Tommy

Image
Tommy is beginning to shine as he realizes that days of neglect and cruelty are over.  He is a young Shih-Tzu, 2 years of age, good with other dogs, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Tommy was found in poor, matted condition on the streets with no sign of responsible ownership.  He is fussy about leashes and worries about strangers. Tommy needs a gentle, stable home where his progress with trust can continue.

Keaton

Keaton , a young Wheaten Terrier mix with enormous loving potential, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is 1 year of age, good with other dogs, and now neutered.  Keaton is recovering from abuse and neglect.  At the time of rescue he was a matted mess and very frightened by quick movements.  We had Keaton shaved, saving as much of his coat as possible, and he is beginning to understand that we won't ever hurt him.  Keaton studies strangers carefully, trying to determine their intentions.  Please help find a very gentle home for him where he can bloom and know only the best of human nature from now on.

Scotty

Scotty continues to progress beautifully and we are celebrating his improvements with these wonderful new portraits courtesy of Pet'ographique .  He is an American Bulldog mix, 5 years of age and neutered, housetrained, and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Scotty enjoys long, leisurely walks and may be compatible with some dogs.  Thanks to dedicated volunteers and staff, he is recovering from extreme neglect and abuse.  Experienced, adult-only home needed to help him continue reaching for his full loving potential.

Donatello

Image
Donatello finally has a twinkle in his eyes and hope for his future.  He is a remarkably attractive boy, most likely a Havanese and Wheaten Terrier mix, about 5 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Donatello was terrified and shaking at another shelter that asked for our help.  He was in poor, neglected condition, and showed signs of being abused.  We have been working with Donatello for a few months and he has made great progress.  A gentle, experienced, adult-only home is ideal for his continuing emotional healing and improvement.

Blue's miraculous, most heart-warming update!

Image
We are elated! with the update on Blue , who was adopted almost two years ago, and want to share it with you (and many of you may remember her). She is a Chow Chow, now 14 years of age.  Her mom, Jamie, says Blue loves mothering and nurturing the small dogs in their family.  (She is pictured here with one of her siblings.) Blue no longer fears people and keeps an upbeat spirit every day.  Back in 2011, at the time of her rescue, she was untouchable for many weeks, so abused and neglected that she wanted nothing to do with humans. Here is a link to our original post on Blue as she finally began making progress with trust: http://nevadaspca.blogspot.com/2011/09/blue-finally-awakens-to-human-kindness.html
