This precious little jewel, Josie , arrived to us for rescue in a state of emergency with a large open wound on her abdomen, and she seemed to be in a state of shock. A giant mammary tumor had burst open. We rushed her into medical care and then to a specialist who performed the complicated surgery to remove the tumor. After healing for a few weeks, she made a good recovery and today debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Throughout this trauma, Josie remained trusting and even-tempered. Her loving nature glows. Vito has the most contagious smile. He relaxes his jaw into a huge grin and you just cannot help but smile along with him. He loves people and going for walks, and he plays like he is still a puppy. He also gives kisses to share his joy. Vito is a stocky Boxer mix, neutered male, approximately 7-8 years of age. He is best as the only dog. We rescued Vito from another shelter. He then ruptured a ligament during vigorous playtime in the courtyard. He has completely healed though, thanks to successful surgery and 6 weeks of physical therapy which was very generously paid for by a Nevada SPCA volunteer. Vito is anxious to start his new life today with someone who will cherish him and share in his daily happiness.
