Sweetheart puppies rescued from the desert.

Chapman, photographed on October 16.

Chapman is a bashful baby boy with a very gentle soul and he needs continuing socialization.

He is 1 of 16 puppies we rescued from the desert, born to two feral (undomesticated) moms -- Australian Cattle Dog mixes, believed to be sisters.  (Efforts continue to capture the mothers, who somehow continue to elude both humans and coyotes.)

Thirteen of his siblings have been adopted.  The remaining two will debut for adoption in the days to come as they are spayed/neutered and prepared for adoption.

These babies have only had human contact for a few weeks, so they are exceptionally shy and uneasy around people.  But thanks to volunteers and staff socializing them more each day, they are making slow and steady progress -- progress that needs to now continue in their forever homes.

We believe the puppies will grow to medium size.  (Their father is unknown.)

Chapman is about 5 months of age and neutered.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety.

We believe a 'big brother' or 'big sister' dog could enormously help him with adjusting and learning good behaviors.  Please bring your dog(s) to meet him.
