Lucinda

Image
Lucinda , who survived extreme evil, thanks to tons of love that included nurturing care & healing in a loving foster home, triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She is an 18-month angelic silver tabby, spayed, and compatible with other very gentle cats. Early this year a man caught teenagers behind his business torturing Lucinda with firecrackers.  The kids had taped them to her tail and she was severely burned on her paws too (and her left ear) trying to remove them. Lucinda's tail was maimed beyond repair and had to be amputated.  She walks tentatively on front legs because her claws no longer retract, and drags her hind legs (though we suspect she was born with this birth defect, which made her a helpless victim to the kids' cruelty). Lucinda's foster mom says she is wonderfully playful, exceptionally affectionate, and happy to cradled in your lap for cuddles. Please help find Lucinda the most peaceful of homes so she only knows the bes...

The Gone With The Wind Kittens

Image
Ashley, loves sitting in laps. Melanie, cuddly and purrs heartily. Scarlett, vocal and playful. Ashley and his sisters, Melanie and Scarlett , nicknamed "The Gone With The Wind Kittens" by their wonderful foster mom, are available for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  (Their brother, Rhett , has been adopted.)  The babies have been raised in nurturing foster care since their rescue.  They are 3 months of age and spayed/neutered.  Please kitten-proof your home carefully for their safety.

DeMarco

Image
Please give consideration to DeMarco , a cheerful boy with amazing charm.  He gives the brightest smiles and enjoys sunbathing (napping in the sun) and frolicking in wading pools.  DeMarco is 5 years of age, a handsome blend of Collie & Retriever (and other Sporting breeds), neutered, housetrained & crate-trained, and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He gets along very well with adults, but reportedly needs a home without cats or children. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these terrific new portraits to help DeMarco find a loving, forever home.

Nicholas

Image
Nicholas is a remarkably cute and engaging baby boy triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. You may remember his siblings who were adopted in late April. They were rescued as motherless newborns and lovingly raised in nurturing foster care. Nicholas had "puppy strangles" (juvenile cellulitis) and needed veterinary care.  He is now almost 5 months of age, neutered, well, good with other dogs, and very ready to begin his new life!  Nicholas is a Labrador Retriever mix (with other Sporting breeds) and we believe he will grow to large size.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety.

Leonidas & Maximus

Image
Leonidas, picture 1 Leonidas, picture 2 Maximus, picture 1 Maximus, picture 2 One of the cutest things about brothers Leonidas and Maximus is how they nap, side-by-side, Leonidas under the blanket while Maximus rests atop the blanket.  Both boys are 5 years of age, very friendly, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Leonidas has marbled tabby coloring and Maximus has striped tiger tabby markings.  The boys are bonded for life and need to be adopted together.  They needed us due to their previous owners' financial hardship.

Matisse -- Before & After

Image
Matisse is a precious, 6-pound Yorkie-Poo who needs your patience as he adjusts to a loving home and your expectations.  He is very kind and humble, 8 years of age, neutered, good with dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Matisse was at another shelter that asked for our help due to severe neglect.  He has diminished vision in his left eye, so please take extra safety precautions around pools, stairs, and other potential dangers.  Special thanks to Hair of the Dog Spa for his grooming.

Cora's Babies

Image
Rose, gentle and bashful. Romeo may cry when he wants you to pick him up. Valentino, very lovable and affectionate. Rose and her baby brothers, Romeo and Valentino , are precious Chihuahua puppies debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  You may remember their mother, Cora (pictured below), who was adopted last month.  At the time of rescue from a suspected backyard breeder, Cora's babies were just 10 days old.  We placed mom and puppies in a nurturing foster home and they were raised and socialized with kittens and bunnies.  Cora's puppies are now 3 months of age and spayed/neutered.  Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety. All three have temperaments best suited for a gentle home environment. Cora, their mother, was adopted last month.
