Milo

Image
As hard as it is to see the pain still in Milo's face, he is actually improving a bit more each day and no longer hiding his face. He is very docile and he is slowly but surely beginning to hope again. Milo , 10, a cream tabby, was at another shelter that asked for our help. He had been confiscated from his previous home for cruelty and he was terrified of violence and rage. Milo likes soft-spoken volunteers and staff to pet him and reassure him with tender words. He is starting to show interest in toys too. We look forward to the day when he knows in his heart that he is safe and secure. Please help find a hero for Milo . He is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Holly

Image
Holly would love to have a sister or brother dog to help her feel safe.  She's seen the worst of human nature and watches strangers carefully to determine their intentions. But being around other dogs puts her at ease and the world feels okay again.  Holly is a German Shepherd mix, 6 years of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued Holly from another shelter that needed our help due to her past abuse.

Carmine

Image
Carmine is an earnest youngster who worries people are going to hurt him.  He flinches if you move toward him too quickly.  Carmine is a Toy & Terrier mix, 1 year of age, housetrained, neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is good with other dogs and we believe he will adjust best in a home with a big sister or brother dog.  We rescued Carmine from another shelter that asked for our help due to his abusive past.

Logan

Image
Logan has the brightest eyes for his future and his whole body wiggles with joy when it's time for a meal or a walk.  This sporty boy has made a terrific recovery from abuse thanks to socialization from dedicated volunteers and staff.  Logan is a large blend of many breeds and naturally clad in a tuxedo, about 7-8 years of age, neutered, and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Logan adores people, but he still cannot be around other dogs.  Please help find him a one-dog household where he will only see the best of human nature.

Rainbow

Image
Rainbow's colorful personality is shining so beautifully, thanks to volunteers and staff who have helped her recover from abuse.  Her favored activities include fetching tennis balls and kissing people on their chins.  Rainbow is a golden-eyed Bully mix, 5 years of age and spayed, awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She is wonderful with people, but needs to be the only animal in the home. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing Rainbow's progress in these fantastic new portraits!

Alexandria

Image
Alexandria now understands there is kindness in the world, and thanks to months of loving attention from volunteers, her spirits are soaring with hope!  She is a medium-size Heinz 57 (unique blend of many breeds), 2 years young, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  An abuse survivor, found abandoned on the streets, she is still shy with strangers, but she quickly warms to people and shines.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these remarkable portraits to help Alexandria find a responsible, loving forever home.

I've come a long way, baby.

Anne Marie has endless hours of enjoyment in wading pools.  She loves playing in the water, lounging on pool steps, and dancing in the sprinklers.  Anne Marie is a medium-size, young Dutch Shepherd mix with beautiful tiger/brindle coloring, about 2 years of age, a spayed girl, housetrained, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Thanks to many hours of compassion from volunteers, Anne Marie has made a wonderful recovery from abuse.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for celebrating her progress with this gorgeous new portrait to help her find a responsible, loving forever home.

Robin, a rescued puppy: "I ask for your kindness, but I fear your anger."

Image
Robin is a puppy who is wary of people, terrified of being hit or kicked, or yelled at, so he hunkers down until he feels he has assessed your intentions.  The spark is coming back to his eyes though as he recovers from abuse and he is now letting more of us hold and comfort him.  Robin has enormous loving potential and we ask for your help in finding him a hero who will provide a stable, forever home where his progress can continue.  Robin is a Dachshund & Terrier mix baby boy, 7 months of age, neutered, great dogs and cats, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety.

I am terrified someone will beat me again. I can't tell yet who to trust and who to fear.

Emily needs a gentle hero to help her understand that her world can be safe.  She screams if new people approach her too quickly, worried she is about to be beaten.  Our hearts break for what Emily has endured and as she comes to realize that violence was only her past, not her future, she will gain self-esteem and bloom and gain the all-important feeling of peace-of-mind.  Emily is a lovely Cocker Spaniel, 2 years young, spayed girl, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued her from another shelter to treat her ear infections and she is now ready for a fresh start in a calm home environment.

Thank you for never giving up on me!

Logan loves playing football and soccer.  He briskly trots beside one of our volunteers who takes him on bike rides and he keeps a huge smile on his face.  It has taken us months to help him overcome abuse and now Logan is triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Logan is reportedly a Labrador Retriever & Akita mix, about 5 years of age, neutered, housetrained, crate-trained, and fine with some female dogs.  We are so pleased to now see his spirit uplifted and the sparkle in his eyes!  Enormous thanks to the volunteers who have been diligently working with him and helping him believe in humans again.
