Update: Buddha was adopted on February 1st!

Buddha is a peaceful, serene young adult sugar glider with enormous charm available for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please ask for him by name in the Lovebug Room.

This precious boy needed us because his previous owner said he did not have the knowledge or time to care for him properly.

A marsupial, Buddha loves his comfy pouch.  Sugar gliders are nocturnal, they play at night and sleep during the day, so his pouch hung high in his vertical cage feels safe and keeps him out of sunlight.  (His nesting box and being able to climb is critically important, so an aquarium-type habitat is not acceptable.)

We need an experienced owner for Buddha, someone knowledgeable about and/or experienced with this species.  A fresh fruit diet is essential for his health and there are specific woods it is acceptable for him to chew on.  Sugar gliders in captivity reportedly can live 10-15 years.

Like all rescued animals, we are seeking a loving, forever home for Buddha where he will be treated like a member of the family.
