Being kicked hurt my soul more than my body.

Please help us find Angelina a hero.  She is a 12-year-old sweetheart whose previous owner died.  She was devoted to him, but her emotional distress extends beyond heartbreak to reports that other family/household members "hated her" and would kick her to get her out of their way.  (We are sharing all information with authorities.)  Angelina is understandably terrified of strangers, unable to walk on a leash without panicking, and scared in new situations that violence will again come her way.  But soft-spoken and gentle volunteers and staff are making good progress with her.  Angelina wants so much to trust again, so there is no question she will continue blooming in the right home environment.  Angelina is a very petite, golden Chihuahua mix, spayed, and great with other calm dogs.

Before & After: Sammy, a Briard mix, who is now ready for adoption.

Sammy upon arriving at Nevada SPCA on the day of his rescue. Sammy today, after his matted coat had to be shaved away. Before & After: It's hard to believe this is the same dog.  But at the time of rescue, Sammy , a Briard mix, was so matted and knotted that we had to have his coat shaved completely off, to his skin even. Now, his hair can grow back beautifully and cleanly without painful tangles. Sammy is a very engaging, good-natured boy and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is about 5 years of age, neutered, tail-less, and fine with most dogs. Sammy was taken to a government-funded shelter when his previous owner died.  But he was running out of time there, perhaps overlooked due to his neglected condition. Of course, he is safe now, and we ask for your help in finding Sammy a terrific new start in life with a loving, forever home.

Can you count all of my toes?

Farmia is a mellow, handsome boy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He was a good sport letting us hold him in this position so we could show off his extra toes (polydactyl) on each paw.  Farmia's extra toes help him envelope you in wonderful hugs!  He is about 6 years of age, neutered, and good with other sweet cats.  Farmia needed us when his previous owner passed away.

My life is fulfilling being at my sister's side.

Llewellyn & Magpie are stunningly beautiful girls with a very gentle, peaceful presence.  They are Dutch mix bunnies, about 3 years of age, presumed to be sisters, and now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Llewellyn & Magpie needed us when their previous owner died and they had nowhere to go.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this remarkable portrait to help the girls find a loving, forever home together.

Does anyone want me?

Colleen is a very kind, gentle soul with a peaceful spirit and she debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a Longhair Dachshund mix, about 11 years of age, spayed girl, and she gets along very well with other sweet dogs.  Colleen's past is mostly unknown.  Her previous owner passed away and she was taken to a government-funded shelter.  The surviving family did not reclaim her.  Nevada SPCA was asked to take her and find her a calm, loving home environment for her twilight years.  Please help Colleen by sharing her picture.

I understand that peace-of-mind is happiness.

Miss Kitty needed us when her previous owner died and she had nowhere to go. She is very gentle and wise, and she takes delight in life's simple pleasures, like catnapping by windows to bask in the sun rays.  We love her easy-going personality. Miss Kitty is a beautiful grey & white shorthair with light green eyes, spayed girl, about 8 years of age, good with other cats, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
