Snickers & Cupcake

Image
Several weeks ago Snickers & Cupcake walked up to a nice couple pleading for help. They were on the streets and Cupcake was emaciated from starvation (with her ribs, spine and other bones clearly visible under her skin). Neither had any sign of responsible ownership. Physically and emotionally, these soul-mates are thriving. They remain shy, but now enjoy people handling them and caring for them. Cupcake's energy level has doubled and she has gained weight (from 3.2 pounds to 4.8 pounds) and improved posture. Snickers is a red-blond Chihuahua, 7 years of age, a boy (now neutered). Cupcake is a Toy Fox Terrier, 4 years of age, a girl (now spayed).    They are bonded for life, together forever, good with other sweet dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Gazelle

Gazelle , now recovered from starvation, beautifully debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a Jack Russell Terrier & Italian Greyhound mix with unique coloration, 2 years young and spayed, and good with other sweet dogs.  At the time of rescue she was at another shelter and emaciated with a bulging spine and ribs.  Gazelle is bashful and best suited for a very gentle home.

Don't we all deserve kindness and compassion?

We named this baby-faced girl " Bliss " because she has so much devotion in her eyes.  Bliss was found on the streets of Las Vegas in a state of starvation with no sign of responsible ownership.  She has been recovering weight and energy for many weeks now and today she triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Bliss adores people and she is very grateful for every act of kindness and compassion.  She is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Bully and tiger coloring, spayed, and about 6 years of age.

Update on Godiva, the young Bully rescued from starvation, with scenes from her foster home.

Image
Godiva's foster parents say she loves blowing bubbles while lounging in the pool. Godiva always sleeps and naps on her back, as carefree as can be. At the time of Godiva's rescue from another shelter in May, she was dangerously emaciated from starvation, weighing just 31 pounds.  ( To see her dramatic improvement, please compare these pictures to Godiva's original post. ) 60 days later, thriving in a loving foster home, she is now 51 pounds and doing so beautifully that she is almost unrecognizable. Special thanks to Mark & Angie, her foster parents, as well as Godiva's two big siblings (both are also Bullies). Mark & Angie say that Godiva loves lounging in their pool, putting her nose underwater and blowing bubbles, and that she always sleeps and naps on her back, as carefree as can be. Godiva is soon going to have a leg surgery for a slipping kneecap (luxating patella), then she will be ready for adoption. We want to thank ev...

Godiva is recovering from near starvation and needs a hero.

Foster home needed please!  Godiva , a Bully mix rescued earlier this month from starvation, needs a new foster home for continuing tender loving care and recovery.  Her previous foster mom did a beautiful job with her, helping her gain more than 5 pounds in just the past two weeks.  Godiva has now gained 11 pounds since her rescue (31 pounds to 42 pounds)!  She is standing up better, wagging her tail every time she sees a familiar face, and beginning to give us some smiles.  Perhaps due in part to her near death from extreme emaciation, Godiva is diabetic and requires daily insulin shots.  If you can foster Godiva , please visit Nevada SPCA today before 5pm and ask for DJ.  Thank you in advance for sharing this post to help Godiva find a hero.
