Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Donatello eagerly seeks kindness and looks carefully to people for their acceptance.  He is a friendly boy, a Jack Russell Terrier, 4 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Donatello was at another shelter that asked for our help after he had survived a massive trauma to his body (from source unknown). Patti , 10, improving daily, yearns to know what a loving home feels like.  She is a Lhasa Apso & Toy mix, good with other dogs, spayed girl, ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Patti was found in an abandoned apartment in horrific condition (matted coat, extended belly, emotional distress).  She is now cleaned and groomed, eating premium foods, and her belly swelling has reduced with daily heart medication.  Please help find a hero for Patti .

Buzzy , so bright-eyed at 13 years of age, is intrigued by everyone he meets.  He is young at heart and thoughtful, housetrained, and good with cats & dogs & older kids.  Buzzy is a Miniature PInscher, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  His previous owners cited their deteriorating health conditions as the reason for surrendering him.  Please share Buzzy's post to help find a hero!

Ginger Rogers , 13, blessed with class and grace, beams when we excitedly tell her how much love she deserves. "Does anyone want my love?" Sweetie , 11, a calm-natured soul, recovers from a broken heart.    Her previous owner had a terminal illness and she doesn't understand what has happened.    Sweetie is a gold & white Heinz 57 with Bully, spayed girl, housetrained, good with cats and older kids, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    She reportedly gets agitated by other dogs and needs a one-dog household.    Please share Sweetie's post to help find her a hero.

James , 15, purrs in your lap and nuzzles against your arm.    He cherishes very gentle moment with kind people. James needs a hero please. His previous family surrendered him due to a newborn baby's allergies.    James is a solemn and quiet-natured senior, previously declawed, neutered boy, good with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .

Sundae has eyes full of hope.  She is a delightful, petite youngster, a Chihuahua & Toy mix, 1 year of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Sundae is eager to please and seems to pick up good behaviors quickly with kind guidance.

Kansas , 11, worries that nobody will want his love. We reassure him that he's a wonderful treasure and he relaxes and joins us for walks and petting. Kansas is kind with people and dogs. He is a Labrador Retriever mix, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    He needs to continue building self-esteem and confidence. Kansas is 1 of 33 animals Nevada SPCA has rescued so far from a collapsed animal organization in northern Arizona. His background is otherwise unknown.

Stella wants to be a lap dog. She dearly hopes you don't think she's too big to crawl into your lap for praise, acceptance, and peace-of-mind. This beautiful and soulful young English Mastiff mix survived an unconscionably cruel home. Her ears have been crudely sliced off. There are indications she was taunted and teased by children too.    She must never experience evil again. Stella still believes in human kindness. She is 1 year of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .   We rescued Stella from another shelter that needed our help due to her dreadful, violent past.

Tenderheart's remarkable survival and ongoing recovery. Post 2 of 2 this morning of dogs surviving perilous starvation and ready for nurturing foster homes to continue their recoveries. Tenderheart was found abandoned in a crate without food or water for an unknown length of time. Most of her body mass was gone and you could see her every bone. Like Elsie, posted earlier this morning, we rushed Tenderheart into emergency care at a veterinary hospital to save her life. Tenderheart is eating premium, nutritious food well on her own. It will take many weeks to regain muscle and energy, which may happen best in the peace and comfort of a gentle foster home. Terrance looks up submissively and then his eyes enlarge with hope as he hears us tell him he's a good boy and really doing well. At 22 pounds, he is one of the smallest of the 33 rescued dogs (medium-size Heinz 57s with Whippet, Beagle, Mini Bully, and more breeds). Terrance is 3 years young, neutered, and ready to debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org). Terrance is good with female dogs his size and larger. Promise & Peaches , tiny girls who are bonded for life, 9 & 15 years of age, plea for a gentle home where they can remain together and be treasured. At the time of rescue in January, both were in very poor condition from neglect.    Now, after many weeks of loving care and premium food and medical procedures, both are thriving and ready to begin their new lives. They debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Promise is a Shih-Tzu and Peaches is a Toy Poodle mix. Both are housetrained and good with other dogs.    They are strongly bonded and count on each other for emotional support. Please help us find them a hero.

Sadie was at another shelter and trembling in fear.  She is letting us hold and reassure her and she is building up confidence well in the presence of other dogs.  Like Holly, who was posted earlier today, Sadie would love to be another dog's devoted little sister.  She will thrive best following another dog's lead and adjusting to a peaceful and stable home.   Sadie is an adorable tri-color Chihuahua mix, 5 years of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Ariel Jade Jade with Wayne Follow-up on the 33 rescued dogs mentioned yesterday: Ariel and Jade both love hugging and cuddling. Like Bonnie Blue Belle , who was featured yesterday , the girls have tender hearts and yearn for acceptance. All 33 are doing far better at this early point with staff and volunteers than we would have expected following all that they endured their entire lives. With more socialization, then their spay surgeries, they will be ready for adoption in the weeks to come. Thanks again to everyone who helps make lifesaving work possible! Serenity , 13, a gentle and dear soul, asks for a hero. She is a Bully & Boxer mix with a blue sunburst in her right eye, a spayed girl, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Serenity is reportedly housetrained and good with dogs and kids.  She became homeless when her previous owner abandoned her with a roommate.

Margie hopes you will accept her unconditional love for life.  This tiny young girl has survived so much, but seems to know that a peaceful home soon awaits her.  Margie is a 4-pound Chihuahua with mousy good looks, 2 years young and spayed, great with other dogs, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. At the time of rescue Margie was in another shelter and in dire need from being struck by a vehicle.  We had hip repair surgery provided for Margie and she made a beautiful recovery.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these incredible new portraits to help Margie's dreams come true.

Cheri does not yet understand that she is safe.  We could hardly photograph her this morning because our team kept taking turns hugging and kissing her with reassurance.  Cheri is so devastated from abuse that she won't walk on a leash, so we carry her everywhere she goes.  She is a small Labrador Retriever mix, 4 years of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Cheri's past is mostly unknown.  We rescued her from another shelter and it appears her previous owner repeatedly bred her for puppies.  Please help find Cheri a hero.

Zeus is well-behaved, compatible with kids and dogs, housetrained and crate-trained. He has a fun, pleasant personality and enjoys playing ball. Over the months Zeus has watched thousands of other rescued dogs get adopted, but he still awaits someone wonderful to want him for a devoted, lifelong companion and family member.
