceans of unconditional love I have to share with you.

Lila is a petite youngster who craves gentle affection. She loves to sit in your lap and enjoy your tender touch and reassurances. Lila is a mostly snow-white shorthair, spayed, and one year of age. Lila and her four kittens needed rescue and fostering when their owner lost the family home to foreclosure. Her kittens have already been spayed/neutered and adopted, so now it is her turn to find a forever home. Lila is currently living with her foster mom and she comes to the Nevada SPCA lobby every Saturday at 11am to be considered by visitors for adoption. Like all of Nevada SPCA's rescued cats, she needs and requires and deserves a strictly indoor-only home where she will be safe and cherished as a member of the family.
