Xyra , a lovable junior puppy, is another of the 35 rescued Blond Angels and she debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    She loves playing in water, so please get her a mobile pool for endless hours of swimming and splashing. Xyra is a White Shepherd mix, 10 months of age, and now spayed.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety.    She is good with other dogs and may adjust best in a home with a big sister or brother dog. Please be very patient with Xyra's socialization and adjustment. She is developing beautifully here, but she was rescued from abysmal conditions.    More details here about the 35 Blond Angels .

Lucy loves to go swimming!  She is a gorgeous Pointer & Labrador Retriever mix, 3 years young, housetrained, good with children & cats & dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is shy with strangers, but very devoted to those she knows.  Lucy needed us when she was left behind and handed away to friends, and so forth, involuntarily playing "musical chairs" with new homes. She needs someone who will commit to her for life.

Update: Phelps was adopted on May 14th! Upon his rescue from a foreclosed home, we brought this handsome duck in to a protected patio with multiple swimming pools. Raised with chickens and rabbits, he was not at all fearful of the pot belly pigs and other ducks. His focus was just getting in the water. We will never forget his initial burst of euphoric joy -- splashing, dunking, cleaning, wading -- completely overwhelmed with fulfilling his nature and being in the pools. We named this swimming aficionado Phelps , after the swimmer. He is a very handsome and friendly duck. He even lets the staff members who bond with him and feed him to hold him in their arms for brief intervals. Playfully, he sometimes chases them to demand great attention. Phelps needs a very safe home geared to the pleasures of a duck, with plenty of places to swim. He is so socialized with and dependent on people that he cannot be released into a wilderness-type environment. Instead, he needs a home where he w...

Regalo has the majesty of a little lion, plus the quirkiness and individuality of someone who follows the beat of his own drummer. Spend a few minutes with Regalo on our patio and we are sure you will see how unique he is in both personality and appearance. Regalo is a Pomeranian (perhaps mixed -- we have debated this among ourselves here), neutered, approximately 8 years of age. His great joy is playing in water. Show him the kiddie pool and he will jump in and splash and soak, feeling on top of the world. Regalo is also good with other dogs and needs regular grooming care. We rescued him from another shelter. He was adopted for a very brief time, but returned to us due to no fault of his own. Today, Regalo is ready again for adoption. Hopefully, this will be the last time he ever needs a new home again.
